Town Council - Regular Meeting

1 A and one double A. Good evening everyone. Welcome to the March 9th Stallings Town Council meeting. We'll begin with an invocation and will Stephen to lead us, please.

All right. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for just letting us be here tonight to uh uh you know, work with the town and listen with the town and and hopefully you'll impeach upon us. uh good knowledge and wisdom so that we can make the best decisions tonight. Uh just want to take a moment to just say uh watch over the world. Obviously the last uh couple of weeks have been very uh full of turmoil and uh just lay your hand on that situation and these things I pray in your son's holy name. Amen. Amen. To the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Call this meeting to order. And we start off we have public comments. There are two kinds of comments today. the public comments. The part that's coming up next is for those who wish to speak on anything related to the town of any sort. Um the comments that I think a lot of you are here for is the public hearing and you'll have an opportunity to do that shortly. So the public comments none. Whoa. Okay. We move to the consent agenda. How it goes the council.

that's unanimous. Move into uh reports. Um starting with uh me. Um last week was up at the essentials of municipal governance of uh up in school of government in Chapel Hill. spend a couple days um learning, relearning, refreshing. It's always a good opportunity to go back every couple years and you know, you be amazed what you forget, but also be amazed at what comes down the pike that the state government throws at us that we need to do things uh and recognize what we're doing for some some the legalities of what we do. We have to know what we're doing. So I appreciate the opportunity of the school of government to go to teach us those things and um the council starting with Stephen.

Hey really all I have is from Wuma. U I would say the top three things that came out of Wuma this time around was number one um Weddington obviously was the target of some of the organized gain breakins. Uh safety related issue occurs. Um the second thing that came up was um I've said before that we're kind of like slightly one generation ahead of most at uh the American Legion baseball and come to Wuan and has requested each town to consider potentially some type of monetary donation to them for this season. So just as an awareness and that's really it from Bluma.

Thank you Graham. uh just wanted to give it the greatest of shape and then the following day went to our park and was amazed by how wellkept it is. Um no trash the maintenance essentials of municipal government course. Um it was a great learning experience. I appreciated the mayor being there. Our town manager Alex Su was there as well. Uh,
