Thank you, Mayor. This will be brief. Today we had a meeting. A kind of a status meeting with the professors involved as well as the leadership of the student group that is helping us to consolidate and move forward with the project. We are right now at a stage where we have consolidated all the input by not only staff but members of the council. They have been categorized into five primary strategies. with some of the points below them to support the strategic intent of each one of those... primary... strategies... either tonight or tomorrow morning early...... our city manager or mayor…
I think she needs to do it again after you sign the official document. I'm just kidding. Well done.
Before we go any further, perhaps we ought to ask staff to have some comments on that.
Sorry, you're probably whatever you're gonna ask is much more important You know, I'm looking at all of this and I'm not an expert in any of that stuff You know that might better than anybody else in the room We've talked a couple times and sometimes I look at you cross-eyed because I don't know what you're talking about. But I That's on me. I see all the property lines. I see roads that aren't roads. I see, like, for instance, in Tom's property, there's already structures there. You're planning to put a small industrial PUD with buildings and some kind of industrial usage. I'm assuming once…
No, but I don't want to know where you're going to be. I want to know how the whole area gets affected.
I don't disagree with you at all, Mike, and the logic is absolutely 100% sound. That's why I'm asking the questions. in terms of safety and accessibility, either coming or going. And it's not necessarily directed at you. It's directed at all of us because, you know, I mean, we could go forever saying, okay, well, we don't want to really disrupt our facility because that will make it a mess. But it's already a mess. We want to get rid of this master plan road. So now we don't have formal access to airport road. We only have a couple of entrances down on industrial road. But how do you get to…
It's a private line. So where is the city line kept for water, if you don't mind my asking that? Industrial. Industrial?
But that's not what they're wanting to do.
Is there a, do we do a... You don't have to do anything.
I'm just saying additional comments from...
Yep, I understand. Yeah, and Paul and Randall, you guys are nodding. That's what transpired. I don't want us to come back later on and say, no, that's not what we said.
Yeah, that's what I was going to suggest that we go ahead and move on. Thank you, Mike.
And we promise that he will never call you Matt again. I doubt that.
Do you want to point with the pointer there so that he can understand where you are?
It's right on the corner of Hovey Hills Drive and Knoll Street. And your home, if I remember correctly, is across the... Right up here. Yeah.
There were some pictures that had fireplaces or fire.
I just have a, maybe for Chief Adams or Randall specifically, can this area be classified in terms of law violation when we have postage signage and so forth where we can enforce a little stronger? I mean, not that we have been enforcing, but...
Well, the trespassing would come... For those who are utilizing, like, side-by-sides and power motorcycles?
Right. So the blue sign that you took a picture of and sent to us, that one is very specific there in terms of what's allowed and what's not allowed. Correct. Correct.
Why are horses not allowed up there, according to the signage?
Yeah. Well, the signage thing is clearly something that may help to mitigate, but I don't know what else to do up there, to be quite frank. But who would be in charge of designing and putting up the signs?
So I make a motion that we allowed our city manager to return to the applicant and discuss an increase in the rates and then return and report.
Exactly what the mayor said. That's my motion.
All right. I'm going to say this for the record. I think other mayors would be foolish to challenge this policy as it's being drafted. I have gone through the whole thing, Terry, and I looked it up on the document that you sent all of us. There was one place which was clarified later on, and I'll go ahead and go back through it and contact you directly, where I didn't think that the mayor's authority slash responsibility was highlighted adequately. And then later on, you make it very clear on the mayor's responsibilities and authority portion. So I just want to... Everything else was very…
Yeah. It's minor, but there is a potential, and it's just going to be, yeah.
