started. Um, first thing is uh we will Did everybody get did you get a chance to look at the meeting minutes from last night? Yes, I did. Yes. And everybody agrees with that. Um, I agree with that. You agree with that? We should probably mention that we're the only two here tonight. Yes. I'm sorry. Josh Single is not present. Alyssa Hall is not present. So the roll call is Kim Livingston and Medina and Medina. I'm here and Tim. Okay. Oops. Something happened. Currently, we do not have a police report for the month. Um, Josh Coons is not here. Um, fire department is not here. So, we do not have a report from the fire department. Next would be the water. Less is here. Less, I am here, but the report's not here. The report's not here. No, I actually I had planned on going back home today, but we got stuck here locating. Okay. So, we just stayed in town because it was 5:30 the time we uh got done locating. So, I didn't have time to run home in the back. So, Okay. But, uh as far as the permit or actually the uh sorry, the wastewater report, there was no violations on the report and that's a good And because I talked to Jill about
the the uh the fact that I think the last two months we haven't had any issues with meeting our permit limits. Mhm. And usually the heat's when those things like to show up, right? Yeah. Yeah. And you know, we've done a few things different. Of course, we cleaned the contact tank which needed it. I mean, that could have said there's a lot of sludge in there. Yeah. We There was so much sludge in there that could have contributed to the fact that uh it was, you know, it was causing our BODs to go up and of course the solids. So that helped and then the fact that we did get a new u new meter at the plant to do our testing and that seems to have made you know a difference in our uh our numbers. It's actually reading accurate. Yeah, it's actually reading accurate and that's one thing I want to talk to you guys about. uh you know you can buy you can get check samples uh like we can get like one every six months and uh we can check our accuracy that way. They'll send the samples we analyze calibration. Yeah. Yeah. We can analyze them and match it up with our equipment and make sure we're in uh you know within the range they said. What is that? I think they're like $300 a set and that includes everything. And then, you know, it's just a way of checking your accuracy. So, it costs roughly $600 a year. Yeah. I think in the the state we're in, it might be a good idea. Yeah, I think so, too. So, how about the storms? Any any overwhelming issues lately? No. No. No. Uh except you know the lift station on uh Franklin you know it's still you know
having issues as far as keeping up. Yeah. Is there anything more we can do? Well I mean you know I thought Jill was supposed to be here. No, hurry. No, she she sent over the one report and Oh, okay. wanted us talk about it, but but that's one of the areas I know you guys were not here and I wasn't here. That's one of the areas that they they actually uh lined the sewers around that area to eliminate that. But then again, when it rains, there's a lot of excess flow getting to that lift station. something from somewhere. So that's probably another area to investigate when they do the when we first start televising that that may be where we need to concentrate on it. Do we know when that's supposed to start? No, we don't have anybody. We've just got quotes. So we um on the IDM sheet, we said by by June we will have that started. So we have got that started the televising for for the town. Um, we've got the quotes, you know, Jill's sending out um the need for it and then we're gonna start getting quotes back for that. Okay. So, we actually met met everything on the list so far. Great. That we uh that we have said that we're going to do. So, just kind of looking at what we talked about last time, make sure we probably should I'll make a motion to approve um the June 3rd meeting minutes. Yeah, second that. Put that in there.
But I will send you guys I'll email you the report. Yeah. Okay. So, I had every intention to go home because my son, he's out. He wanted to go home. So, but he's stuck out there now. Got to have to wait, huh? Yeah. And I can't wait out of town. Did hydrant flushing go as you thought? It went really well. I mean, it took us a lot longer than what we anticipated, but that's that's to be expected. We made sure we got them when we got every thoroughly flushed. Uh the worst part of town was in the north uh northwest around in that area. Uh it was considerably uh you know you know I sent you guys out of that. So yeah. So with that being said um no go ahead. Next time though, we need probably need to get a updated uh diffuser with a gauge on it so we can record the flow and everything at the time we flush. Well, we don't really have anything to do that. It's an old diffuser. It doesn't have that capability, but we need to purchase one. I mean, you're talking like $300 or $400 for a good one that'll give us uh pressure and flow. And so we can record that down and maybe later on we can uh basically uh based on the flow of the hydrant, you're supposed to color code it a certain color like the bottom, the top, you paint it orange or yellow depending on the flow of the hydrant. That way when the fire department uh if they have a fire they can go they can identify which titrant to go to by the bonnet collar. So there's actually a color code that goes along with that. It's like which ones would be strongest or weakest.
Okay. The most flow out of it. Well that makes sense. That makes sense. Yeah. But we we can do that this fall if if you guys would like to get that done. You know we can do that. We can get another diffuser and make sure we record everything. You said they're about $300. Can you get us a solid quote on it? If you get us a solid quote on it, we probably can swing that along next month or whatever. Yeah. And it'll be September or October before we do that again. Did you find an old fire hose? Well, not a one. We got We had to borrow a fire hose from the fire department to flush the one at the end of uh Riverbin. Wow. Because it's when that heal the last time we flushed it all ran down into the people's garages. So we were able to hook up to the hydrant on the end and we had to put it into the sanitary. Did you look into any of the capital improvement stuff for the rate study? Well, actually Jill has got some kind of idea of various things to put in there. Oh, good. I talked to her yesterday, Jack yesterday about it and I guess we're going to collaborate and get something put together. Awesome. Perfect. Awesome. Yeah. Just if you keep me in the loop, I'll be able Oh, the hydr hydr. Yes, that's 1946 hydrant. You can't get partial. So, you just have to replace needs replaced. You pulled on that? Yeah, sure. Hydrates right $3,500. Okay. Yeah, I know. You know, pretty much that's how much they are. Yep. You know, the labor in it.
We did have a um my neighbor across the street. She went to flush her toilet and it just started backing up into her um house. So, she actually called the plumbers. Yes, you're aware of Mildred's situation. So, I guess the ground the ground pounding on the Xfinity cable uh broke through hers or busted it. So, they took care of it. They they were prompt to take care of it. They they did a very good job. But when we were there, they had to go through my manhole. And when they went through my manhole, they had found, you know, in the main there was some like right at our four-way there was some toilet paper buildup and stuff. And he suggested First Street get jetted. Oh, really? Yeah. He was like And he showed me cuz I was looking. I was like, "Yeah, yeah, I see that." Okay. It was coming through the main. So my my pipe was coming in here. Hers was going out here. It was the one coming in. It was just kind of a big old wad. So, probably wouldn't hurt that we look into jetting that um first street before more buildup gets there. I mean, it'd be anybody's house, but it's in front of my house. So, I'm like, "Yeah, let's get on that." But, uh, we'd get on it anyway. So, I'm just saying it it's something maybe we need to look at cuz you you know where I live. Oh, yeah. If you could pop that off and see if that thing's still there and maybe understand what they were looking at or we were looking at, um, I'd appreciate that. All right. Yeah, sure. Um, all right. Anything else? Well, actually, there is has had several she missed like what was it? 39 meters. 39 39 meters never read this month. Oh. So I normally do and it didn't come out. I talked to utility
utility supply yesterday and I suggest I thought maybe they could reboot the antenna or the equipment at the tower to try to maybe get it to read better, but they didn't seem to think that was a good idea for some reason. They said check the check the antennas inside the pits. H. So I like to get a list and then we'll go around and check you know basically the list and see full of water from storm water. That's supposed to not affect supposed to. So they didn't read like 39 different ones. A lot of them on there's always problems on first street and there's always problems in the river. So they didn't read for how long? Well, this is the first time I've had that many. I mean, I've been going around. I think we need to have some boosters put up somewhere because on the far south side of town, there's always one that doesn't read down there. First street's always the other one that doesn't read. It's like I don't know if the trees are getting in the way of the antenna or, you know, blocking everything, but it's random sometimes. So, you have to go manually read it then when that happens. Yeah. I just start I drive around. I have a um iPad and a antenna that I carry with me and you you can read them like that. It's just not getting to the station, right? Okay. So, we're not right. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So, that leads us to the fact that uh I mean they are reading but signals just not getting it's like not broadcasting or something. Okay. Right. And they said that could be the antennas. If somebody gets in them pits and messes with them, they could pull the antenna out of the uh out of the head of the unit, it'll still read, but the antenna won't transmit where it's supposed to. So, that's what we're going to we're just
going to have to go around check. I mean, it can make sure that they're, you know, hooked up properly and everything. So, Alina would give us a list and do that. I ones past I think we've had problems with like this water in the pits and it's covering the antenna wires and stuff. So it's like I know it might not ruin them but it might block their signals. Yeah. Eric has pull some up and attach them to the lids before because they were in the water and they wasn't reading. See, and that's another thing. I don't know. You know, of course we wasn't here during the uh installation of the new meters, right? Uh, so I don't know what their contract said. You know, most of the time utility supply will say put the antennas in on top the lid so it's exposed. So to get the signal out further, but most of these are under the lid. So I they'd be they'd be ran over if they're I promise you we'd be we'd be destroying them every That's why they make a lid. especially before that they make a lid that's recessed and that antenna fits down and it's flush with the top. So I don't know I'm just throwing that out there. It might be the fact that some of the some of the reason it's not So it's 39 this time. What's a normal amount just for perspective? Probably about 15. Okay. So quite a bit more. Yeah. Quite a bit. I mean usually and like this time it was almost a whole street and it was just crazy. Yeah. And then I I'm driving around everybody thinks I'm stockings. I'm sure. I'm sure this is like big with your iPad in your antenna, right? Yeah. Uh actually yesterday we had a situation where they they wore
right through the meter bed and it actually knocked the meter out of it. So I was here and I was able to they were able to dig it up and cut their line and we just basically installed the meter back in the bed. It was okay but could have been a lot worse. That's good. Yeah. Let us did any damage at all. It just pushed the meter just knocked it out side. Yeah. No, we talked about that. That's okay. Just making sure we're good. Yeah, let us follow up and let us know about those if you find anything interesting. Okay. Yeah, I'll get a list. Okay, just to make sure we're connected, you know, that's pretty much all I have today. All right, Richard. Yes, sir. You have anything for us? I do. We had actually pretty high numbers with J. We had eight rentals. Plus, we had one rental here at the Civic Center and we had a rental paid for a July event at the gym. WCW wrestling. Mhm. I saw that. From Indianapolis will be here on July 19th. went to the gym. Um they uh they did present their own uh they they had their own liability insurance. They were told since they were going to be charging people to come in uh that uh u and actually having a commercial activity that they needed to provide their own liability insurance. Our treasurer's office agreed. So we went ahead, they they sent it and or something. Um
I think their event is starts at like 7 or something like that. They have to do all the prep before that. So they're they're ready for eight hours or something. Anyway, um they end at 11 11:00 or so, something like that. So they're expecting quite a few people. And uh one of the things I'm not too confident on that we need to look it up. I don't know if it's available is what the u occupant level is for the gym. for the gym. I think it's in the neighborhood of 450. with the seats by the time you count the now seat it's whether you calculate seat size at 18 in 19 in or 16 in which been done all over the so figuring 18 in you three numbers I'll take the and so that's how I calculated that number and even though no one's allowed on the stage there are enough that that should however good this wrestling group is. They had an elementary school that went that had 350 seats and 900 people showed that. Wow. Yeah. And I said, "Did you have your event?" said, "Yeah, but we can only allow 350 because it wasn't elementary school and they knew the occup, you know, the occup uh it might be good for there'll be maybe more people in town. It's not just all local people. They're going to advertise in Shville, Russia, Greensburg." So, I expect that they they'll have a good crowd. I don't know if we can accom I know we can't accommodate the parking in that parking in the parking lot. So, people will be
parking on side streets and uh and then there'll be people complaining about that. Somebody's parked in front of my house. Mhm. Yeah, we might want some crowd control. Maybe we need to consider parking attendant. Like have maybe you just ask them if may possibly somebody that might be a parking attendant or something. Yeah, because people don't park very well at the gym. No, we don't put any we haven't got any lines there. But they could that's a good idea there bosses coming down uh to look at the facility on Sundays that um okay so that's an event coming up and then uh starting this Thursday again with Kedar County Public Health uh will be here at the civic center every first Thursday of the month from 10 a.m. until noon. They still haven't got any flyers. I say that would be great if they did. Or or maybe we should come up with something to post on our Facebook. They have flyers at the at the gas and go. Um Oh, they do. Lucky has them. However, on public health on on the public health um No, we don't. Never mind. No, you're right. I'm sorry. I'll uh I'll check I'll I'll check with them on Thursday when they come. I see that. If they don't They said they had them, but they never sent it to me. They sent me stuff. So, I thought that they sent something. It's the first Thursday of a month. Thursday 10 to 12. 10 to 12. Health screens. They do. They do health
screens. And I said, "What if somebody wants a burst?" Well, we can't get them here, but if they give us bring in all their information and everything, we can get it and we can have it for them the next month or if they've got everything that's needed, we can a form and everything they'll have. Then you mail it to I think she even mentioned some like vaccination stuff and they'll come prepared for that certain blood work maybe. Yeah, like lipid profile and things. So, I mean it really be a good service. Cholesterol. Yeah. Lipids. They need to advertise all that and people some people will take advantage of it. Yeah. They said, "Well, 10." I said, "Should we come earlier than 10? You won't get anybody. You come earlier than 10. You better come. If you want to come at 6:00 in the morning, you might get some people." Yeah. 10:00 we get most. You're going to get a lot of older people and people with kids at 10 o'clock if not at that time. Mhm. So, we'll see how it goes. But I'll look through this again at the moment Thursday. And um let's see what else do I have. I don't have anything else here. Um oh, another lesson since Le's here. It's not his issue. But speaking of pipes and things like that, one of the sinks at the gym does not work. The other one very And guess it's it's galvanized. And finally, it is shut off in the in the one sink in the women's restroom. If you want to get your hands wet, I wouldn't try to survive on it by drinking handfuls of water, taking about a minute to get a handful of water. Wow.
So, it's galvanized pipe, I guess, is what it is. It's just over the years. Uh but those are things that are happening there that that are going to need to be replaced and we were talking some this morning. There are some grant opportunities perhaps through county foundation and I'll be glad to to make a call if it's okay with you all see where where we might fit into that. It would be has to be a nonprofit or a governmental head to apply. Yeah, I mean I think so. Absolutely. If we can apply for any grants or if you're willing to do a little leg work on that that'd be fantastic. be glad to do that. Yeah. See what uh can be found. A lot of times their grants are matching grants, too. So, you got to throw in a dime. Yeah. I'll check into it and see what what she does. Great. Are you looking for like a temporary fix so we can install maybe some PS or something like that? remove the galvaniz. Yeah, the uh that would that would be fine for you to look. Yeah, we can take a look at it. Maybe there's something we can do temporarily and get you better water pressure. Well, water pressure is not great, but it used to be fine. That's the culprit. Now, the strange thing is there's there's an old restroom there. It's the old women's uh It's young women's uh restroom visitors. Don might remember this visitors locker
room. Uh but it has restrooms. It has toilets in it. We turned all the toilets off because uh rust has gone every night and uh but did have a a plumber look at this and his recommendation was that that would make an excellent accessible handicap accessible restroom by just cutting in through the wall. eventually cutting in through the wall and it has copper and really Yeah. And uh the difference in the original restor but anyway uh yeah we I'll work with less and if we can get pecs in there that would make a lot of improvement to it and people can at least wash their hands make it easier to clean. Absolutely. Okay. Well, so we'll let you know what happens. When do you think you'd be available to help us look at that? Be real nice if we could do it before the wrestling thing. Yeah. July 19th. Yeah, we can do that. Yeah. Uh I'll be around. I don't know. Are you in town tomorrow? Yeah. Okay. I'll be back tomorrow. I'll give you my number. Where? Okay. Yeah. I'll give you your number. And thank you guys. Appreciate All right, Josh. Yeah, sorry I'm late. No, it's okay. Yeah, for the record, it's not human remains. It was possibly a swine. So, okay. Yeah. Swine was on. Okay. Uh for the month of June, um we had seven calls for service, uh nine warnings, two citations, uh one vehicle lockout, two child checks, um two golf cart permits, and one abandoned vehicle tag. I had a total of 80 hours and eight of that hours was training. Uh Joey had 21 and a half hours and eight of that
eight hours of those were training. Austin had 18 and a half hours. Um I have two things. One I forgot to talk tell you about when I was on the phone with you. But um the first one is the request for the road closure for our choppers. Did you bring that up already or I have not. Um every year we do our choppers for coppers event. This year it's July 26th. Um, the police department's requesting a road closure um got on that date from maybe 7:00 a.m. till 10 111ish at 9. We should be wrapped up by 10 I would think, but uh 11:00 maybe to be safe. Um from North Webster Street um from the railroad tracks to the police department so we don't mess with the museum. Um and then um East Washington Street from North Jackson to Webster to that intersection. So like an L shape. So is that okay if we close that for the day? Yeah. I don't have a problem with that. You you'll you barricade it or you got barricaded and we always notify the the people who live on That's what I was about to ask so everybody's um uh another thing that I have I'm sure you've caught in by now. Um I tagged a vehicle yesterday um that was I was told to do so by the council. I did. Um someone unrelated to that residence was extremely yesterday and um it's probably some backlash. So, be prepared to um get an air full from someone it was tagged because it was abandoned or No, it was um the town had sent them a letter for cleanup. Okay. They didn't. Um so, then I don't know if you remember last month you had mentioned tagging a vehicle. Our tags are only for 72 hours, so we wanted to wait. Um they were given a letter. Um I don't have all the dynamite, but um when they received the letter, 10 days past. Um, still no clean up. So, I tagged the vehicle at that point. Um, the t of the vehicle's now been removed. Um, but
I'm going to call I guess a friend a friend of hers um is very upset about that. So, I'm sure you'll hear you'll hear about it if you haven't already. We haven't I mean, we've heard about them being upset, but we haven't heard anything else. So, okay. All right. and might just might just be chirping or they may have legitimate I mean if they come to us then that's fine we can talk about it you know um actually I did bring up all one more thing if I may um the last several months we've been discussing a loud motorcycle in town um I just had an epiphany one day and I don't know why I didn't think about this before um but disorderly conduct would fit that profile um he has had a very stern disorderly conduct warning if it happens again he knows the repercussions so that should have taken care another problem and it's been a couple weeks and I haven't heard any complaints about it. So, okay, I think I've fixed that issue about that. Great. That would be awesome. Thank you. Yeah, I've heard about that a few times from few different people lately. Personally, not couple weeks. Okay. Well, they personally have came to my house. I'm like, come on. So, nothing from the last couple weeks then? I haven't in the last couple weeks. Okay. Um, yeah, he's he's very clear not to to do it again and he knows the repercussions. Thank you. You're very welcome. And I don't know why I'm sorry. I don't know why I didn't think of disorder of conduct to begin with, but I just happened to think about it and ran by the prosecutor's office and it's good to go. I can't even confiscate the motorcycle for evidence that it gets that far. So, y hopefully it don't. Nobody wants to lose their bike. Yeah. Um I did get your email about the response when you went and checked those. Yeah. Um can you elaborate just a little bit what you I don't recall exactly the measurements that I sent you. I guess I can look through my email. Um, no need to do that. You guys had asked me about North Jackson. Yeah, North Jackson and Franklin Street. Yep. Um, is it 15 ft? Is that what I said? I have all my measurements down and I can
post an email to Tim. Um, are we talking about the stop sign right now by that stop sign and in fact every stop sign down North Jackson Street, the stop signs are way away from the intersections. They are. And 15 I think one was like 18 ft. I mean, we're talking a car length and a half or something. That's that's pretty good distance. Um especially the one by the gym. Um School Street in North in North Jackson. That stop sign is way back. Um and they say normally that's agriculture reasons, but yeah. So I spoke to a representative from Shelby County Highway Department. I just happened above the zone. I said, "Hey, while you're here, I have a question." Um they try to put them as closest to the intersection as possible. They're, you know, being in rural areas, they will have farm equipment. So sometimes they have to put it back. I couldn't I know Hubers and occasionally Coco Myers will go down North Jackson Street, but they're not going to make any turns. I think they always turn here on East Washington Street. I I can never remember a grain cart or anything turning on any other side street other than East Washington Street that I've witnessed. So I don't think agriculture would play a factor. If you need to move, stop sign closer. There is an occasional camping camper. You know, they get lost trying to get out from Hidden Paradise, but occasionally we've had some lost semis as well that's taken down some stop signs, but it's kind of rare. It does happen, but it's few and far between. Um, and that would happen in any neighborhood, though. Yeah. Um, I I checked into um I've seen some stop signs in in more urban areas that have the little spinners on top. You remember how much they were? $150ish dollars. I think that's what he So, that's something you can do. Um, if Brooks are interested, we could put a um a stop or something or whatever they're called, the white the white at the intersection. That's something to to think about. But um that stop sign's pretty far back from the interst.
Yeah, that might be there. And also from the tavern on to Franklin, whatever that road is, front of the museum. Yeah. People are always maybe there. And also like where in front of the museum coming out onto Franklin, you know, people come from the tavern don't realize that that Franklin's not I think it's Franklin. It is. Yeah. It's not stopping. You know, I've gotten that's probably a known place too there and stop and down on Jackson. Yeah. The stop stripe. Yeah. Well, thanks for that idea. Something we might look in talk to John about that. That's pretty exclusive stuff. Yeah. But yeah, thank you. You're very welcome. Okay, so that that wraps up all them. Um, so I guess yeah, I guess we'll get we'll get our guests started. So we don't have to wait for the whole evening since you've been talking with them. Okay, this is Alex Offman. Am I saying that correctly? and Jas Samurai and they're with Tiger Truck Stops. Yes. Yes. And so they're proposing an idea for a truck stop. So go ahead and present what you would like to say now that we're an official meeting. We talked about it a little bit before, but yeah, we we purchased the land to be truck stop, which is our commercial zoning. We did the plan engineering everything. When we get this, we ask the county here there is any room for sanitation. Sewer line, they say 15% available. Mhm. When we finish everything, we try to start to build construction. Yeah. There is no room for sanitation. They ask us for septics. Yes. Septic tanks. Mhm. But there's enough of ground here for septic tank. Mhm.
And they say they give it our sanitation 15% to fire department. Mhm. So, so yes. Um, the big question, I'm sorry. The big question I asked when we purchased that land, we start the project to do with the permit. Mhm. The counties, they told us there is a grant to help us for something. I don't know what kind of grant. I saw the way is different way. Now I have to do septics. If we do septics, we have not enough room. Yes. So our situation at this time is there's there's been a few interests out at there. You guys being one of them. Our town is ran on a lagoon system. Um we do we have a water treatment play plant. We do not have a wastewater treatment plant. Um, we are overwhelmed at this point. Um, we have already had to deny extra sewer to Love's Gas Station as they were wanting to do some add-on project and we had to tell them that right now we cannot do anything because we are actually working through some fines with the Indiana Department of Envir of Environmental Management right now. Um, we have no capacity. We we've even told we've told our people in town we cannot add additional sewage to them as well. We have been working hard trying to figure out how to get a wastewater treatment plant. Um there's been a couple industrial manufacturing uh suppliers that's been interested and we was like if we can help us if you can help us figure out how to do a wastewater treatment plant this will be
awesome opportunity for everybody. Um, if we can find a way for that area up there to clean their own waste water and re, you know, be able to recirculate it and we, you know, and provide it back to you. We could do that. But, but they, it is correct. Right now, we cannot we're we're overloaded. We we have no capacity. We are currently working through trying to figure out what we can do but it it's going to cost even on like a tri county level maybe something that we could share Shelby Rush and Decatur um you know but as far as the timing wise if it's something you're looking to do right now you know we're we're right now if you wanted to do something almost immediate it would have to be septic and and it's it's a it's beyond us. I mean, we're we're not we wouldn't be denying you. We'd be telling you that we can't we would be in trouble if we provided you think I have to do to stop waiting. I wait couple years now. Yeah. I'm an engineer. I have little bit experience. I have too many projects everywhere. Mhm. Uh if you are behind with septics with sanitation if we don't do any in our project we don't do any shower six seven showers whatever if we cancel it and love they cancel the shower service. Mhm. I think we'll be okay without showers. It's only bathrooms. I'm sorry. Just rooms not that. No, I I understand. and will be okay for everybody. That would be something contrary to one
reserve the problem. Mhm. And I understand what you're saying. I like I said, I wouldn't want to I wouldn't want to stop that. However, we would have to get with our water engineering to see what kind of capacity that would even if that was even an option just be simply because like I said we are under we are under the radar right now with IDM. They are already finding us for other things because we don't have capacity already to add any other sewer. Water's not an issue. That's the thing. Water we could provide. We could provide water no problem. We just wouldn't be able to sew is not big deal. We can water is not the big deal. Water well and it's the sewer. I did that in Columbus in one of my project. The sewer is our issue. The sewer the sewer we found solution for septics under the ground. It doesn't need to take two three acres. It's coming under the building room like this is is called from Germany system. now is approved, certified from Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio. It's cost is around $400,000, which is way cheaper than what they're wanting for us to build a water treatment plant, though. I think they was it 13 million? Yeah. I try for the company to approve it, the system, everything. is big amount of money to pay for something I don't own it in my budget. So they told us there is sewer there. Yeah. And they give it to fire department. You cannot say nothing. Right. Yeah. So when we this was years before our time. But when they approved the sewer and water for Love's gas station, they supplied their own plumbing. you
know, they paid for that whole thing to go out there and then it's just been grandfathered in this whole time. Um, another thing that you might not know is that we only supply them the water and sewer. They're actually not part of the town of St. Paul. Um, the town of St. Paul ends at this Dollar General that's right here. So as far as out there, one thing that we have requested and we've talked with them about it that if we do move on in the future, we would like to talk about annexation and them becoming part. That would be another thing that we would ask if if that would be an issue with you guys as well that if we came into partnership together with something like this that you guys would consider the annexation to become part of the town. We're working on how to get out there at this point because that whole strip is not part of the t the town as well. I can do my my own certics just I I'm behind with the land not enough for I mean if you have any extra land next to it we don't we can use it. We don't none of that's ours. None of that is up there. what they have to do to wait. I would say we'd have to wait. Um simply because we're trying to work with the tri counties like she was saying to see if we can get a multi- connection to be able to do a wastewater because we're not the only town that our town next to us, they're in a different county because that's the county line road that you guys are wanting to build on. So Shelby County and then directly behind you starts Rush County. So, we have three different counties there. Well, there's two towns right now that are struggling with their water systems as it is. And we've been in talks and I I don't think it's going to be a quick solution, but we've been working with
the three counties on what we can do to try to come together to get some kind of a wastewater treatment. But at this point in time right now, we do not have a solid plan. That's the best I have. So no, he was just I mean if he go with the the plan he has Mhm. the expensive route for the septic is there something uh S Paul or city they can help them out with the cost of it? I I would love to say yes. Um there is a which there is a situation that we have where we have no money. our our town has no money right now. Um it's something that that has happened that we're trying to catch up with. So we we're in no we're in no position to be able to fund anything or to help with funding. But I mean any other way like uh if there I know you guys don't have money and all that. Is there's like a different uh like tax abate or something like that? The town mobile? Well, we're we're looking for like, you know, grants that will cover the tri county, you know. Um I can't think what it's called right now. As far as tax abate, no, because it's not part of the town of St. Paul. We get no tax benefits from Love's Gas Station. We have no tax, you know, we provide them service, but we get nothing in return except for the bill that that they pay. So, we don't have anything tax. Go ahead. Not that'd be the cable county the county. Yeah, that'd be county effects. We particular person or somebody we can talk there and maybe we can set up a similar meeting with them and we can just
present our agenda to them too about right up front. I don't have a name but we do have your emails right you have their you have their contact information. Um, do you have a card or anything that you could leave us? Um, we can definitely get you names of people to be able to do that. And I understand. I I see the frustration and I understand. Very bad. I Yeah, they told us there's a grant. Thank you. They told us there is sore blind in a 15%. I try with my engineer. I told him cancel the showers just needed couple bathrooms which is nothing and let us start. I seen everybody try to stop me and they know the counties here they need one more truck stop over there. Absolutely. Yeah, we could definitely benefit. I don't feel any help any hold my project two years of waiting and there is no yeah we just need some kind of support from county or city so we can move forward with the project I mean it benefit everybody I mean like he said right now the traffic there with the loves is crazy and if there's another one there and that will help that out and I mean whoever benefits from tax they will Mhm. Right. If if Yeah. And like I said, we we don't have the means to help. Would we we be willing? Absolutely. We want to see progression. Yeah. I mean, that's exactly why we kind of started spinning wheels towards trying to figure something out with Tri County because it's cost prohibitive for us to go about it ourselves, you know, and so we need annexation from companies. we need the support of the counties around us to be able to even hope to come up with any kind of funds, you know, and and then,
you know, of course, rates are going up to support it and things like that. So, I think it might be something that, you know, hopefully will be in the future, but as far as like, you know, that helping you right now sanitation, we cancel the whole showers and just we keep it for two. Well, we really we really have brush for two or two. I mean, I believe we have an actual like a ban to add on right now. We're under a early warning ban, sewer ban, under early morning sur. And actually, the reason why is because we're hydraulically overlating the lagoons. Our sewer system is so aged that uh there's inflow and infiltration getting into the pipes. Rain water, you know, when we have a rain event, it's just for us or for everybody for everybody in town. It needs a great So if we can get them issues taken care of, that might be a different story. But as of right now, we're under a a greed order and early warning ban. So our hands are tight, aren't they? Yes, that's our position, too. We would love to have you. We would love to have you. It's not not for lack of want, but you know, we we definitely would not be done with the conversation. We I mean, we could talk with county people with you as well. The problem is because that exit is not part of town of St. All we're really nobody except for somebody who can supply you utilities. No, that we don't have. Yeah. If you guys right now, you understand our situation. If you can take that to county and give them a heads up like, okay, we we want a meeting with them. This is what our agenda is and how they can help us and we go from there. Absolutely. And and we
we won't be done here. I we'll talk to our engineering uh company that that does all this stuff, but like Les said, he he is our water. Uh we are we are under an early warning. So there's not a lot we can do immediately. It it wouldn't be a you know, here's a plan right now, but we hopefully we can all take a step in the right direction. We want to see we want to see you there. Thank you. If if we can make it happen, unfortunately, we can make it happen with no funds and uh not being able to supply sewer, then right now, but we're in that same boat. Um we we've had to we've had a lot of people, you know, say, well, we've provided, hey, you know, you're in you're a large industrial section. if you want to benefit from this, help us. Let's let's let's work on how we can get a water system and then you could be out there and they've kind of those people disappear. Oh yeah, nobody's been interested in helping us at this point. Nobody has said no, but nobody starts talking about it anymore. So, I think they see the situation we're in and it like scares them or just not interested in helping. I think a lot of big companies are also look at it what they going to get out of there. You know what I mean? And then they're looking for their benefits and if the section isn't in accounting, not you guys, they going to go with them and see what they can do. Absolutely. So maybe that's why I'm like hopefully if we can work together, we can maybe accomplish something there. [Music] Well, we'll I mean we'll keep in contact. We we'll we'll contact who we need to contact, be able to give you some county resources. county resources and and that's why I did all the search and everything. Finally, I got hold of
Kimberly. I was like, "Oh, please. I need to check out." She's very good, communicated with me instead of this meeting and everything. And that's why like if you can give us another score or similar meeting with them and and that will help us a lot. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, and that's what it takes is industry coming in and, you know, kind of similar to when Honda came into Greensburg and Greensburg's water changed. You know, I mean, there has to be a need and a want and then a discussion and so, you know, we wish we could just say yes, granted, but unfortunately, we're kind of between a rock and a hard place. Well, that's understandable. Okay, so now you guys understand where we're at, so you can maybe understand the the struggle that both of us are in and uh hopefully we can come with a resolution. Yeah, I hope so. Yes. Okay, thank you so much. Thank you guys. We we appreciate your time. We really do appreciate your time. We'll keep in touch. Thank you so much. It's nice to meet you. Thank you. Okay. I don't think this is necessary because it was brought to our attention in the public and so we talked about it in the public and I think all the corrections and stuff I think that's not we don't need to drag them and all that. Okay. You know what I mean? Cuz we already talked about next steps and how to do that. So I think that can be a discussion between us and cl managers. Okay. Do you agree? Well, I don't Yeah, I don't really know, you know, how to proceed with that because we we had talked about it. Alyssa and I had talked about it and so she's like, you know, she wants direction on what to do next. Well, sounds like sounds like it might be coming out anyway. So, we'll wait next month. See what happens. Okay, sounds
good. All right. Um, next I think we're getting there. This is not here. We got to do the Okay. No ordinances? No, they've never got back with uh with us on on the correct wording of the burn ordinance. I I turned the burn ordinance in and Alex uh got with the fire safety compliance people and they said that that would be something that they'd look into, but they don't have time right now and we're just waiting. I saw some hours for uh fireworks in county. Oh, for the fire. Well, this is for burn. This is burn. I think fireworks is fireworks is going to be a separate entity on that stock. Yeah, I skimmed through these earlier, but I didn't see anything. This stuck out. Strange. Okay. That's with that additional overtime only additional time. Thank you. take those out. Do we want to let poor Les get out of
here since his voice? Leah Les, you're free to go if you if there's nothing else you're interested in. Yeah, that was helpful since your boy's out there. Sounds like y'all had a long day. You guys were fighting. Well, no. He's been in here before and it's air conditioned in here. I know. Well, thank you very much. Thank you, Les. Have a good one. Do you have anything for us besides all the adjustments there? Do you have any questions on those? Honestly, there's really not a whole lot been quiet. Yeah, good. That's always good. It's just stated you get something for the readings and stuff. So discuss that. There's not there's not a whole lot. This is a lot of papers attached. I was like, what is for $84? It prints for every it prints like every time you touch the thing. Like I was like, what else is on here? That's where I met.
This one don't have paper clip. This one don't have paper clip. Neither does that one. Sorry. It's okay. Yeah, I'm guessing this goes with this. Let's see. Says seven. Oh, wait. No, don't know. This was just in there. Well, what's the name on it? It's a history print out of the whole. Maybe it's just to show us. Serena. Serena Lee. It goes with this one. It went with that one. Okay. The $3 one. Serena. Okay. [Music] I just said you one thing and it comes out 15 things. I'm sorry. [Music] Well, and then the signature on the uh we did that. Oh, it's right here. Actually, I was kind of using it to make sure that we covered everything.
Okay, we did a stop sign. We didn't touch that yet. No, that's old business. That was last that was a month. Okay. Sorry. I didn't I didn't think I didn't think we came to this agreement there. We didn't come to an agreement, nor neither have we really came up with something. I I had talked to John about taking a look Yeah. at what he could do, but he has had a chance to do that. Okay. So, so maybe we could say that we're still working on that so we don't drop it, you know. Okay. So, we could put the We're still waiting to hear from Brooks or the parking in front of the museum and the re reparking stripes for the town. We're taking out the no parking zone and going to actually put stripes in just so it doesn't use the fresh look. There's that. We get done with this part. Um the only other new new business uh that we have is um we were talking about doing the stripes, redoing the stripes in town, taking a look in front of the museum to see if there's any kind of you know what anything we can do. Brook said John Brooks said that he would look into that. He has had an opportunity to um John you John contacted John uh Brooks also and he's going to be doing a pickle court ball. Oh, he's doing it tomorrow. So, we'll be having pickle ball lines on the tennis court as well. Tomorrow and then uh I don't want to be having lunch with those or whatever. You be out there on your your lunch breaks now playing pickle ball. Lunch breaks. Yeah. I don't have lunch break. I I
don't even get holidays. Oh, you need some pickle ball time, right? Actually, it was uh I stopped there the other night. Got all brand new lights out there and they were all playing at 9:30 the other night and basketball. Yeah. They bring their trunk. They got their own lights right now. But the light got fixed, too. I actually uh I found out who the light belonged to and got it located. Had three different addresses on it. Huh. But uh instead of replacing the bulb basement and put all new LED lights. I saw that. It's nice and bright. I think it' be a pretty good deal. Of course, I don't stay up past about 10:00 any of them do. I guess. I don't know. I haven't seen I'm usually in bed by then now that there's pickle ball. I don't know. We might be. Okay. Anybody got anything else? Any public comment? Motion to adjurnn. I'll second that motion. All right. All in favor? I Thank you. Thank you.
