Options for Regulating Placement of Chairs for the Fourth of July Parade (Council Direction)

RECOMMENDATION: 1. Establish a policy prohibiting placement of chairs no earlier than one week prior to the parade; or 2. Direct staff to coordinate with California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) to investigate public encroachment permitting requirements and potential implementation along state-controlled segments of the parade route; or 3. Take no action regarding the early placement of chairs along the parade route, except where chair impedes sidewalk accessibility.

Introduce Ordinance No. 973 Repealing Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 7 of the Ojai Municipal Code Pertaining to Well Construction, Modification, and Demolition Standards (Operational Need)

RECOMMENDATION: 1. Introduce, for first reading by title only with further reading waived, Ordinance No. 973, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Ojai, California, Repealing Article 2 of Chapter 3 of Title 7 of the Ojai Municipal Code ("Well Construction, Modification, And Demolition Standards"), and; 2. Direct staff to return to the City Council for second reading and adoption of the Ordinance at the July 14, 2026, City Council meeting.

Consider Change in Council Protocols from Quarterly Rotation to Annual Rotation for Representation by Council Members at City Commission Meetings (City Council Direction)

RECOMMENDATION: Provide assignments or direction, including amendment in Council Protocols, from quarterly rotation to annual rotation for representation by Council Members at City Commission Meetings.
