Hi, my name is Matthew Klebes and this is What's Happening at City Hall. You may see City and Wasco County crews working in partnership on streets throughout the Dalles as part of our annual pavement preservation program. One of the ways we preserve our roads is through chip sealing. Chip sealing is the application of an asphalt mix and small rock chips to an existing street. This preventative maintenance treatment helps protect pavement from weather, traffic, and everyday wear and tear, extending the life of our streets and helping us make the most of transportation funding. While work is underway, you may encounter temporary street closures, traffic control, loose gravel, and brief delays. We appreciate your patience and ask drivers to slow down and use caution in work zones to help keep everyone safe.
