GOOD MORNING. WELCOME TO THE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2026 BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONER'S BOARD WORK SESSION. WE HAVE COMMISSIONERS GRANT AND I IN THE ROOM WITH COMMISSIONERS KLAUS AND MIHI ONLINE. COMMISSIONER MENSER IS AT A LOT CONFERENCE AND IS EXCUSED. Today we'll be having a closed session under RCW 4230.140. Go ahead. Sorry.

We thought that we could start off with the advisory boards and committees, just a quick review. Okay. Since some members of the board were unable to be with us yesterday, if we could do that before the closed session, that would be our advisement.

Okay. Yeah, there was a, There was only three of us in the room yesterday when we were talking about advisory boards. So we wanted to bring it up again today and kind of get some direction from the commission. So I will hand it over to you.

Thank you. So in front of you guys, you have your packets on the front cover sheet. It kind of runs through the people who are eligible for reappointment or appointments. The first one is for the fair board. Mike Rendon is eligible for reappointment and he has been recommended by the fair board. Do we have any direction or discussion on that one?

I think he's a reappointment. Caroline's got her hand up.

Oh, I was just going to say I'm okay with moving forward with the fair board.

Okay.

Thumbs up.

Yep. Next is the historic commission. David Petrick and Rebecca Sanchez are both eligible for reappointment and recommendation, um, have been recommended by the historic commission as well.

We have two thumbs up online. We have two thumbs up in the room.

Right. And then the third, uh, the third one is the capital area regional public facilities district. This one, he, um, is for Ken Parsons. His next reappointment would be on March 1st, 2027, but they only meet once a year. And so they move forward a little bit early on this one, but he is also recommended by the board.

All right, do we have two thumbs up online? We got thumbs up in the room, four thumbs up, move forward.

And then last we received eight applications for the treatment sales tax advisory committee and the top four are those that were recommended by the committee to be appointed and all of the applications are in front of you as well if you'd like to review those anymore but that's up to you guys yeah this is the one that we wanted to make sure that rachel you were available for consideration of

Thanks, you guys. And I will say that I did review all of the applications, and I'm okay with, you know, I think that there were quite a few great applications in here. And so, you know, if any other openings come up, I hope that these guys will be reconsidered. But I'm okay with going forward with what the committee has recommended.
