And Gina's not paying for the impact fees.
Okay, number 14, consider resolution amending the city's personnel policy.
One of the concerns I had when we talked about this in the committee and how high that is, is trying to find a number that actually helps the departments to function in what should be normal working processes. And you've got to remember, they worked time, and now we're paying them time and a half in taking that time off. So if we have high amounts of that that we want them to use every year or are creating policy to allow them to use every year, I think the more rational argument would be if we're bumping up against that 120 consistently in departments, then we probably are understaffed and…
Exactly. And there's emergencies that happen, right? That's why you have them for fire or police. If somebody calls out sick, you've got to cover the shift still, right? But I think that 120 is a very reasonable number to be able to make sure that those kinds of emergencies can be covered. And to push it higher encourages opportunities to build time when do we need them to be building that time. It's just the way I look at it. I feel like it's a fair number that allows us to function and run efficient effectively and so it's good. Waldo first and then back to Carter.
Not when you just want to work overtime.
But thank you for the discussion. And I agree with you 100%. Fair discussion. Absolutely. As we have them, that's what makes us better. Sure. Fair discussion. So thank you for bringing it up.
I'll second that. I have a motion and a second. This one's a resolution, so we get to start a roll call with Carter. Aye. Aye. Aye.
Okay, last agenda item is public comment. Anybody here tonight that wants to share something with us? Now is your time. I will restate them just so that everyone remembers, or if you haven't been here before, I have a little beeper here. Three minutes is what we allocate per comment. You'll hear it when it goes off, but thank you for being here. State your name as well.
And I think we do have some concerns in some areas out there. There are. At the lights, I think they've got double lanes to where they'll...
And if you're interested, if this is something you just like, just so you're aware, if you Google the South Interchange Cedar City. UDOT's page will pull up to have like a map of what it's designed to look like. If it's something you're just interested in.
That's a good comment. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you very much for taking time.
You give us something like that, and they're going to try to get you in the water, too.
It was at the city park. Good work, Chief, good work.
I was in Canada, I was out of the country. Anybody else? Yeah, come on up, Scott.
Okay, it's 5.30. We'll call the meeting to order. Thank you for everybody that is here. We will start tonight. We have the assistant pastor from Red Hills Baptist Church. Jarrett Williams is going to offer a prayer for us, and then Kent Fugel will lead us in the pledge.
Motion and a second, all in favor? Aye. Any opposed? And we will excuse Councilman Galani texted us and let us know that he wouldn't be here. Don't know details other than just asked to be excused.
These kinds of things cause us to evaluate how we communicate.
Agreed. I think it's an opportunity for us to get people to sign up for the emergency notifications. We're communicating, but if you weren't...
And as you were helping me learn before the meeting, it also takes time to repressurize it. Otherwise, you cause major damage and you blow other holes if you try to pressurize the system back too fast.
You have to sign up for that. We can't force it.
Okay. All right, Councilman Phillips, you're up first. Thank you, Mayor.
You bet, thank you. Okay, next item is a presentation of the recent Utah well-being survey.
Thank you. Okay, our next one is the police department reaccreditation presentation.
Sorry, you need to come around here. Just like we make him do when his new officers come, right?
Wait for the screen, wait for the screen. Get centered, get centered.
