Planning Commission - Regular Meeting

Welcome to On the Agenda, where we highlight the activities of City of Salena boards and commissions. I'm your host, David Hawksworth. The city commission meets on Monday, April 13th. Here's a rundown of what's on the agenda. At the regular 4M meeting, commissioners will hold public hearings on four naming initiatives. the parking lot at Santa Fe Avenue and Ash Street and three areas to be constructed as part of the River Renewal Project. A plaza at Fourth Street South of Iron Avenue, an area adjacent to Lakewood Park, and a trail at Founders Park. Also on the agenda, approval of art and design projects for the new fire station number four, approval of an agreement for employee time and attendance software, and certification of final costs for the 2026 special assessment projects. In development business, the city commission will consider approval of an ordinance reszoning the northwest corner of Ohio Street and Edison Place for the new Salina Family Healthcare Facility, approval of the final flat of the area, and approval of a break-in access along Ohio Street for the facility. The consent agenda includes approval of an addition to the Stone Lake edition phase 3B special assessment district, a bid award for the 2026 Milan Inlay project, approval of a transferey agreement for outdoor dining improvements at Yaya's Eurobistro and Starbucks, and approval of a resolution amending the project authorization for phase one of the West Magnolia improvements project. Here's the city board and commission update. The downtown design review board met on March 26th and approved signage at 104 South Santa Fe Avenue. The planning commission met on April 7th and approved a zoning change at the 9 South edition north of Sam's Club. They also approved a zoning change to allow the former fire station number four on Brier Cliff Road to be used as the city's facility maintenance operations building. removed a condition of approval from the preliminary plat of the Salena family edition at Ohio Street and Edison Place and approved a planned development district for the construction of an office building on

East Crawford Street east of MRy Mount Road. The animal control advisory and appeals board met on April 8th and amended their meeting schedule to meet on a monthly basis. The Board of Zoning Appeals, Thursday, April 16th at 4 p.m. The Planning Commission, Tuesday, April 21st at 4 p.m. The Community Art and Design Committee, Tuesday, April 21st at 4:30 p.m. at the Arts and Humanities Office. And the Downtown Design Review Board, Thursday, April 23rd at 4 p.m. All meetings take place in room 107 of the City County Building unless otherwise noted.
