It is 04:00, and I am Tim Bauerkenberg, chair of the San Marcos Cemetery Commission, and I will be meeting to order. Last, if staff will call the roll.
Ben Barackenburg. Here. Bay Quiet Gilliam. Here. Deborah Thomas. Here. Robert Moore. Here. Brenda Butler. Here. Cindy Kisparis. Here. Faye Sullivan.
Here.
Cherry, you have a form.
Okay. And, welcome to our who I am guessing are our two new members. So, welcome. And I we do not have anyone signed up for citizen comment, so we will move to consideration of the November meeting minutes. Well, there wasn't a lot involved. I would Google get their approval. Oh, nice. We have a we have a motion.
I second it.
Second. And we need to call roll on this one, I think.
Faye Quiet Gillingham?
I approve.
Fay Sullivan?
I approve.
Brenda Butler?
I approve.
Tim Barakember?
Approved.
Cindy Kisparis? Yes. Deborah Thomas? I approve.
Video locked up.
True. Alright.
We can stop. That's interesting.
So for those who checked the cemetery and how it's how things are faring,
It looks typical as
time of year.
Yep. Brown. Mostly brown. Uh-huh. Looks very neat. I'm sure the last mowing never got out of hand after me. So It did. The one thing I would like a little bit more information on is what were they doing down in the new Perkins edition? I saw three work trucks. Looks like they were laying pipe
of some sort.
Instructor
about the new expansion project. Yes.
They may have. I'm working on PowerLine's long range road
I'm gonna defer to staff on that.
Okay.
Bert would
chime in.
Is Bert frozen?
Or No. That's still
Okay. Oh, his camera's not off.
He's making
a drink. There he is. Yes. But I really looked at
the 72.
Think they were working on lines on Rancho 12, because all the utilities have been pulled out of the center portion of that property.
That was gonna be that was gonna be a question I was gonna have during the cemetery expansion project. Yes. Yeah.
I'd seen Oh, well.
But I figured it was probably the utility relocating and such. But things look good in the cemetery. Yeah. I was through there a week ago, but
Mhmm.
Yep. Good. Okay. Then, we'll move, staff report on the cemetery, expansion status. And
There's not much to report right now.
We're gonna start getting quotes or putting out a RFP, correct, for for the construction?
That that is correct, but just hadn't hadn't quite happened yet. So that's that's where we're at.
So the relocation utilities is part of the project, but it's not something probably that comes out of parks, cemeteries.
Right. Because there's going to be road work as well, there along that section of Old Ranch Road 12. So we're coordinating with engineering and all of that stuff too. So there's gonna be utility components to to all of that too. So I haven't looked to see where they are with that.
But, Bert, you said all the line there were some lines that had to move out of the middle of the cemetery, and those are all
Those are all moved. Those are all moved. And the work that they were doing recently, I'm not real familiar with. I'm gonna have to find out about that. That had nothing to do with anything in internal in the cemetery because all the communication lines, all the had been removed about six months ago.
We're we are coordinating with our streets department. They have a contract for paving, and we're seeing if we can jump on to that contract to help do the interior roads of the new of the new portion. So and also pave some of the roads in the older portion as well. So we're we're we're working through those. I'm getting measurements and all that.
Alright. K. Any other questions about the expansion, construction, Russia, process, project. Okay. There appears to be no, press or public. So I have
a question.
Yes.
Did did we used to have a little place at the bottom where it said things you might wanna talk about in the future?
We did. And, the council changed our bylaws, primarily because not some of the boards, what was happening was they were having full on discussions and, violating Open Meetings Act.
Okay. So, in lieu of that, if there's any future discussions, you or another board member can place it on, or you can talk to your chair to place on if Okay. I kinda feel like we did discuss. Did we ever discuss about the sign that we were gonna put up up on the hill where the indigent or, you know, maybe some slaves and stuff or did we talk about that one time?
We have we've talked about it. So I'm gonna go back under the report of the cemetery, if I may. Okay. So I know that the Friends of the Cemetery still had some funding. Last time that I'd spoken to Mayor Houston because she was the treasurer, The Friends was going to wanting to partner with the
Heritage Association
and potentially do that with the remaining funding that
they Okay. Now it's coming back to me. I kind of remember that.
Okay. I know where that is in the process? I don't. I haven't received any updates. Usually, most of my updates are kind of in passing Yeah. As kind of maybe Mayor Houston has thought about it, but I haven't heard anything recently.
Okay.
Yeah. But, yes, there that is still their intent of of what they're wanting to
do. Okay.
Yeah.
Yeah. I have some of that, but it's not agendized, so I can kinda give you where it was. But nothing has happened with the friends for a while. We'll talk about it once we're out of session. Right. So I will, move, I will entertain motion to adjourn. So move. Second. Second. All in favor? Aye. Opposed? We are adjourned. Is that
another record?
No. The record is at seven, and we're
at eight.
