City Council - Special Meeting

Hello, good evening. Just want to call the special meeting to order for the Oxnard City Council for Wednesday, August 26th, 2026. Madam Clerk, will we have the roll call and posting of the agenda, please?

And the agenda for this meeting was posted in the kiosk at City Hall, the Oxnard Public Library, the City Administrative Offices, and on our website on Tuesday, August 25th. Thank you.

And we normally don't do this for private, for closed session items. But we're going to do the Pledge of Allegiance, if that's OK. And we're going to take a moment of silence for Tim Curry and for Dolly Parton, both entertainers who died here at the age of 80, both of them. So I can have everyone rise. Thank you, Mayor. The City Council will recess to a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9, Subdivision D1, to confer with its attorneys. The matter being discussed is Douglas Partello versus Lourdes Lopez et al.

There's an announcement to make Thank You mayor By a unanimous vote of the council members presence mayor MacArthur mayor Pro Tem Tehran councilmember Parello councilwoman Basuah councilwoman Perez and councilwoman Rodriguez and CITY COUNCIL HAS GIVEN ITS LEGAL COUNCIL APPROVAL TO SEEK APPELLATE REVIEW OR RELIEF IN DOUGLAS PARTELLO VERSUS LORTES LOPEZ AT ALL REGARDING THE BALLOT QUESTION OF MEASURE E FOR THE NOVEMBER 3, 2026 ELECTION AND COUNCILMAN STARR WAS ABSENT FROM THE CLOSED SESSION.
