We have Council Member Tuttle online, and we will now hand it to City Manager Dennis Marcell.

Great. Thank you, Mayor, and good morning, everybody. Happy Friday. I want to certainly thank Council Member for your work on the budget and acknowledge that we will be ready for the new fiscal year on January 1 with your efforts this week. So we'll work towards that. For our meeting on next Tuesday, September 1, I do want to highlight we're going to open the meeting with a new tradition. This week marked the first week of our new fire chief. Michael Muir is on board with us now, and we will do an installation ceremony for him. On the 1st, he'll be part of the opening agenda exercises for the council meeting. And we'll look forward to welcoming Chief Muir, and he will have his wife, son, and daughter with us. So, looking forward to get to meet them.

Looking at the agenda items, a couple things you'll see on there. We do have another street outreach grant. Our staff has been busy working on several grants, particularly in the housing area and homeless area. So you'll see that on the agenda as well. And then you have a bunch of water sewer main improvements on there. There is something related to the Redbud Trail improvements. We do have design concepts for two public art pieces for you to evaluate as well. And then one that may have a little bit more conversation is near the end for new business is about a contract with our emergency veterinary medical services. Our current contractor given workload and other things is wishing to cancel the contract we have a solution for staffing that i've been working with emily as a director of the animal shelter to fill the void of this service but this is at the request of the service provider and so that will be on the agenda for your evaluation as well And then we are getting into the fall season. You will see the request for several community events with alcohol on the agenda for you on the 1st. And what you will not see on the agenda, there's been communication with the council in my office about an appeal for a street closure. That is still being worked and evaluated by legal, so we'll probably have an executive session for you on Tuesday. So we will, given some of the appeal nature on that, we're still clarifying some of the information's validity and conformity to the process, and so we're still resolving that, and we'll have an update for you, most likely an executive session on Tuesday. So those are the highlights for the September 1 agenda. Any questions?

And then if you're ready to look quickly at the September 8th. Actually, not as many items on the September 8th, but one we are bringing back to you at council request is the boathouse to terminate the contract agreement with them. That is still the recommendation.

but questions were raised as part of your deliberation on that that we will have a memo for you that addresses a lot of the questions identified. related to the contract, what are some of the contract components?

When can we expect the memo?

Monday, if not today. But for sure on Monday. So you'll have at least a week in advance. And then we can deliberate if we want to do something different with the agenda item. But as of now, that is slated to be reconsidered by you on September 8th. So that's the highlight of the September 8th meeting. As of now, we do have some other small items on there, contracts on there. Any questions I can address for council? And then we have, again, as always, at your place, update on some of the previous questions and information follow-up in front of you. So feel free to digest that.
