Board of Supervisors - Special Meeting

All right. Good morning. I'll call the order the April 27th, 2026 special meeting in the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors. Madam Clerk, will you please call the roll?

Supervisor Capps. Here. Supervisor Hartman. Here. Supervisor Labanino. Supervisor Lee. Here. And Chair Nelson.

Here. At this time, please stand and join me in pledging allegiance to our flag.

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Madam Clerk, do we have any announcements or changes to today's agenda?

Chair Nelson and members of the board, I just have one quick announcement regarding public participation today. For information on the Board of Supervisors' methods of public participation and instructions on how to provide public comment on items listed on today's agenda or during general public comment, please refer to page two of the agenda individuals who wish to provide verbal public comment may do so via zoom by registering in advance using the link provided on page two please note that zoom is available solely for the purpose of providing verbal public comment and is not intended for viewing the meeting alternative viewing options are listed on page two of the agenda if you have any questions please contact the clerk of the board's office at area code 805-568-2240 again that's number is 805-568-2240. And that concludes my announcements for today.

All right, thank you, Madam Clerk. Please proceed. No, we're moving on to, with the conclusion of general public comment, which is now closed for today's meeting, we will now recess to closed session. Madam County Council, would you please read the items for consideration today?

Thank you, Mr. Chair, members of the board. In closed session today, the board is scheduled to consider two items, conference with labor negotiators for employee county executive officer candidate. The agency designated representative is Chair Nelson. And then the second item is public employee appointment for county executive officer.

All right, thank you. We'll be back in hopefully early afternoon to adjourn today's meeting. Thank you. Before we recess for closed session, I forgot to ask if there are any public speakers on closed session today.

Thank you, Mr. Chair, members of the board. In closed session today, the board met on conference with labor negotiators for county executive officer candidate and public employee appointment for county executive officer, and the board took no reportable action.
