Okay, it's 9:00 a.m., so we'll go ahead and get started. Please let the record reflect that Council Member Julian and Council Member um Lockheart are not present today. Uh Melissa's not feeling well and Greg is out uh in Washington DC. The first item on the agenda we have is the National Public Works Week. And if council doesn't object, I'd like to present that one. Sure. Okay. National Safe Boon Week. I'd like to do that. Of course. And Conistador Day, Janine. Y.
Okay. Okay. Then we go to 4 A, which is Oh, do we have public here? Oh, we do. Jerry, did you have anything to say today? Okay, we're good. All right, we have the bill of sale for 26140 Jones Loop Road. That is the utilities. Any questions on that one? Anything on consent? Are not present? We have the University of Florida Pontagora resilient future item. That's 6A. Questions on that? First item on the agenda we have.
National, right? No, it did not. Right. Okay. So, this is just a piece of property that they chose. It's not even one. We said, "Hey, could you do this property?" We said, "Look at our downtown." And when you say, "Look at our downtown." You see that? Okay. I think that needs to come out in the open. and I'll bring it up again tomorrow that it wasn't anything that we chose or anything that we um determined needed some kind of revitalization um and this was just strictly students doing their business. It was a class project. Yeah. Okay. Thank you. So just for the record when Janine says tomorrow I'm sorry Wednesday
everybody please. I work too so I'm just really burning the candle at both ends. Wednesday. Okay. Any questions on six speed? That's a rotary mural. Then we have a Fourth of July festival at Lashley Park. Question. The only question I have is I saw that um the street closures with the police like 9,000. I know that they're asking for $900 with permitting. I just wasn't sure. So the Four Points does know that they, you know, are grant or gifted that amount of money for closing all the streets because it's something that's necessary. Is that correct? Did I make sense there?
What was Boyd Lawrence, planning director? Good morning. So 6C with the event permit. It says there's like $9,000 closing that is being gifted by the city for closing the roads. I just wasn't sure if Four Points understood that this was a gift of like over $9,000 that would have been a cost to them. I know it's a fantastic event. Yeah. I just wasn't sure if they were aware of that. Um I would have to follow up on that. I'm not sure if they're they're aware specifically, you know, because I see that they're asking for a waiver with the permitting, but I didn't know if they they saw that as well. Okay. Yeah. Verify that. Okay. Thank you.
Okay. The PGI green thumb sculpture. They're going to place Twiggy. Nothing. Okay. an agreement with Browning Chapman to seal all the joints and penetrations and apply a waterproof traffic related membrane on the Herald Court Center parking garage. Questions finally. Yay. Yeah. A word of amendment to Corollo Engineers to inspect Hendrickson Dam at the Shell Creek Reservoir. No, I just have a comment on this. um
looking at all our projects and stuff like that. And I'm going to do a shout out on on Wednesday again. But Tom, you and utilities whenever you have these projects, you are like right on them. You get the scope done. You get this moving and in motion, and I just want to commend you for how well you do all this. Yes, absolutely. Thank you. And we have the local agency agreement for Alligator Creek multi-use trail bridge design and engineering. I just give you a heads up that they were not willing to change their agreement. So, the city would be required to take on that maintenance once that project was done. City staff is not recommending moving forward with that.
And then 6H, I had a request from council member Lockheart to pull this item, the golf cart discussion. There's just been a lot of feedback given that people really don't want to see the golf carts. So, she has requested that we pull that.
I I for one would like to discuss it anyway. we we you know use staff time to do this. I I think it's important that we at least discuss it and put it out there that we don't approve it or do approve it. Um probably most likely don't approve it with all of the safety issues going on. And I'd like to hear from Chief Smith because I'm sure she would have to deal with a lot more than she would ever want to deal with with golf carts being everywhere. So I would just like to have the discussion. Not that it has to go on and on, but a short five 10 minute discussion. Yeah, I think it needs to be put to rest either way. Yes. Yeah. Sort of like boat covers, you know? I mean, why wouldn't we? If if people don't want it, we don't talk about it. We need to talk about it. Make a decision. I don't understand what our logic is.
We We'll keep that on the agenda and I'll just kind of I'll boil it down for you. Anything that we would do on this, we would need to have a traffic engineer would be the next step. So, that's kind of what to be thinking about. Thank you. Then we'll have project updates and any questions on boards and committees. I think Sarah, were there more any more people who have safety issues going on? And I'd like to hear from Chief Smith because I'm sure she would ever need to get Sarah a microphone. So I was getting
Yep. City Clerk Sarah Welch, for the record, we did have an additional applicant submit an application after the agenda was published. Um, if council would like, I can email the application out to everybody for review. Would it be possible to amend the agenda to include the application the applicant's information on it? Anything with that? Yes, absolutely. Thank you. Hey, Sarah. Thank you. Just just for the record, which board or it was for the building board. Okay. And Sarah, I know you have like ZZ for applicant too. And I wasn't sure if that was a typo. You had it for utility advisory board and
yes, that would be a typo. And then also board of zoning appeals, you have Mr. ZZ. I'll have to take a look at that. And that was 7D and 7E. So there was a ZZ in both those two. I was like, who's ZZ? Okay, we'll get that corrected to in the amendment. Thanks. And the other piece that we'll add on that amended agenda is that presentation from the University of Florida students because that has not been published yet either. So that'll get on there.
All right. Um the only other thing I have the regional planning council has asked for a support letter for their safe streets and roads. this advanced collaboration and planning when it comes to um both emergency situations and the road networks around us. So I'll be asking you on Wednesday if you are interested in support writing that support letter. The support letter is already written and basically just if you would like me to send that or not. That's all I have. So we'll go to Sarah. Do you have anything additional? Okay. Vice Mayor. Um yes. I will be at the MO board meeting this afternoon from 2:00 to 5. That's it. Thank you.
So, I I've had a lot of people ask me about code enforcement. I know there's quite a bit of it. Maybe just to kind of give us like a monthly update or something. I I think you've been emailing it to us. I can't remember, but it was like they want transparency what's going on because they see these things and what's going on out there. And if we can just get some sort of report to certainly I think what we'll do is we'll add that um just like we do the demolition permits we could add a code enforcement update there in that place also and that would be impervious structures as well. Awesome. Thank you attorney. Uh I'll keep my comments until Wednesday on this.
