Dick Shriver, Publisher, Estuary Magazine and Rich Shriver, Board member of The Watershed Fund. The second CT River Watershed seminar/webinar Zoom presentation on Avian Habitats within the watershed will be given by Jillian Liner, Director of Conservation with Audubon Vermont on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at 6:00 PM. It will be a Zoom presentation in the Old Lyme Phoebe Griffin Noyes Library. Connecticut 2025 Wildlife Action Plan
Brian Hess CT DEEP Wildlife Biologist– Wildlife Division. As of January 21, 2026, Brian Hess confirmed via email he would discuss the Connecticut Wildlife Action Plan with the Old Lyme Conservation Commission via Zoom presentation on April 7, 2026. G. Save the Sound Project
Awaiting response from Save The Sound on obtaining a representative to discuss restoring Long Island Sound eel grass meadows and other programs in the Old Lyme area. Propose OLCC volunteers join Save the Sound in an effort to restore eel grass. – G. Ryan. (See “The Grass is Greener Underwater” Article, dated August 8, 2025, on Save the Sound’s website)
Lyme Land Trust hosting an angler and guide for a talk on local fishing
On Tuesday, March 10, from 7 to 8:30 PM, Lyme Land Trust will present “Fishing the Local Waterways with Rowan Lytle” at the Lyme Public Hall, 249 Hamburg Road. The program will feature local angler and registered Connecticut fishing guide Rowan Lytle, who will discuss the history of fisheries in and around Lyme, the environmental challenges they face, and the role anglers and land preservation efforts play in protecting waterways and fish habitats.
