City Council - Regular Meeting

Welcome again to PASCO City Council In Focus. I am Mayor of PASCO, Charles Grim, and here is an overview of the PASCO City Council's agenda for the 21st of September. The City will adopt a Solid Waste Management Plan in coordination with the County of Franklin. The adoption of this plan supports coordinated waste management throughout the County and meets the City's legal obligations. The following resolution allows the purchase of plot A of the Barker Heights lot. This is a subject that we discussed last week. This plot will allow the city to work on a pumping station to improve its irrigation system. The council will vote for the hiring of HDR Engineering to launch the design of the road 76 upper passage project. The company will initiate the preliminary activities of engineering and design for the proposed bridge and its infrastructure. Although the design is moving forward, the construction will depend on future funding and should not start before 2029. Our latest resolution concerns a road safety program financed by the income of automatic cameras. The program will use accident data, infractions and risk zones to determine where police forces are needed. The program will rely on the current personnel of the police service, Perlis. Following last week's presentation, a public hearing will take place on the annexation of Goodwin. The area is intended to know a future residential development. After the hearing, the Council will consider adopting this annexation. If it is approved, the annexation of Goodwin will then move on to the examination of residential zoning. The area would be classified as residential with an average density of R3, in accordance with the Board of Directors' plan. The last ordinance that the Council could approve is on the obligation of an additional license for the sale of cannabis. The motion would allow to move from 4 to 5 active licenses, respecting the ratio of a license for 30 zero heavy inhabitants. Finally, the staff will make a presentation on the Tricity Animal Control Center. The Municipal Council will have the opportunity to discuss and guide the operational model of this regional center. This presentation will detail the costs of operation of the establishment.
