Oh, look at the time. You know, it's two o'clock. It's Thursday. and uh we are here at pacific coast tv and uh good afternoon and welcome to mega trends uh thursday july 30th 2026. i am your host and producer pat faye with technical cohort jason francisco here in pacific at pacific coast tv in pacific in california And we're here to make sense of the mega trends that are going on. I had to choose three since we only have an hour as we try to unpack the flooding of the zone. So which three things are the most important? Well, presently, you know, we have three main mega trends to examine today. And on the first, well, the headline could read, uh, the lawsuit that put Trump's justice department under the microscope or the black boxes are open, uh, or, you know, inside Katie, Katie Fang's courtroom battle over the Epstein files. Um, in any case, it's a battle for truth. And, um, this is about Katie Fang and, um, uh, this lawsuit that, uh, communicated to judge Sullivan, uh, to communicate to the DOJ, to Todd Blanche, about stop hiding and stop. So what you have in these emails, so we're going to do a little segment. So she introduces what those emails are that are central to the website. So the second one is, you know, sort of a kind of a, how did we get here? History or how history not only rhymes, but repeats itself. You know, the chronic path of megalomaniacs in history, specifically Napoleon and Hitler and Trump. And so I went, saw this history of the horrific destruction of what happened you know, in the 19th century and then in the 20th century. And then here we are in the 21st century. So Napoleon, Hitler, Trump, you know, so history rhymes and repeats. And what is the evidence? And the third one is about how wealthy investors, this is pretty icky, how wealthy investors in the private prison industry stocks, that is in Core, Civic, and Geo group, They were concerned about how their investments crashed in the first few months of Trump's second term. They called Stephen Miller, saying, hey, what's happening? To push him to have ICE escalate the arrests. Because their investment calls and their investments were based on the promise that they'd have 3,000 people a day in these for-profit prisons. How about that? So get on it, right? So we'll get into more of that later. Meanwhile, imagine you were Todd Blanche, the guy who's pretending to be, hopes to be Attorney General. And you've seen it in the newspaper. I usually rarely just go after the headline related things on Megatrends. I usually try to get to go a little bit deeper on other things because you can always read about that. But this one was so compelling. And I wanted to sort of underscore, you know, attorney and just brilliant podcasting and activist Katie Fang. former MSNBC, MSNOW, and now Media Midas Touch. She's just a powerhouse of legal energy and social commentary. She's just a real hero of mine. So it turns out that imagine it's in your interest to cover for Trump's you know, pedophilia and stuff that's going on in the so-called, uh, uh, Epstein files. So, uh, if he's confirmed as AG is the top cop in the U S can you imagine any remaining trust in the rule of law is out the window. And, uh, So it should be called the Department of Injustice. And anyone who committed their lives to public service for justice, they'd have to resign. This is not what they signed up for. There seems to be there's no bottom to the pit of hell for this regime. And, you know, you know, so the question is, you know, what remains as a ball court against falling into a political historical black hole? You know, one answer is Megatrends and your host Pat Fahey here at Pacific Coast TV. But the better answer is Katie Fang. And she's really doing a great job supporting truth and facts and justice and has been a relentless one person wrecking ball into, you know, by shining light on Blanche and Trump. So as of last night, she's going to be talking about the eight of the ten unredacted Epstein emails. So let her give you a sort of a set this up. This is Katie Fang. Let's listen to what she's got to say.

All righty. We have the order that was entered by Judge Sullivan in my lawsuit against Todd Blanch. It was entered Saturday, July 25th, 2026. It's very short. It's only two pages. But the power of this order is just really profound. And there's kind of an underlying theme. theme here that I wanted to kind of really highlight for all of you, because it pertains not just to Todd Blanch, but to the Department of Justice under Donald Trump as a whole. And that is the Department of Justice has no credibility anymore. because for example in this instance judge sullivan has ordered todd blanch the acting attorney general of the united states to not only show up with unredacted documents on thursday july 30th no later than 3 p.m but to also show his work he has to bring proof he has to bring corroboration he has to bring evidence That what Blanche is claiming to be the case to justify these redactions that I am questioning and that the judge has ordered by way of the preliminary injunction that I asked for and that the judge granted. The judge said, look, you have to produce these things to Miss Fang. And Blanche keeps on saying, no, I can't because dot, dot, dot. That's the show cause. Do it or show cause while you shouldn't be held in contempt. Blanche says, I'm not doing anything wrong because dot, dot, dot. And Judge Sullivan has said, guess what? I don't believe what you've written in a piece of paper. Doesn't that stop you dead in your tracks that the acting attorney general of the United States doesn't have enough credibility to convince a federal judge as to the veracity, trustworthiness, the credibility of his representations? Let's get into the meat of the order because it's important. What I have done is because I think it's what you would want me to do. And it's frankly what I like to do. I went through the specific EFTA, Epstein Files Transparency Act, bait stamp documents that are referenced in Judge Sullivan's order to walk through what they are, how they relate to the order, and pretty much what Blanche has said as to the reasoning behind the redactions. All right. So. In the order, the judge has identified numerically in Roman numeral one of the order on page one, he's identified one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight emails. And yes, that relates to the first group of things that I had sought. Now, What I have done is I've taken those eight emails and I have looked at Todd Blanche's response to the court and I've grouped them accordingly. So what do I mean? Well, the judge has ordered Todd Blanche, the defendant, Todd Blanche. to submit to the court on july 30th by no later than 3 p.m these eight emails in an unredacted form so that the judge can look at them in his chambers and blanche must provide the documentation supporting his representation that the names that have been redacted in the published version of the documents are the names of victims so let's stop there if you look at These six emails out of the eight, I'll start with the very first one. 1-1-8-7-9-9-9. What does this one relate to? This one is an email dated January 17th, 2013, referencing a quote, new Brazilian just arrived, sexy and cute, 19 years old. And it comes from a business address called Mademoiselle Agency, which has an active website on the internet and is a modeling agency that is based out of Paris, France. France and again you can go put Mademoiselle Agency Paris and it'll come up on the internet the redactions on these documents here right are a name and email address in the signature block name And then also the from and the to. Now, why would the sender and the recipient's names be redacted? According to Todd Blanche, it's because they're victims. So the victims are emailing each other about a new Brazilian sexy and cute 19 years old. According to Todd, that's the case. Let's move on. EFTA 1930501, one of the more disturbing ones. An email dated March 11th, 2014. From redacted name to Jeffrey Epstein. And this is the one that, again, I find to be particularly disturbing. Quote, thank you for a fun night. Your littlest girl was a little naughty. According to Todd Blanche, the sender of this email is a victim of Epstein. Still going. EFTA 1928255. Email dated April 21st, 2014. Email recipient address in addition to Jeffrey Epstein. This is redacted. The sender name is redacted. This email deals with seeing, quote, the most beautiful little girl on Madison. I think this is Madison Avenue with a long, soft blonde hair.

Okay, so she's just giving the sort of the background of the lawsuit. And, you know, so, you know, just to sort of cut to the chase, you know, what is happening today? Actually, today is the 30th. Actually, the meeting was supposed to take place yesterday. And she wanted to call, that is, the judge, Judge Sullivan. wanted to call, demanded that Todd Blanch actually physically show up in her chambers and show her those emails that she was talking about and say what I want to see the unredacted version of these. I want to see who this was. You claim that the person that sent this, uh, these emails were victims and you were just using the victim protection, uh, part of the law. Uh, And we think that you lied. That was one of your clients. So the context is so obvious. So it's not like this is that, you know, like it's not even clever. It's just really too bad we have to have our news dominated by having this you know, step by step show the utter, almost laughably, you know, stupid lies that Todd Blanche is, is, is doing as who wants to be the, the attorney general of the United States. It is, uh, it's just despicable. Um, um, but you know, what else, what else isn't despicable about this, uh, uh, administration? Um, you know, but so the consequences of his, you know, for him, his nomination is, you know, and it's already been stalled, you know, right. Thankfully right now. And so it looks like it's, it's, and let's, let's, let's hope, hope, hope that he doesn't get, get to be the attorney general. So, so, so the, the other thing is that it could, you know, this is just literally yet another distraction that's going on. So, um, so this is not necessarily anything of great significance that people can't figure out that the problem is that people have better things to do as they go along in their lives. And they, and there's so many legal ease, you know, talk and in details about this. Uh, but it really comes to something very, very, you know, simple. I mean, and, and that is that, um, you know, as of, um, you know, that his nomination to become permanent, you know, attorney general was already, as I say, stalled, but, um, a judicial finding that of his department misrepresenting these redactions could destroy, uh, what remains of his credibility as we had any. Um, uh, and, and, uh, he, there's also, uh, he could lose his law license. In fact, that, that seems to be the ultimate, like by 2027, not only will he be out of this whole AG, uh, nomination process, but probably he'll lose his law license. And, uh, so, you know, we, we have like a, like less than a hundred days before the upcoming election. So that's, um, geez, we're really, they're all chomping at the bit, aren't we? You know? So, um, But the issue is not even whether every allegation has already been proven. The issue is whether Trump's former personal lawyer has used the power of the United States Justice Department to prevent the evidence from being independently examined. And Katie Fang has now broken up that monopoly. So he no longer gets to decide by himself who is a victim and who is not. And he has to unredact all these emails and all these files. And it could lead to the unredaction of a slew of other things. And if that happens, that would be really, that would be a cascade that would really bring the house of cards down pretty fast. Anyway, so for... So... By the way, today is like 2 o'clock, 5 o'clock, 2.16. It's 5.16 in Washington, D.C., so you can check in on what's happening now because of today's submission. the most important phrase to watch will not merely be, uh, names unredacted, but language questioning the accuracy and, and the evidence. Um, and so, and he checked that out, you know, what's the result of the meeting that happened between, um, Tom Blanche and, uh, the, uh, judge Sullivan. Um, so, uh, so, uh, uh, So that was the first little megatrend that we're dealing with today. This next one I want to go to is, well, this is a little interpolation. I thought it would be useful. Donald Trump announced that he will attend the White House Correspondents' Dinner, which will be hosted by famous mind reader, Oz Perlman. Big deal. Even I can read Trump's mind. Dementia. He wanted more out of that. The Justice Department has formed a task force intended to eradicate anti-Christian bias, which hopefully works better than the church's strategy of molesting it out of you.

Well, I got, you know, so I have to say I was a little... Is it me? I don't know. I just didn't. They were talking about assassination and molestation. I didn't. I was a little surprised. I didn't see that coming when I was checking out some of those. So I thought I just sort of pass those along. I don't know. There's better, you know. a more cogent comedy. I think Dave Lippman does a better job than they do. This next segment is really a disturbing one and it involves the University of Southern California who has been selling bodies donated for scientific research and education to the US Navy. And some are being used to train Israeli military surgical teams in Los Angeles, all without the donor's consent. So they've been given 89 cadavers since 2018. So it turns out the student journalist exposed this program And they were shocked. A specific University of California, UCSF, military, oh no, it was a military brigade, the so-called elite Golani military brigade in Israel. They were on March 25th, 2025, the Golani brigade carried out a massacre of 15 Palestinian men paramedics and emergency responders in Gaza, and they buried them and their ambulances in a mass grave in an attempt to cover up the massacre. So there's three segments in here, and I wanted you to see what young journalists are doing on the campus of the University of Southern California.

Something disturbing is taking place at this U.S. university. Bodies donated for scientific research are being sold to the U.S. Navy and ending up in the hands of Israeli military surgeons.

What popped up?

And the donors had no idea this could be their fate. Neither did their loved ones.

I just got sick to my stomach. They have misled people.

I say shame on the schools. Shame on everyone who's involved in this. I don't want to give my body to the IDF. A long-standing exchange between the University of Southern California, the US Navy, and Israeli military medics stayed largely hidden until a student investigation broke the story. The students revealed university contracts with the Navy to provide training for Israeli military medics in California.

USC is the only university in the US that appears to have a contract with the IDF mentioned in it.

If you're a potential donor, you don't have any knowledge that your body could be used potentially for training by the Israeli military.

This is an army that is actively involved in genocide and ethnic cleansing. It's horrifying. These things shouldn't be normal.

For years, the University of Southern California, a private university in Los Angeles, has been selling dead bodies to the U.S. Navy for medical training. Some are used in a specialized course run by the Navy and USC that brings Israeli military medics to Los Angeles four times a year to train on fresh tissue cadaver bodies. That means the donor died recently and their body is not chemically preserved. Available contracts for these sales date back to 2018.

I think I was actually trying to disprove my initial thoughts. Like, this can't be the idea.

This USC-affiliated physician agreed to speak to me on the condition of anonymity because they fear retaliation. They stumbled upon the contracts in 2024, following the university's heavy-handed crackdown on students and faculty protesting the genocide in Gaza.

Every question that came up, I just looked into it, and every answer I found was more horrific than what I had imagined. It violates every ethical lesson that I was ever taught.

Israeli military medics have been training with USC and the Navy since 2013 at the Navy Trauma Training Center here at the LA General Medical Center. And student journalists uncovered that in recent years, USC has sourced the majority of donor bodies from the University of California, San Diego, a public university. What were some of the more alarming things that you found as you continue to research this?

The fact that they're using perfused cadavers, they basically reanimate people pretty shortly after death. They re-infuse fluids mixed with dyed water. They put them on a pump to simulate a pulse again. They're making them look like they're alive again, basically.

Several trauma surgeons from across the U.S. confirmed to us that using perfused cadavers is not standard, especially because of the associated costs.

They definitely have simulated bodies that they can use.

Though little to no public information exists about the Israeli military course, a 2020 report written by USC and US Navy instructors offers a rare glimpse inside. It describes a four-day combat trauma surgery skills course with trainees who are part of forward surgical teams from the Israeli military. That means they're deployed to operate on those wounded near the front lines. The report says that trainees treat simulated combat injuries, including gunshot wounds to the chest and leg and blast injuries to the face and torso. While it's unclear how exactly this training is applied today, there has been an increase in senior Israeli military doctors and surgeons embedding with units on the frontlines in Gaza since October 2023. A U.S. Navy spokesperson confirmed to us that each Israeli military team in the Los Angeles training course includes four surgeons, one anesthesiologist, and one operating room nurse. And contracts show the course specifically uses perfused cadavers.

Regardless of whether we think it's gruesome to do that, right, to a dead body, the part that's even more disturbing, honestly, to me, is did the patient know?

Dr. Mohamed Raad is another USC affiliated physician who found out about the course when student journalists broke the story. And what was your reaction when you learned about this?

It's disturbing, right? We're approaching patients who donated their body with dignity and with respect. And by doing these procedures, coordinating with foreign armies, would they have agreed to that? Are you desecrating their bodies after death?

We reviewed the donor agreements for both USC and UC San Diego. Nowhere is there an explicit mention of possible use in training military medics. Notably, donors to both universities are not allowed to make requests about how their bodies will be used, and their families can't obtain that information. We also asked USC how injuries are simulated on the cadavers. They did not answer. A Navy spokesperson told us experienced trauma surgeons recreate complex injury patterns with surgical tools to deliver a high-fidelity, hyper-realistic training environment.

Hi. So this next segment is... Take notes when you do this, and we have just two little segments in here, but this is really a shocking interview here.

Yes, that all happens here.

They found that USC has generated over $1 million from contracts providing at least 89 cadavers to the U.S. Navy since 2018.

We can actually see all of the contracts that the Department of Defense has done related to cadavers with all organizations.

The students also identified what appears to be members of a specific Israeli military brigade photographed near the Navy Trauma Training Center in Los Angeles.

We obtained a photo that had two people who we believed to be participants in the program at LA General.

They believe they're associated with the Israeli military's elite Golani Brigade, a unit infamous for war crimes in Gaza.

It's a brigade that has themselves been implicated in the death and killing of paramedics in Gaza.

On March 23rd, 2025, soldiers from the Golani Brigade carried out a massacre of 15 Palestinian paramedics and emergency responders in Gaza. They buried them and their ambulances in a mass grave in an attempt to cover up the crime. The photo the students obtained appears to show people wearing clothing with a modified version of the Golani Brigade logo combined with a symbol of the Israeli Military Medical Corps.

Both of them on their hoodies had joint training on the back. The top two were Navy-related logos, and then the bottom one appears to be the Galani Brigade logo with a medical variation of the IDF superimposed on top of it.

Did you ask USC to confirm the presence of the Golani Brigade?

We did. We received a call back saying that they would not comment on the presence of the Golani Brigade.

They called you to say no comment?

Yes.

They didn't put it in writing?

They did not.

Is that standard for your reporting?

Typically, no.

We could not verify whether the people photographed were associated with the Golani Brigade. We asked USC to confirm if medics associated with the Golani Brigade participated in the training, but they did not reply to that specific question. The US Navy told us it would be inappropriate for them to share information about Israeli military personnel participating in the program. The Israeli military did not respond to our questions. In emails to us, both universities said that the program does not constitute military training, but rather educational.

USC has maintained that the Israeli medical personnel that are involved in this program are non-combatants, but that doesn't necessarily rule out the fact that they are near the front lines. They could be near where this massacre happened.

Surgeons in training for the Israeli military are still part of the military. When we think of non-combatants, it does not necessarily mean that they are uninvolved in some of the Israeli military's potential war crimes.

Do you feel like USC has been forthcoming and transparent regarding the answers to your questions? No. Jennifer's reporting has focused on the families of those who donated their bodies to USC.

It's really important that we acknowledge not only, like, what is happening to these bodies, but also the effect it has on the families now that they know that this could have happened to their loved one. I can't imagine the distress they're feeling.

Jeanette was a force. She was the matriarch of the family. She really did want her body to go to training the next generation of doctors.

Jeanette Volpin died in 2021 at the age of 101 and donated her body to USC. Her daughter and granddaughter have been reeling from the news.

When I saw the article that came out from the journalism students, I was furious and Sick to my stomach.

Was Jeanette ever told that there would be the possibility that her body would be used in training with military? Absolutely not.

No, she... So this is happening prior to the National Defense Authorization Act, the NDAA, that's attempting to integrate Israeli and U.S. and Israeli militaries and intelligence. This is... We're talking about it authorizes more than a... you know, typically, you know, more than a trillion dollars in military spending. And, but this was happening before all of that. Let's, so that we have one little more segment here, but let's thank those USC undergraduate and graduate students who busted this out and discovered this. This is what's, this is kudos to the students who have a have a heart and a brain and still have integrity. Let's go to this last little segment here.

Wendy Smith and her husband revoked their body donations to UC San Diego after finding out about the Israeli military program. How did the university respond to you when you revoked your donation?

So I will read you the letter I got from them. I understand you have some reservations on being a donor. We will not be responding to factually inaccurate reporting by student reporters who have an agenda. We would never violate the sacred trust of our donors. We do realize that teaching physicians is not for everyone. This is just funny. I mean, anyone could have done this, but He misspelled sacred as scared, the scared trust of the donors, which I kind of think it is now.

Despite the growing unease, the U.S. Navy says it intends to extend the cadaver contracts with USC until 2029. That includes the program it runs for the Israeli military medics.

Even during the genocide, even when the Israeli army was bombing schools and hospitals and kidnapping physicians, these contracts were being renewed. What happens to your institution when it loses moral legitimacy?

So, again, you know, this, please check this story out and Google it. And there's a whole lot more to this that informed citizens need to know about. But again, you know, this is in the context of the merging of the U.S. and Israeli Defense Force intel that's going on. It emerges as part of our military with the IDF, and it poses an existential threat to American sovereignty and democracy. That's what the quote from AOC. It turns out that Ro Khanna and Thomas Massey had proposed stopping the $3 billion in U.S. aid to Israel, largely to Destin for the U.S. military earlier this month, but the amendment was defeated in the House. But it turns out that AIPAC, which lobbies both the Democrats and Republicans to tighten up cooperation with Israel, said that provision is critical to helping both countries stay ahead of the new threats. So nothing that ever that you could if anything that comes out of uh israeli propaganda is you know i guess people just you know uh you can be sure that it has no semblance to the truth so um i want to just play this next segment uh political girl i i forget her um her actual name um But she really, really socked it to House Speaker Johnson. Just listen to what he says and listen to what she nails every bullet point. So we're just switching to this next little megatrend. Let's just check this out.

What is the Republican Party? It's individual freedom, limited government, the rule of law, peace through strength, fiscal responsibility, free markets and human dignity. I don't ask much more of anybody, but you got to hold the core principles that made us the great nation, greatest nation in the history of the world.

What reality does this guy live in? I mean, those might have been the qualities that the Republican Party used to stand for, though I could debate that. But those days are long gone. In fact, under Mike, every single one of those core values no longer exist. Take individual freedom. Not if you're a woman, not if you're LGBTQ, not if you're an immigrant, not if you're on a liberal watch list. The government is making decisions for us every day now. They have a whole new presidential memorandum about who's a domestic terrorist. And that includes people who are anti-capitalism and anti-fascist and not sufficiently pro-Christianity. Limited government has to be a joke because this Republican government has their hands in every single aspect of our lives. They are literally building data surveillance centers across the country against the will of the people. We are being taped by thousands of cameras we can and cannot see. Ice is in our streets, pulling people out of our cars, killing and arresting people with apparently zero guardrails. Women no longer have autonomy over their own bodies. We have multiple banned book lists. The government is telling teachers what they can and cannot teach. Hell, they're telling teachers what family photos they can display and what art can be put up in their classroom. Limited government? The rule of law. OK, is this from the same Republican Party that just gave a seemingly endless budget to the federal agents who are violating the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth amendments? The same government that was fine with Trump pardoning his friends who had committed over a billion dollars in Medicare fraud and denying the American taxpayers the reimbursement they were owed? The same Republican Party that's allowing ICE detention camps to no longer report the deaths happening on their watch? The party hiding the criminals in the horrific Epstein files? We're supposed to believe that the rule of law is so important to the party that just made a deal so the president, his family, and his businesses never have to file a tax return again with an attorney general who is spending the majority of his time and money going after political enemies rather than actual criminals? I mean, Mike can't honestly expect us to believe fiscal responsibility still matters to them. Not when we just spent a billion dollars a day on a war and are now fine paying the country we bombed three hundred billion dollars to rebuild what we destroyed. Was it fiscally responsible to knock down the East Wing of the White House for a yet to be designed six hundred million dollar ballroom? This is the same group who cut childhood cancer research who are building a 250-foot golden arch. The same group who posed for pictures at the $60 million UFC birthday party who keep voting for tax credits and taxpayer money to prop up fossil fuel giants while paying hundreds of millions of dollars to rip up existing contracts with green energy. I mean, we're talking about things we already paid for that are working, and now we're going to pay to remove them? Does that sound... fiscally responsible to you? I mean, Doge cut $15 million spent to make sure that screw worms didn't come to America. And now that, shocker, screw worms are killing American beef, we're going to pay billions of dollars to eradicate it. That math ain't mathin'. Now, Republicans talk endlessly about free markets, but we now live in a country where we don't have antitrust laws and we have multiple monopolies and businesses and corporations succeed or fail depending on their personal relationship or payments to our president. That's not the free market. That's a kleptocracy. Look at how much money the Trump family has personally made in the last two years. The insider trading the Republicans are totally fine with. Free market? This is an oligarchy. Elon became a trillionaire using taxpayer investments. We are literally subsidizing multiple industries right now, the farm industry, the coal industry, corporate subsidies across the board because of Trump's tariffs or because of progress or because of lack of customers. And those businesses were getting destroyed. Those industries aren't competing in the free market. They're being propped up. By the taxpayers. Honestly, there's so little competition these days, it's like six big companies scratching each other's back and then paying off politicians to make them even richer at our expense. Free market, come on. Finally, do not get me started on human dignity. Human dignity, Mike? Not if you're gay or poor or trans or homeless or an immigrant. Republicans don't even respect veterans anymore. They'll just let them die homeless on the street without health care. This is the same party that tried to defend Renee Goode being shot in the head when her last words were, I'm not mad at you, bro. And then they tried to smear her reputation to get themselves out of trouble. Human dignity from the party that literally mocks everyone who isn't exactly like them? Really, bro? Now, Mike says he doesn't ask much from the people. And he's right. He doesn't. Because the only people Mike cares about is the big man in charge. And literally no one expects anything from him. The Republican Party has become a doormat for corruption and debauchery and grift and hate. If anything, those are their core values. So don't piss on our leg and tell us it's raining. It is embarrassing for both of us.

So you probably have seen her. This is her famous refrigerator, famous refrigerator. She really does nail our so-called leadership to the wall for Anyway, the rest of megatrends includes the brain drain from which the U.S. deserves, you know, that we're like having literally thousands of people doing scientific research that have basically decided to take a hike. But before we get to that, I wanted to touch on this question. Unsatisfied with record profits, private president's investors want ICE to escalate the arrests. So I originally had this on when I was on CakeXSF and I did a show there on radio. And then early on, you know, when I started here at Pacific Coast TV and It turns out that in 2025, early on, the, the arrests, you know, they, they were still training the public on, on, on arrests because every time they had even this, you know, uh, you know, the ICE agents would do, do, um, you know, do some arrests. There would be, you know, uh, um, it would, it would be bad press, but then they called the white house and said, Hey, you know, um, This first six months, you haven't been doing your 3,000 arrests quota a day. And we based our profit calls on that. And now our investors are mad. And so they were literally, so this is, so it turns out that CoreCivic's revenue from contracts with immigration from ICE skyrocketed in 2025 at first. And then after that, it crashed. And one of the big questions has been the pace of detention by ICE, that it's been below what investors thought it was going to be. One of the investors said, I think people thought we'd be at the 100,000 level by now. We're at a little over 70,000. They said, disappointedly. So ICE detained population is at its highest level since the agency's creation in 2003. And the majority of the incarcerated in for-profit prisons has meant millions of dollars in revenue for the private prison industry. Leading for-profit industry companies, primarily CoreCivic and GEO Group, who donated half a million dollars to the Republican members of Congress currently in office and $57,000 to the Democratic Congress members from 2021 to 2025, according to the appeal who investigated this. And so during the last three months of 2025, CoreCivics revenue from ICE more than doubled uh, from the previous year to $245 million compared to 120 million. And, um, so course civic and two thought 26 is expected to be even more lucrative. So, so this is what's going on, you know, right. As we speak that, that there is a profit motive. If there's a bed that's empty, they lose money. So, uh, So let's go to, I want to go to this one, I think it's number, before we go to the, I guess we're going to go to the brain drain thing, right? Okay, we're going to do the brain drain part, and then we're going to go to the one right after that about geogroup.

is leaving the US because of funding cuts. Let's talk about today's women. Another scientist is leaving the US because of funding cuts. Let's talk about today's women in science. Her name is Shirley Meng. She's one of the top battery scientists in the world. And for 20 years, she built her career in the United States, MIT, University of Florida, UC San Diego, University of Chicago, and the Argonne National Laboratory. She headed a $62 million Department of Energy research hub focused entirely on next-generation energy storage. Over 300 peer-reviewed papers, multiple patents, awards from the Electrochemical Society, the Royal Chemistry Society, and the American Chemical Society. Wow, that was a lot to say. Her resume is exceptional. What does she actually work on? Well, it's batteries at the most fundamental material levels. She pioneered the use of advanced imaging techniques, including cryo-electron microscopy, to see exactly what's happening inside battery electrodes at the nanoscale. That kind of atomic level understanding is what lets you actually design better materials rather than just guessing at them. Her lab developed liquified gas electrolytes that allow batteries to operate at minus 112 degrees Fahrenheit, way beyond what conventional lithium-ion batteries can handle. And in 2024, her lab published what they called the world's first anode-free sodium solid state battery. But this is potentially a really big deal because sodium is far cheaper and more abundant than lithium, which could make electric vehicles and grid storage significantly more affordable. On July 1st, she's leaving the University of Chicago for a senior post at the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. And she was direct about why. She leaves the US as turned away from its commitment to decarbonize. She said her lab couldn't hire a South Korean postdoc researcher because of visa costs. believe this one at first when i saw it a student funded by tesla was told that they couldn't work at argon national lab and the reason given was because tesla has a china operation which is kind of crazy and this is kind of how she responded is that any international company is going to have a presence in china right she also said she didn't want to be asked to build better batteries for weapon systems because she wants to build things not destroy them. She's not alone here, because there's a Nature poll that found 75% of scientists in the US are considering leaving the country. Over 10,000 doctoral-level STEM researchers left federal positions last year. The brain drain is not hypothetical. It's happening right now. Another scientist is leaving the US because...

Let's talk to today's woman in science. Her name is Shirley Meng. She's one of the top... Yeah.

So, yeah, the brain drain is happening, and we're not going to get it back. And she said, okay, you know what? I'm not making batteries for military purposes. I'm not doing that. So I'm out of here. We're headed to Singapore. This next segment is a sad case of a woman who was arrested. This is just one incident among tens of thousands. that are going on around the US where people are arrested for no reason. Again, this is tied to what I was saying about get that 3000 a day. They don't care whether they're, they just need the bodies for core civic. And so let's listen to this woman's story. It's really just heartbreaking.

As I waited, they took me back into the holding cell. Then they said, we need to fingerprint you. We need to take a picture of you. We need to take your DNA. We need to swab you." And I said, what am I being charged for? And he said, you're not being charged for anything yet, but this needs to be in the system. If you don't comply, you will not leave. My name is Eileen. I'm a US citizen and I was taken by ICE on December 22nd, 2025. I received a message from a neighbor asking me if I can stop by their neighborhood to see if ICE was outside. It was about 7.50 in the morning. I drove out, got to the location, and confirmed that ICE was there. I was in my car when they approached me. I was still in drive, and one of the masked men approached my window, and they told me to get out of my car. I said, no, I don't have to get out of my car. He says, yes, you do. You have to get out of the car. I'm like, no, I don't. Another ICE agent started blurting out profanity at me, started swearing at me. This ICE agent managed to take my seatbelt off and pull me out of my car. As he pulled me out of my car, my car started driving away.

So you were behind their car. So you weren't blocking it?

No.

Okay.

When they noticed I was behind them, they decided to take a U-turn and become face-to-face with me, blocking me. One car behind me, another one in front of me. They started throwing me on top of my car and telling me that I was impeding.

Can't you fucking hit me with a fucking car? No, you need a fucking helper, dude. Helper!

Prospect Heights Police showed up. Even the police officer said, don't move or I'm going to tase you. And I just stood in awe because I thought they were supposed to be helping us in some way. As I was arrested and pushed onto the ground, they were using so much force that I had three guys on top of me. I had cuts on my face. They handcuffed me, and they made it as tight as they could. Without knowing my status, they said I wasn't illegal here.

Prof. Haynes is fucking happy! Fuck you! That's why you don't fucking get no fucking respect! What the fuck are you doing?

I see you in the fuck!

Hold you, motherfucker! Seriously, you're gonna fucking let him do that?

They're pulling me. They're dragging me. They're telling me that they're going to arrest me and take me to a detention center. I wonder, why is this happening? Why is this even getting this far? They asked if I was a U.S. citizen. I said, I'm a U.S. citizen. They don't believe me. As I was taken to Prospect Heights Police Department, On the way there, I was insulted by the ICE person that was in the car. They said I was a stupid bitch for impeding, that I have no rights here, that I should go back to Mexico or Honduras where I belong, that this is not the place for me. They made me sign a paper, I guess, giving away my rights to a lawyer because they said that a lawyer was not going to show up. that nobody was going to come for me. That's when they said that they needed to fingerprint me. And I said, no, why do I need to be fingerprinted? And they said, because this is a federal case. I'm like, why do you need my DNA? Why do you need my picture? It needs to go into the federal system. And if we don't do this, you're not allowed to leave. When they swapped me, the thoughts that were going through my mind were bad. I thought this is going to go on my background. This is going to hurt my future. And this is going to seem like I did something wrong, like I'm a criminal. I was released, but released after being what? After being hurt, after being tossed around, after getting all my information, my DNA. I was released like nothing happened. It's easy for somebody to say, she's going to be fine. But it's not. When I once thought I was going to be fine, I was not fine. And I was trying to figure out what was next. Just because of my colored skin, it can happen again. I do this because someone needs to speak up, because someone needs to say something. I do this for people that don't have a voice. When we go out there, we want to show the world, we want to show the community that we're together and that this needs to stop. People come here for a future, not to be scared, not to be hurt. People always have to look behind their back because now everywhere you turn, you don't know if somebody's going to be there taking you. or taking you away from your family.

So Eileen was arrested on December 22nd, 2025.

Just from a Times sequence, by late summer and fall,

CoreCivic and GeoGroup stocks had crashed on Wall Street. And that's when investors called Stephen Miller and said, hey, what's happening? And then what happened? Minneapolis happened. First of all, Eileen got arrested. She was one of just many cases. That was December 22nd, 2025. And then what happened in the new year on January 7th? Renee Goode was murdered. And then three weeks later, January 24th, Priti was murdered in cold blood. So yeah, this is now just continuing to go on. I want to play this next thing. It's called Release the Children from Jail. Let's play this. It says, release all children from ICE detention.

Here is the truth. We are putting small children in jail, children who have committed no crime, parents who have committed no crime. And we as a nation are paying private prison companies to profit from their prolonged detention. More people have died in immigration detention this year than in recent decades. In fact, one person has died every six days in 2026 in immigration detention. Because here's the truth. So that those are the mega trends that we're having. I guess we'll have to cover the, you know, the history of rhyming and, you know, at a different on a different show. But everything from Katie Fang's lawsuit, which is really important, you know, It all has to do with the Department of Justice. Where is justice in this country? So it's really falling apart. It's really on us to fight back in every possible way. We have to hit the streets. We have to do more than just yell and scream. We have to organize. We have to be here for each other. We have to do that together. This is what voting with your feet means. And that's what Megatrends is encouraging.
