Well, I think we need to talk to both chiefs, both police chief and our fire chief. They just bought a new brush burner for a track hole. So I think I would like him to evaluate this as far as a fire, if there's places that they need to clean up or whatever, they might be able to. And then we're not going to be able to stop everybody. There's too much open space to go. And then please, Chief Adams, if we can maybe patrol that area a little more and put up a few signs. But you could put all the chains in the world, but you can't block everybody out of there. And so I think we just need to –…
And it's BLM up behind that, so you can't keep everybody out of it.
I would have the fire chief go take a look.
If you really want to stop everybody, just repo a few of the vehicles. Word will go out. They won't go up there anymore. I mean, bottom line is, you can give them a ticket, but if you catch them, just take their vehicles. So if you really want to stop it, that's not that easy.
It's up to a dollar plus. Well, that's what you got.
It sounds like royalties right now are anywhere from a dollar to a dollar 25 now I hate to see it raise the price because I buy gravel from them, but that's where royalties are I Think it should be a consideration. I think yeah, I think so too. Yeah 500,000 yards is going to take him three or four or five years.
Well, I think a dollar's okay. A dollar's fair, I believe.
I make a motion that we move this to consent.
Back to your regular schedule. Pause momentarily. I took my tie off because it's now wet.
Thank you. Where does this gate go or where is your proposed gate?
So this doesn't affect the one we're using?
No, no, they need to know that. They do. We tried.
I did send it to two of the developers. That you knew? Good job. I forwarded it to them and said, take care of this.
Nothing's changed. I think it's a good call. I'll make a motion that we consider the general plan change as stated in item nine.
Yeah, I said number nine. So general plan and zone change.
I wouldn't limit it to five. I'd just give it to Kent to say what we need.
Okay, I make a motion that we award the bid as stated. We need to make Scott come up with stock first.
So what was the motion then? So I make a motion that we approve the bid for the covered outdoor arena project. Second.
Councilman Schmidt. Okay, I talked to a couple department heads on this. I'd like to stay at 120. I think 120 is fair. We have some areas around the state that are 40, some are 80. We are by far on the higher end of things at 120. There's very few that are higher than we are. I don't like a split between existing employees and new employees. I think we should be 120 across the board.
Did you have something to say, Phil? No. I was just telling Councilman Phillips, fair job.
Hold on, Scott. Go ahead, Phil. We'd like to know, I was talking with Robert about this, and you know as well as all of us, when we're having a livestock show or whatever, the air gets pretty bad. So I would like you to get to us the number of vents or fans that need to be upgraded or that are not working, and also, and I'm going to talk to a couple of Plumber is about putting some more cross fans, vent fans on one side, a fan on the other side to see if we can't do something to clean up that arena because it's just way too bad when we have all those livestock kids and everybody in there.…
But we need to do something because it is bad. Yeah. So can you give us or get with me or Robert and let's get this figured out and what we got to do and I'll get some prices and some sizes and let's see if we can't get a lot better ventilation east, west, north, south.
If you give me a call sometime later this week or first part of next week or whatever, and I'd be happy to go with you and take a look at some of this stuff and kind of see what we can do.
James, on this money that you're getting, and I need to disclose, I'm actually working and helping them on this project coming out. Kent, you and Jonathan, if at all possible, we need to expedite a few of these things so we can get these things in the ground and get it going. We've got some road breaks we gotta put in, we got some street cuts, water lines and stuff that we have to get going and so we're going to be asking for a groundbreaking that's gonna allow us to do a bunch of grading so that we don't get caught in the middle of the winter. We don't wanna start at the end of October we…
We do need to get permission from the property owner that is right next to you, just to the west. I think that's the women's crisis people. It's Southwest Behavioral Loans. We just need permission there to access through their property. We're good on that. Okay, so the other stuff, we just need to, we need to get this permit so we can get going.
