Cemetery Commission - Regular Meeting

So we're going to go straight to the minutes and consider the approval of the minutes of April 27, 2026. Bob, I'd like to have the misspelling my first name corrected in adjournment by Bob. Well, change the IE to Y. Please. Well, I didn't see that change when I reviewed it. It's obviously an error. Sorry, Bobby. Any other comments? I don't think we need to do a formal amendment to correct spelling.

Yes. Motion passed. Fine. Then it is time to receive a brief report from the scheduled commissioners to check the condition of the cemetery. And today, that was only Tim and Gene. Well, they're not commissioners.

It has dreamed up amazingly considering some of our reports of a month, a couple months ago. He finished mowing last Wednesday and it probably could have used it yesterday, but that's just the mowing cycle. And it's not bad by any stretch. The seed heads are starting to pop up in some places, but that's, I mean, I'm sure somebody can complain about it, but there's no getting around that. We can't vote the cemetery twice a week. So other than that, everything looked great. I didn't see anything out of sorts or out of place.

Let's go home where there was no real problem. I think the fourth island, there was a broken bench and a tree.

And there's a tree that needs cut. Yeah. And a tree bust.

How much rain have y'all gotten over the past couple of weeks?

That'd be such an interesting question.

It varies so much from different.

It varies around. We had over an inch. We had right at an inch last night at the house. And so we did it. Unless Brenda's side of the neighborhood was dry. I imagine the cemetery got about the same. We got them each. That's right. Three of us live within two blocks.

Since April 2nd, I had two and a half last night. Since April 2nd, I have had over 27 inches of rain.

Discipline.

You live at the bottom of Spring Lake? I live at the mouth of Purgatory Creek. Those storms follow that path. And I'm two miles in from Rancho 12, and I'm literally a mile before Rancho 12 to my house. All my neighbors will get half the rainfall that I do in any storm. Over 27 inches of rain.

Wow, that's great.

I've got 34 in a year. I know. So that's the wettest spring I've ever had, and I've been here over 40 years.

I'm going to come home to a jungle. It'll be nice though.

We finished mowing Wednesday or Thursday of last week and it's got a good two, three day beard on it already.

Less than a week.

Any other comments on the cemetery condition? Then let's move to brief staff report on the status of the cemeteries.

Not much movement. We have some responses back and forth between engineers. I shared a report with one just a little bit ago. So hopefully we can get some movement, but not much.

That's all I can tell you. We didn't we didn't get it. We didn't get some new signs in for this. Unfortunately, I did not bring a picture of those.

Well, we can try to put those up soon. There were ones that talked about water restriction. So it's just much nicer.

We didn't replace the sandwich board until we got these new signs in and we'll get those replaced.

And the new signs are permanent signage. So they're not sandwich boards. These are nice metal.

How do we adjust for variants in There's there's a little panelist. There's a panel that has both stages. Yeah, we'll go from one to two.

Well, we only have three stages, so that was updated last year. I believe we went from five to three, so it's the same kind of rating, but they just minimize. So we're not jumping to so many stages. The third stage is the most severe.

And that's when we're in a lot.
