City of Washington, Board of Public Works and Safety, August 24th, 2026. First thing, let's have approval of the minutes on August 10th, 2026, regular meeting.

Councilman Nash makes a motion to approve the minutes. Councilman Dowell seconds. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Discussion approval of claims submitted tonight? I move we pay the claims. All right. Councilman Dollar makes a motion to approve the claims. I'll second. Councilwoman Nash seconds. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? Discussion approval of a request from Brian Bomert with the RTC to close Main Street from 3rd Street to 4th Street on October 10th for a car show, which is a conjunction with their... band night, RTC's got a band in at the Commons that night. My question is, and I've asked Brian this, and I'll just, for your sake, you talked to, is KC having a drawing that night?

Yeah, so their last drawing will be until November, so I had a meeting with them, and they're okay with everything. They even said they hope that it's still going, maybe there'll be several hundred thousand by then, so maybe a hundred thousand. So I'm kind of looking for recommendations. If you guys thought that, you know, fourth, third main, or now third, what would you guys prefer?

Well, that one block. I mean, just the thing is with the KSC, you know, it'll take away some parking, but it won't take away a lot.

And we'll shut it down.

They'll congest it a little bit. They'll have to use 4th Street. A lot of them won't be able to figure it out. But... But they weren't there because of their building, I understand. What was the time on that?

10 to 2.

Yeah, okay. I didn't have that on here. Okay. So that's not too bad. 10 to 2 on the car show, and then you're going to open it up?

Yeah, then we'll just open it.

Because the drawing's not until 6, so that'll help. From 2 to 6, that'll be back open. A lot of people don't get there at 2 o'clock. They get there a little bit later than that. People don't come until 5. I didn't ask a time prior, but that's good. So I don't see a problem because of that. Aaron, do you see anything? Any problems? Chief, do you see anything on that? Both chiefs. Yeah.

Councilman Dahl makes a motion to approve the request. And Councilwoman Nash seconds. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? And he did sign the affidavit. We have the affidavit they signed and completed. So we do have that. Okay, thank you, Brian. And discussion on approval of the annual support. What?

We don't. They don't need to approve those again. They approved them last time. Yeah. They just need to sign them.
