We are at 05:00. Alright. So call the meeting to order. Roll call. Beth Moulton. Amy Crawford. Wendy Hilgerts. Gerdado. Moving on to public comment, I do not see anyone here for public comment. Going to item number four, approval of minutes. Do I have a motion to approve minutes from last meeting? So moved. Second? Second. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Going on to old business, the Freeman Alley updates.
Okay. So just so you know, I mean, Freeman Alley, we got the we're working on the artist contracts. They're not gonna be able to paint till the weather's nice, especially the one on the wall. So we're working we got the an agreement from the owner of 300 West Main Street, which is where those mirrors we selected. So he signed off.
We're working on the Thomas Press Building next. So in the next few months, you'll see, the artists that we had for the RP, we're gonna send out an email with the dimensions of Thomas Press Building and all that and get designs from there because we select we said that we liked most of the artists that selected or that turned in their art. So we're gonna open it up to them first just to see. And if we need to send it back out, we'll send it back out. But, I think we'll get some good ones there. So we're working on those contracts, working on a lot of the behind the scenes stuff, the structure for the sign, everything like that. So it's moving along. It's gonna once the weather warms up, it's gonna move pretty quickly, I think.
So That's exciting. So has the sign been all approved and is in the process of being milky?
We're no. We're we're we worked with a signed contractor. We need to buy a a by code to get three quotes.
Okay.
So we'll be getting two more quotes, but we like the signed contract that they do they designed it to it's a good one, but we'll open it up to Okay. Two more since in certain price range, you have to get three quotes and over a certain price, you have to get you have to bid it out. So but so Great.
So are they June or July? Or
Oh, I would I would think the first mural should will probably get going as soon as we get a study. So
May? April?
May? Yeah. Mhmm. It depends how late winter is this year. If we're getting early right now, snow, maybe we'll see. So but, yeah, we'll we'll move in ahead. Awesome.
Any other discussion on that? Moving ahead to item number six, new business. The twenty twenty six gallery art exhibit review applications.
Okay. So we have a several of the, same people coming back, but they're gonna be submitting some different art, for us. So Dan Alexa Art Centers, they're very well known in the area. They're looking at, being up in January and February. So just some, some pictures of some of the artwork that they've had in the past.
Like I said, though, a lot of them, there's different art, so there'll be different art pieces than previous times as well. So that was January or February. Then the Pewaukee Area Arts Council, requested April and, or March and April. So, just kind of a few
I'm fan of that bird. You're not or you aren't? I do. I like him. I know. He's great.
I think the butterfly too. Right? They they they have some good
pieces in there.
So And I can only add a few of them. But so they're looking at, March and April. Then, Carroll University alumni, Martin Brods, June and July that they're looking at. So there's a there's a collection of Carroll University alumni that submit for the four or five of them. So they there's some really good pieces and a good mix of painting, actual photography.
Some glass.
Yep. This is a yep. This is three d on a a tree stump. So they're looking again in June and July. So this is in the past, we've had gaps. These these are pretty content the build continuous every month or so. The they this artist just requested a month at a time. So this is John Kluge and Jane Cappelletti. So they were new last year's, but they really enjoyed it. So they they wanna come back.
So here's a few examples of their artwork. And then another new one from this year, John Yost. He would do September and October, and, he has some, really cool, art pieces as well. So, basically, starting in January, all the way through October for the cycle, then we'd have filled a few that just couldn't I was already having some of them. They they might come back later.
They just weren't ready with the application, but, we we can add another meeting if a few more come to fill the year, then we'll do that. Otherwise, we have a whole our collection that Amy helped me take inventory with that, I that's on the hallway right now. So Mhmm. But yeah. So those are the artists stuff.
Nice. That's nice. So Yeah. Yeah. I like it. Do you need a motion from us to accept these? Yes. Okay. Do I have a motion to accept? And would it be accept the applications? Do I have
a second? I'll second.
All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Motion passes. I know you can do a motion yourself. Right? I know. So have in the past. I thought Okay. Let somebody else have a chance to do. Anything on communications?
Nothing to I have nothing. Do you have anything?
Just that Carmen's sculpture got dedicated, so if you can get a chance to see it, take a well, pick a nicer day than today. Yeah. Yeah. No. Next time at Sunny Oak, you can either drive by or walk by and see how it looks in. I didn't realize how far apart it was going to be from the the main section. But it's It's a little from scale for me, there's the plans and the scale of the plans. I I have trouble reading them without without some practice. But I'm happy with how, you know, she's on that, and I love the tile wall. So Yeah. I like the tile. Cool. Okay. Otherwise, we need to set our next meeting dates.
So the next meeting date, would be on Tuesday, January 6. I'm hoping that by that point, we might get, two more murals. But if they need some more time, that would be in the February for sure just to get then we'd have at least four starting in the spring, early summer, and we go from there. But as of now, January 6 would be the next one.
And you do a really great job of letting us know if there's going to be or not. Right? Indeed. Yeah. We do. Okay. Do I have a motion for treatment? I'll make a motion for treatment.
