I'd like to call the meeting to order.

The business that I referenced on this with your meeting last week did ask for an incentive application, adding professional jobs in the community at a pretty high wage. So I believe they'll be applying for a grant. The housing incentive grant application process is pending neighborhood revitalization. Tyson, has everything been signed to be able to take that to the AG? waiting on one resolution and i think i'm going to get it tomorrow and it'll go in the mail tomorrow it'll go in the mail as soon as i get it okay i i knew we were very very close so um just for those who are interested in this topic we will then be on the attorney general's timeline for when they give their perfunctory approval um and then once they approve it it becomes quote unquote law right

Yeah, it needs to get recorded with the Registrar of Deeds and with the Secretary of State, but that'll take a day. I just need to get it back. The maximum amount of time it can take at the Attorney General's office is 90 days. If there's no action taken within 90 days, then it's automatically approved.

That is helpful. So as soon as the Attorney General review period not to exceed 90 days happens, The housing grant incentive application will open through PAEDC. Also discussed at the meeting was the need to do some additional work on what we're calling a pitch book. Jackie Munn's been doing a phenomenal job of pulling that together, different pieces of information and working with Taylor Printing on what that will look like. The discussion really revolved around AI and online presence and how we can make sure that businesses who are looking for places to locate understand not only the qualitative benefits of locating in Pratt County, but also the infrastructure benefits that we have that some other places might not have. Things like the airport, things like city generated power, things like water rights that are available within the city. and then also for people who might be wanting to develop out in the county how do you go about getting water rights um that's not an easy process so making sure all of those sorts of things are available online the next meeting um someone who has some expertise from taylor printing around website and ai and sort of the new technologies will come so that we have a pitch book that is essentially functional for if you're picking it up in print, but also a much more likely medium through online presence. So that was exciting. The only other thing I have for today is if you did not receive the email, I will forward it to Sasha so she can make sure that you guys get it. The Kansas Water Office and Water Authority, essentially KDHE and all of the water office, All of the kids, all of the different entities that have to do with water and cans are holding a local consultation process very much like what they do for in the roads. For water in August, the 1 that will be applicable to Pratt County will be in Wichita. Given the situation and the impairment issue that we've experienced in the past, we know firsthand how important water is to both the ag economy, but just the economic impact that ag policy related to water can have on Pratt. And so encourage 1 of the commissioners to make sure that they can get to the ag, the water, local consult. Interestingly, this week also, as you all know that we're about to have a new governor, there was some discussion about how the local consultation process that KDOT has traditionally used may or may not be used in the future and how the transportation plans that have been approved may or may not continue to be prioritized in the order they have. And so from a local perspective, certainly we'll continue to watch highway 54 but that that road being four lane from wichita to uh liberal has certainly uh been discussed a lot more recently than it has been in the past and just that local consultation process is really important so with that i'm going to stand for any questions i don't have any heather no i don't have any thank you guys thank you thank you

I'm Jacob Strecker with one of the co-owners at INA Alert. As of last week, we had sent some numbers, initial numbers over to

session about intrusion system, appendix system, and access control door system for the county building. I won't identify exactly what was discussed, but you have in front of you the parameters of that project. We did split the project into two phases or two projects, one being the intrusion system and one being the access control. I'll give you an option to do both or either or. I'm here to answer any questions about that. when it comes to a intrusion system and the panic button, a certain number of panic buttons was discussed at a walkthrough, and we made sure we met that number. And then when it comes to access control, a number of doors were addressed with the idea to do digital locks to allow for a full-scale lockdown in the event of a need to, and then also able to schedule the doors when to be open, when to be closed, provide staff with more safety, more security, and more flexibility on the building itself.

Absolutely. Turnaround time. Well, it's a project we've done for a lot of other counties. So it's not unique to this county. There's a big push for safety and security inside county departments and county buildings. When we do do this, we also will be changing door knobs to door levers, which will meet any ADA requirements. So any of those that would previously have been a door knob will be shifted to a lever action handle, which will meet any ADA requirements. And then the Sheriff's Department will also have, it'll be a direct link to the Sheriff's Department. So any need that would arise in an emergency scenario, they would automatically

get notified and have activation of the system so in these beds the 51 000 is the doors and the buttons yes and the 6 000 is just the buttons yeah so the cover page should have both quotes listed and then

A combined total, and then each quote is separately listed in and of itself inside the packet.

Nice thing is we do. We do allow in house financing to where we finance it. The second page should be of the access control quote gives a monthly cost in the event that you wanted to do something different or adjust in the future allows you to make those adjustments but it does have that in a separate financing cost just for the access control what kind of interest on it uh i'd have it's on there it's listed on there yeah we don't hide anything right yeah we just give that option

The nice thing, and you can always add the button, the doors later. The doors to the buttons will be nice in the future if that's where you go because when they hit the panic button, if it is a lockdown scenario, it will automatically lock the doors. Yeah, so then the outside door is locked. You can exit. If you're on the outside, you won't be able to get in except for any predetermined personnel like your fire, EMS, and the sheriffs. They could have access cards that then allow them into the building.

I think a lot of the employees asked about the doors because there's so many access points to get into their offices. Oh, yeah. I understand.

Adding four additional, this would be an additional couple of doors and four additional panic buttons. to the original system. So this would be, this $6,000 is an add-on to the other, because there's two quotes inside the $6,000, one being an additional access control that would be added to the access control portion of that. And then the second would be $1,400 in additional payment buttons and hardware for additional doors for expansion. So the second one is an expansion package.

No, what you're talking about is on that first quote, the cover sheet of that first quote to the intrusion.

by me somebody else would be happy okay i just wanted to give you guys an update and the kind of the public and update um early voting started today we're here from eight to noon and one to five monday through friday um and we do that until noon on august 3rd So if you guys are going to have a hard time getting out to the fairgrounds or are not going to be around on election day, I encourage you to come up. We're happy and willing to help you guys vote early. You can also request a mail-in ballot. There is an application that you can fill out. We can mail those to you if you call our office. We just have to, we do that through the 28th. You can apply for those. And just a reminder, we are out at the fairgrounds this year for the primary, August 4th. We are offering free rides through our public transportation and with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the polls. So if you have any concerns about getting off at the fairground, we're offering free rides that day. And we're also implementing a curbside voting this year for those with mobility issues. If you guys have a hard time at all, we'll have a bipartisan team there to help you get you checked in, get you your ballot, and help you through that process. So.

Well, I mean, I kind of wondered if I might look into a clause about, because the only thing that really is annoying is the KDOT fiscal that they go through. And I try to do that pretty quickly for it to make sure that they are qualified. But then if they don't ever step into the seat, like we pay for that. I mean, it goes through the grant, of course, so we get some reimbursement on it, but that and the initial, I have Eastas do the initial drug straining as well while they're doing their fiscal, and that's about $30 as well. So I don't know, do we already have any kind of policy that, I doubt it.

I mean, it is what it is. You got to do it. I mean, we got to do it and we can't say, well, if you don't work, you're going to pay us back.
