Board of Supervisors Addendum - Regular Meeting

All right. Well, let's get the meeting going. I will pass it over to the clerk for roll call.

Chair Allen. Here. Let the record show Supervisors Christie and Hines are not present. All other board members are present. We do have a quorum.

Then we will move on to agenda item number two, which is Pledge of the Allegiance. We don't have anyone to lead it in particular, so we will just sort of, you know, do our not very synchronous attempt to be synchronous. And I will look at that flag that is there on the dance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, And with liberty and justice for all. Beautiful. Third item is our land acknowledgement statement. And I believe that Mr. Brown is game to read it.

Thank you, Chair. On behalf of Pima County residents, we honor the tribal nations who have served as caretakers of this land from time immemorial and respectfully acknowledge the ancestral homelands of the Tohono O'odham Nation and the multi-millennial presence of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe within Pima County. Consistent with Pima County's commitment to diversity and inclusion, we strive towards building equal partner relationships with Arizona's tribal nations. Great. Thank you.

So we have two items on the agenda today. The first is an executive session that we will be breaking for here shortly. Then we will come back. for the final item on the agenda, which is item five, which correlates with that executive item session. And then after that, we will just be adjourning. So we will take break for executive session. I move that we break for executive session.

Okay, we are back in session. So we just concluded agenda item number four, which was for information purposes only. That was the executive session item. So we are now on item number five. This is a consideration of legal action related to the Affordable Care Act. So I will move that Pima County join a lawsuit along with other jurisdictions and organizations against the federal government related to potential rule changes to the Affordable Care Act, impacts of public health, and taxpayer money?
