Board of Selectmen - Regular Meeting

Okay. Yep. 6 o'clock. You'd like to call the order selectment meeting to order. We'll start with the pledge pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Okay, we'll do the citizens comments. No citizens. Do you have a comment? No. Make sure your hand go. Uh, next will be the approval of minutes for 129 and 1218. Uh, I've read the minutes and I make a motion to approve the minutes as written. I'll second. All in favor? I

additions to the agenda. Agenda. Uh, I make a motion to add to the agenda. Uh reappointing Tracy to Charism board under other business. Second. All in favor? I

I correspondence and announcements with the public works report that all I have on that is the parking ban notices that go out every time we have bad weather and uh it's um just getting the trucks and cars and all the stuff, the garbage cans and everything off the road so the guys can get through and then um the emergency vehicles can get through. So, have we had to have anyone towed yet? We have not.

Okay. Uh New Year's Eve, we had a bunch of them on there and then we put it out and like a half hour later, everybody started moving. I don't know whether it was they seem to notice or that it was they were done, but we had a pretty we didn't have a problem. We didn't have a problem. So, there we go. That's working. Yep.

Okay. Um the local traffic authority just did that with the boxing man. That was that's what I have. We didn't have anything new.

The finance report. The finance director's report is staffing transitions are expected to decrease the planned expenditures and several salary benefit line buying items. Reimbursement in the amount of 128,563 was successfully requested and received by the town for expenditure related to CIF grant community water studies. We continue to on track to continue to be on track as we head into the budget preparation season in the coming months. Town departments have received their budget packets and are working on preparing budget proposals. That's what we have from the finance director. The treasury report investments and interest earned December was 9,379 and fiscal 63,612. The interest rate was 310 3.10% with a APY of 3.18%. The 30-day yield was 3.87%. As the January tax revenue roll in, we may be purchasing more one and three month CDs instead of increasing our STI balance and balances account balances. So all business

got uh new business tax refunds. We have two of them. We have Amy Dean at 153522 1016 Econill Road. Amy Dean. Okay. And Scott David 206 Road. uh $108. Get a motion on each. I make a motion to um issue the tax refunds as recommended by the tax collector. Second.

Okay. Now we got um our second new business is the appointment of Dale Davis to the transfer station term one 126 123127 an alternate and and an alternate on inland and wetlands for the team of for the term of 112425 through 11227. I could get a motion. Make a motion uh for appointing Dale Davis to the transfer station term and altered on inland wetlands as described. Second. All in favor?

I Tracy for the other business.

Yeah. The board of select will please nominate me to Eastern Regional Tourism District's board of directors as the representative for the town of Balltown. I have been on the board for Eastern Regional Tourism District for 5 years and have served as their vice president, vice chair in the past. I currently currently serve on the legislative committee and the bylaws committee. My term currently expires in early February. The position can be appointed to serve up for three years. I would love to stay on the board to continue my to represent volunt if you choose to reappoint me. my contact information to be submitted to the tourism district. So, that something we need to talk about or can we just get a motion?

Uh, it's she's asking for up to three years. Uh, I don't see any issue with appointing her for three years. Uh, it's she's someone who's got experience um doing it and she has desire to continue doing it to represent the town. So, um Okay. So, can we get a motion? Yep. Uh, I make a motion to appoint Tracy to the Eastern Regional Tourism District's Board of Directors for uh, a three-year term. Uh, when her term expires in early February, is it an appointment or is it a nomination? Uh, I believe it is an it is a nomination. So, we send that nom. So, then it's going to be you're going to have to send that nomination to,

right? So, uh, then I'll amend the motion to, uh, nominate, um, Tracy for the Eastern Regional Tourism District Board of Directors for a three-year term. All in favor? I think suggestions for next meeting.

Uh, I have not. None. Um, just to follow up on HP80002 after a meeting with Heather Summer. We're looking into that. We are we are working on that. So, yes, we'll put that in for the next meeting. Okay. Are there any updates on the brewery? Um, yeah, actually uh went in there tonight and it looks pretty good. So, they're open by summer. So, everything looks good over there. Perfect. Nice.
