into everything else that she does as assistant city manager will be our intern uh director and so she will be uh starting to come to these meetings uh in the future. Um so we've got a a great team and and we're moving forward. Um and I guess on that note um I just wanted to I guess did anyone normally how we do these is just kind of give you an update on what's coming up at council. anything else that was previously discussed um which I can do that uh quickly and then I had a couple other announcements um after that um or do you want me to start with the announcements go back? Are you saying I I don't see Aaron here tonight. So not here tonight to I think you know one of the things would be if you could let her know is something you know I really would have appreciated her letting us know or somebody letting us know what was going on with Brian before tonight.

0:58 – 1:520

Yeah. And she she apologizes. She was sick today. She couldn't she [clears throat] couldn't come. Um but I just I just wanted to cover that so everybody knew we were we're still moving forward. And I I will state for the record I I spoke with Brian briefly um because I had got wind of it and you know I'm going to be a person that will just say since we're being recorded and for public Brian was a a great guy was on the hiring team when he was brought on and um you know politics are in in city life. They're in corporate life. But uh Brian was a great access uh asset to this city. And if I could only I I could briefly explain, but it's not worth it how bad the planning department was 12 years ago. And um and hopefully none of those people are here anymore. [snorts] I don't think they are. Except Kathy, [clears throat] you were around. No, you weren't. Okay.

1:510

I've been through 11.

1:52 – 2:550

11. So see 12. I mean, we're good. So, um, but Brian, I just want to say on the [clears throat] record, thank you to Brian, um, for all of his dedication and definitely for the next meeting, we would definitely like some comments from Aaron or some type of email. Um, because all of these people up here donate their time and they're they're here as often as they can. And so I think I would appreciate some type of letter from her um stating, you know, the the state of the department. And I Brian talked very very highly of all of you and all of you that are not here. And um his comments were very very uh positive to the department that he had developed. And I think I made the comment when I was in last week signing some things how much that department had changed and it's incredible to see and a lot of that is due to your your yourselves and Brian's leadership.

2:52 – 3:100

So, um if you will make that comment to Aaron, sorry she's out today sick by chance, but um I think we would have all have appreciated some type of note via email or something of what's what's to be for the department.

3:07 – 3:520

Sure. Sure. and and and uh I sentiments exactly. Um he hired me so obviously u we appreciated his leadership and um like I said that's that's what I was just wanted to pass that on and I'll I'll let her know. Um Erin I know um has um you know talked to us and I know there will be some more information coming forward as to you know where we're going but all the projects that you currently see all of the current cases everything will continue to move forward as planned and all of our new staff that we had hired of course are doing really great work here. So yeah, so probably I I'll let her know and then either before at the next meeting for sure you'll you'll know what kind of where her direction is and and where we're going next.

3:510

Great. Thanks.

3:52 – 5:490

Thank you very much. Yes. Um I wanted to share a few few positive things too while we have a minute. So um and this this is uh in part um planning commission as well. So this isn't just staff or this is planning, engineering, transportation and but um we attend some of you uh may know um Mr. Jurassic knows cuz he attended with me uh in College Station last week but our APA state conference uh city of Temple um has uh received a Richard R. Lily award um for planning excellence. And so basically it's based on a number of of points and it includes training that planning commissioners had received transportation master plans things like love rebuild um comprehensive planning zoning and so we're we're proud to be on that short list of of cities and um we'll be u bringing that forward on Thursday to city council for the um official announcement. So, didn't bring the official award tonight, but I just wanted to recognize you all as commissioners that this is just as much for your dedication, um, on the board as as well as as staff. And so, um, continue down that that positive path. Um, I think that's it, uh, from my side of things. The UDC, um, so we had we've already sent out phase one signs. Um, thank you to all of you who who had attended the science stakeholders meeting last Thursday. Um so that that was appreciated your input and also any of the residents and development community uh to attend that. So we've got that feedback. We've got feedback from TABA. We've met with them already on it. Um we'll be having a couple more meetings and then that will go uh to you u probably in the next couple months for um a review and a workshop similar to what Christina presented tonight and then on to council. once we've gone through all the six phases of the UDC.

5:46 – 7:180

This is obviously a large project. Um we're looking into um late next year. Um and then we'll have all of the phases together in one document call our implementation phase which is phase 7 and that's [snorts] where we'll have one two. So you'll have a crack at phase one look at the signs based on all our comments and then phase two will be roles and procedures. Phase three will be subdivisions kind of like what I had shared in a previous meeting with you. So um so that's going well. Um, and I think that's it. And all of the other items from the previous council meeting passed and, uh, coming up this week in addition to the Lily award, um, we have a cup for, um, liquor sales. Um, if anyone had any questions on that, uh, we are recommending denial just due to inconsistency with the, um, temple master plan and some of the crash and safety um, issues as well as, um, the neighbors that had raised some concerns. But that um I think if it was just the neighbors, you know, we we're still basing our our judgment on planning principles, but the fact that there were um pretty heavily trafficked area and lots of um you know, safety concerns regardless of of the resident's position, but that certainly made it more contentious. So, um that's the position there and the city council will make that decision. I'll looked at that already. Uh if anyone has any other questions for me and we can get started with the regular um PNZ meeting and thanks again for everybody's input. [snorts]

7:17 – 8:010

Thank you. Yeah, the one you just brought up is the one that we voted or we recommended 100%. Is that the one we're talking about? Yes. All right. Thank you, Mr. Fischer. Yes. Thank you. Um, tonight we're going to Commissioner Morales will give our invocation and Commissioner Carney will do our pledge when we have our normal scheduled meeting. Mr. Atkinson, do we have any affidavit? Uh, commissioners, for the record, no affidavit to abstain have been received for this meeting. Is this correct? Thank you. With that said, um, is there any additional approvals for the workshop? That will close at
