Tuesday, December 16th, prior to the opening of those received. The White Sand Beach sitewalk was held yesterday and Wednesday, December 3rd. Uh four contractors were in attendance and the project is expected to be completed by the end of April 2026. parks and recck budget process. The 26 27 department operating budget requests and capital items requests have been distributed by the finance department. Uh these budget sheets are to be completed and returned to finance director by December 15th. At that point, the requests will be reviewed with the respective department head, the finance director, and the first select woman. The board of selectmen will begin their review of the budgets by late December or early January and the board of finance will begin their reviews in February. Couple miscellaneous items. Uh the process of determining the 2026 summer staff has started. All 2025 summer staff have been contacted to determine who is planning on returning. And the last miscellaneous item, which I notice is on the agenda as well. But um commission members are reminded to review their term dates and update the parks commission as to their intended service as soon as possible. There are currently three commission members whose terms expire January 31st, 2026. Mary Allen, I'll send that to you in the morning.

4:540

Oh, good. Thanks, Tom. Okay. Any any questions or comments for Don? No.

5:01 – 5:490

Oh, no. Hearing none, I think everything is well under control. Uh, and we'll move on then to the old business of the Hannes Park Playscape update. Uh, getting so late. It looks like maybe we'll install that in the spring. I I don't know. Missy, do you know anything about that? Are you on on phone? No, I know. The last the last meeting Sarah had no update for it. So, I guess that'll be in the spring, which is fine. Uh, the Townwoods Park softball infield update. I took a look at it today. Don, you took a look at it, too. It looks like

5:46 – 6:240

I I contacted Matt Reed. Yeah. And I spoke to him in length about today and they have not done anything yet. Mostly because of weather related and [clears throat] it's probably not going to happen right away. Yeah. Okay. Well, I'm sorry. That was the the temp Oh, the softball infield. Yeah. To make the infield bigger so that more Right. So, we don't have an update. They haven't done anything. They haven't done anything yet. And that'll be weather dependent, I guess, uh, as to when they may do that. Anybody any comments, Ryan? You have anything to say?

6:22 – 6:400

Uh, no. I I think the plan is to use that field for that size in the spring, you know, for the spring season. So, I imagine they'll just plan to get it done before then. Okay, sounds good. Missy, are you on now?

6:38 – 8:250

Hello, there's somebody. Never mind. Okay. Uh, all right. Yeah. So, that's that looks like that's the update on that. At the last meeting uh of the current park and wreck program structures and fees, we had a l kind of a lengthy discussion about how for the development of the kids, it was better that lime and old lime, you know, lime would continue to get the price that old line people pay. And we're wondering if uh if there was a better way to try and recoup some money to the town. And Brendan had made a motion uh that the old lime uh board of selectmen and this is just the the motion that was made the the board of selectman board of finance engage in a conversation with the lime uh board of selectman board of finance regarding making a financial contribution towards the administration and expenses of the old line parks and recck programs. Tim and second to that motion. I took a look on Monday of any of the board of selectman meeting that took place after our meeting in uh in November and also the board of finance. I didn't see anything on there in any of the minutes or agendas. So, I'm going to probably if if the commission agrees, I'll send a little note uh to the board of selectment and board of finance people that this motion was passed by park and wreck and we'd like to see it a follow through on it. Uh, anybody have any comment?

8:24 – 9:080

No. Yeah. Everybody agree? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Right. In fact, I uh like Don says, we've gone through three administrations. It would be nice if that was extended to other uh programs that the O line administration has been doing for no financial compensation involved at all. So, uh, hopefully we get something that going and it would be better for the town and we'd have and and if not if if not, can we just stop talking about it?

9:05 – 9:400

If they decide not to do it, I guess that's their decision, but I think Park and Wreck would would feel that that was not the right decision. Is that what you're asking? I just mean can can Don stop having to think about this and can can the commission stop having to debate what to do about it if no one else is going to make any right well yeah but at least we'll give it a try like to try and get it going right for sure yeah yeah totally

9:38 – 10:230

yeah but yeah I that that's the whole point there they put pressure on Don to try and get more uh financial compens compensation for programs this and that but this is an easy way to to do it based on the fact that we've been doing it for so many years gratus to the town of line but we we'll see how that goes so I will send a reminder to the board of selectment and board of finance about this and we'll see what happens from there okay sound good okay all right uh any other thing about the fees and structures. Donnie, we're just going to up a couple programs by a few.

10:21 – 10:320

Yeah. Um Wendy [snorts] and I are discussing it in length right now, putting the budget together, so we'll we'll have it figured out.

10:28 – 11:340

Yeah. Okay, great. Okay. Uh next, uh we go to new business. As Don mentioned, uh three of our commissioners terms are ending on July I don't know, January 31st. Hello. of two 20266 myself, Brendan Mcver and Ryan Lee. And uh so if you're interested in re-uping for this, Brendan and Ryan, uh don't forget you have to fill out one of these forms. Uh that's for a request for appointment. It's on the town of Olive website and uh if Brian and Brendan are interested in re-uping just, you know, fill this form out and send it to the uh the selectment to Martha, I guess, the first selectman's office. Okay.

11:32 – 12:010

The other thing I want to comment is because it happened to me last year. You have to follow up and see that they got it. Yeah. Oh, I know. because some of them they weren't getting. Yeah, I I know. There was one particular they didn't weren't getting and I think it might have been Tim's. I forget I forget whose Well, they didn't get mine. I had to do it. Yeah. Yeah, I know. So, yes, just just make sure you get a reply that they received it. That would be helpful. I guess

11:59 – 12:370

this is a good reminder. I just wanted to thank thank thank everyone for the reminder of this. This is an easy thing to lose track of. So, thank you for bringing it up. Yeah. So, I I would suggest uh uh this month filling out this request for appointment form so there's plenty of time before uh January 31st hits. Okay. Uh any other new business? I don't have anything. Don, no. Tim, Ryan, Mary Ellen? No.

12:33 – 13:140

Okay. Correspondence. Uh, no public comment unless there's someone in telephone land that wants to comment. Hearing none. Okay. Motion to adjourn. This is a quickie. I'll move a second. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right, guys. Thanks for showing up. And the record shortest. Yeah, this might be a record, but we've had a couple long one recently. So, yeah, we'll turn it off. Motion to adjurnn. Uh, everyone agree? Yes. Yes. Okay. Uh, anyone opposed? No. Okay. Well, we're ajourned. All right. See you. Right.
