City Council - Regular Meeting

Mayor Stapp, Here. Let the record show that all council members are present with the exception of Council Member Alvarez.

Perfect. Alright, we'll go right on to our closed session items for the evening, items three point one and three point two, both dealing with confidential personnel matters. Are there any members of the public who would like to comment? Seeing none in attendance, we'll close public comment and recess into closed session. All right.

The time is, I guess, fifty six, and we can reconvene in open session. Madam City Clerk, would you please call the roll?

Thank you. Alright, we'll do our report out from closed session. With respect to item 3.1, the city attorney appointment, council appointed Ashley Crocker with an effective date of 06/03/2026 to the city attorney position. The vote was five-two. And I'm just double checking with our city clerk, do I need to state how the votes went?

Yes, Mayor.

Okay, voting in the affirmative were myself, Vice Mayor Jeff Okrepki, Mr. Alvarez, Ms. Rogers, and Ms. McDonald, Voting in the negative were Ms. Fleming and Ms. Benuelos. For item 3.2 for the interim city manager position, we are pleased to appoint Mr. Jason Nutt to the interim city manager position with the effective date of 06/27/2026, and also pleased to report that that vote was unanimous. Congratulations. That ends the report out from closed session.
