I have one. I just want to remind everybody that Sunday, October 4th, is the Walk for Women, our benefit walk. Unfortunately, we will not be having casino night this year, but we will still be supporting women who are battling breast cancer in the Lower Reground Valley, and all proceeds do stay in the valley. So the walk is free, but we do accept donations. It starts Sunday. Registration's 8.30 at the Convention Center. We walk down to Louie's. And just please remember us and save the date.

Now we'll move to item number five, which is 5.1, which is discussion of possible action to approve the new interlocal agreement with Cameron County regarding property for the South Padre Island Birding Center and Nature Center.

Hello, I'm Darla LaPere with the South Padre Island EDC.

And Lauren Habel, president of the board at the Birding Center.

And we're here this evening to request for approval of the renewal of the agreement for the boardwalks that are on the county land. And it was a 20-year lease, and it's coming due in November. This agreement that's in the packet was approved by the EDC board and the Birding and Nature Center board. It was sent to the city attorney, Ed Segonowitz. He said he was OK with the language. So we're just here to answer any questions that you might have. The Birding and Nature Center Board is the one that three of the members is the one that drafted it. Pete Moore, he's an attorney, and then Marv Esterly and Richard Franke. And they tried to make it look a lot like the original one. So the county will.

It's just basically bringing it up to date. It was written 20 years ago. And so now that we're a fully functioning organization, they just brought it up to date, basically. So hopefully you all were able to look at it. But if you have any questions, we'll certainly hear those.

And Cameron County is good with it?

So we need to get this today so that way it can be on the October 6th meeting?

No, I wanted to first for you all to approve it. The county does have it.

No, I know, but if we sign it today, is it going to be on the county's meeting on October 6th?

Pete hasn't told me yet.

Great. All right. Next up is 5.2, which is a discussion of possible action to approve a budget amendment in the amount of $19,882 from Fund 03 for geotechnical services related to the wind and water sports venue.

Good evening, Mayor, City Council, Christina Baberka, Shoreline Director. This is a budget amendment for geotechnical services related to the construction at the wind and water sports venue. We get geotechnical construction material testing for all of our construction projects. We did, the city did an RFQ in 2023. We received four qualified forms that city council approved on a rotational list and so my department in public works primarily are the ones that use it and so PSI is next on the list and so that is what this is for.
