That designation does get affected. And I think that there's going be a lack of willingness for affordable housing developers to develop in the city. Less housing, less good paying jobs, less revenue to the city, and less patronage to local businesses. And then finally, I think that we are running the risk of a discrimination lawsuit. Other multifamily housing is already in the pipeline for directly across the street.

And so to deny this development with the statement citing health diagnosis of and current living conditions of the future residents really rings a discrimination to these subpopulations and puts the city at risk of a lawsuit that wastes the taxpayers' money.
