We now go to the first reading of ordinance number 29-2026.

An ordinance providing for the submission to the electors of the City of Seven Hills, Ohio, a certain charter amendment pursuant to Article 10 of the Charter of the City of Seven Hills, Ohio, for the purpose of amending Article 5 of the Charter of the City of Seven Hills, Ohio, for the purpose of amending Article 10, Administrative Departments, Boards and Commissions, Section 8, Zoning Board of Appeals to amend the Zoning Board of Appeals process.

I'm just going to say a few words about this. This was brought up at the last meeting. We've talked about this before when we were doing the zoning changes with Jay Stewart. about high 90%, 98, 99% of cities in Ohio go with this process of the zoning board making the decision and that's the final decision rather than sending it to council. I'm on the board of the Northeast Ohio City Council Association and I was just recently at a city council president's dinner and meeting and I talked to approximately 16 or 18 representatives council members from other cities and mayors and every uh person that i've talked to from other cities this is the way that they uh do their zoning variances goes to the zoning board and that's the final decision so i just we're going to do this on three readings and then the third reading uh will be the final reading and then if it passes it'll go to the voters on november 3rd so i just want everybody to know anybody else have any comments on this no council open to the audience for comments Hearing none, reports and communication from the mayor safety director?

All right. Yeah. And I'm here to represent my neighbors of Bonroy. We talked last year about it with Norm and some of the other people on the council about getting speed bumps put on Bonroy Drive because of the cut through, the excess of speed. no sidewalks it's not not good i don't know when we're gonna get our road ever repaved but the last time was probably 20 years ago half the time i've been here 40 years so um i just want to come up and present the fact that you know that's what we're looking for i don't know who we need to talk to but I know we were pushed around last year, but this year we're going to follow through with something to get it done. If you notice, Independence is putting speed bumps all over. So it's a wise thing to do for safety. It's going to slow people down and just make the neighborhood a little bit nicer. So that's what my... thing is all about. And I'd like to talk to Mr. Kelly after the meeting. And since he's our, I guess, our new councilman, since Norm, you know, stepped down and I'd like to discuss that with you.

Okay. I just want to thank the Sevilik family and Jasmine. I was coming home yesterday, and there was a dog walking down the middle of the street, which I thought I recognized. And Mrs. came out and helped me corral the dog and gave me a leash to walk back. So I just want to thank them for that help. It wasn't my dog, no. It was my neighbor's dog, and he's deaf and blind, so I had to walk him back, but I just wanted to thank them for that. That is all. Thank you.

Yes. I just wanted to make a great comment tonight to Evelyn and Judy. Every time I come in here, everything's set out really nice, and I just wanted to say thank you. You put a lot of hard work in it, and I just wanted to say thanks. That's it.

So it was a nice day and also want to thank director Terry for getting us involved with the ribbon rock. It was a good time.
