City Commission - Regular Meeting

Welcome to On the Agenda, where we highlight the activities of City of Salina Boards and Commissions. I'm your host, David Hawksworth. The City Commission meets on Monday, June 8th. Here's a rundown of what's on the agenda. At their 2 p.m. study session, commissioners will continue their discussions on the City's 2027 budget with budget requests from a number of outside agencies. At the regular 4 p.m. meeting, the City Commission will consider authorizing issuance of general obligation bonds for various projects. Also on the agenda, a bid award for the Solid Waste Landfill Scales Project and acceptance of the 2024 Financial Audit Report. Here's the City Board and Commission update. The Planning Commission met on June 2nd and approved a preliminary plat of the Auburndale District Edition on the east side of South 9th Street north of Avenue A. They also approved a final site development plan to allow construction of an office building on East Crawford Street east of Crawford Place. City Board and Commission meetings scheduled through June 19 include the Building Advisory Board, Tuesday, June 9 at 3 p.m., the Human Relations Commission, Tuesday, June 9 at 5.30 p.m., the Animal Control Advisory and Appeals Board, Wednesday, June 10 at 4 p.m., the Planning Commission, Tuesday, June 16 at 4 p.m., the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, Wednesday, June 17 at 4 p.m., and the Board of Zoning Appeals, Thursday, June 18 at 4 p.m. All meetings take place in Room 107 of the City-County Building, unless otherwise noted, and the meeting agendas will be available on the City's website, salina-ks.gov.
