Welcome to On the Agenda, where we highlight the activities of City of Salina boards and commissions. I'm your host, David Hawksworth. The City Commission meets on Monday, May 11th. Here's a rundown of what's on the agenda. At 2:00 p.m. commissioners will meet as the Lower Smoky Hill Water Supply Access District Board with a review of the 2027 budget and authorizing publication of a notice of public hearing on the budget. A study session providing an update on housing in Salina will take place at 2:30 p.m. At the regular 4:00 p.m. meeting, the City Commission will consider authorizing the sale of general obligation bonds [music] and approving a financial advisor services agreement. Also on the agenda, two resolutions and an amendment to the agreement with HDR Engineering for property acquisition for the Smoky Hill River Renewal Project, and approval of a contract for an operational assessment of the Animal Services Division. In development business, commissioners will consider adoption of the 2024 [music] and 2025 Live Salina Plan supplements. The consent agenda includes approval to submit the 2026 Emergency Solutions Grant application, approval of phase two projects for the 2024 CDBG Housing Rehab Grant, a bid award for the 2026 Sidewalk Improvements Project, a change order for the Temple Parking Lot Improvements [music] Project, and an amendment to the lease agreement with AT&T for parking spaces in Lot 130 on 7th Street. The Planning Commission met on May 5th and approved rezoning the land at 308, 312, 316, and 320 South 4th Street to allow Salina Regional Health Center to construct a new surgery center. They also approved a conditional use permit to allow a group daycare home in an unoccupied dwelling at 315 Oakdale Drive.
