Information: The Board of Commissioners will conduct a public hearing pursuant to North Carolina General Statute § 160D-107, allowing local governments to place a temporary moratorium on any development approval required by law. The Board of Commissioners desires to study these impacts and to consider appropriate zoning definitions, standards, and regulations applicable to data center development before such uses are permitted to locate within the Town. CRTPO 2026 Fall Project Applications

Information: The Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) will open its 2026 Fall Project Application Cycle on August 17. Through this competitive process, CRTPO allocates Direct Attributable (DA) funds to member jurisdictions for eligible transportation projects, including highway, bicycle and pedestrian, transit, air quality improvement, and transportation planning initiatives. Staff will provide an overview of the upcoming application cycle and is seeking Board direction on which projects should be developed and submitted for consideration. Consider Approval of Awarding Contract to Widewaters Construction, Inc. for Intersection Improvement at Waxhaw-Marvin Road and Pine Oak Road

Information: On July 22, 2026, a formal bid opening was held for the Waxhaw-Marvin/Pine Oak Intersection Improvement contract. The Town received three (3) bids with Widewaters Construction, Inc. being identified as the lowest responsible bidder at $1,613,511.64. Consider Approval of Interlocal Agreement Between the Town of Waxhaw and Union County for Administering Pavement Restoration for the Downtown Cast-Iron Watermain Replacement Project

Information: Staff will present an Interlocal Agreement between the Town of Waxhaw and Union County for pavement restoration associated with the Downtown Cast-Iron Watermain Replacement Project. The agreement authorizes the Town to bid, administer, and oversee the pavement restoration work, with Union County reimbursing eligible project costs up to $407,400.
