All right, we're now gonna go into public appearances. Nova, could you read the regular meeting public appearance notice?
Thank you. How many people plan on speaking tonight? Just a couple. Three. And we have one online. All right. So come on up. Three minutes.
They also have a lot of parking. Serious lot of parking.
It was especially spectacular today. It was. It really was.
Thank you. Anybody else here? Seeing none. Victoria had her hand up. Do you want to speak? Put your hand up if you do. Otherwise, we're going to be pulling it back. Maybe she's going to speak later. All right. Anybody else online want to speak? All right. I'm going to close public comment. And we're going to go to the next item, which is Announcements. City administrator, acting city administrator, do we have any announcements from you?
City Attorney, it's your turn. Do you have any announcements?
That's pretty normal. Okay. Council people. Jeff, you have a comment? Bob? I do not. Alessandra?
Are you up for bribes? but I know that that's.
I was wondering who signed up to be the judge. Congratulations. That's pretty good. I have a quick announcement. At yesterday's special council meeting, council approved two appointments to the building appeals board and approved moving one ADA member to the core group. That solidifies what has now become an important board these days and also means that all 37 positions on our boards and commissions are filled. I think that deserves a round of applause. I want to thank everyone who volunteers. And these are complete volunteers. We're sort of volunteers, but we get paid a little bit, not…
Anybody have a question? I have sort of a comment slash question. And I don't mean this to be cynical. I don't know what the right word is. But I saw the response to the request for more flexibility in landscape plan fees was basically telling people just go buy the plants and put them in. Which I think is great I just want to make sure that that's really okay I'm doing more than that on my project and I did not ask for a refund because mine is a bigger project but I have seen situations where people wanted to do that and they ended up getting in trouble for it so if it's true that if you…
But it sounds like there's a fair amount of flexibility with that subject.
Okay. So I just want to encourage people, don't be afraid to do things. Come in and talk. Is it the front desk here? Do you have to call up the forestry department?
Okay, good. Keep an eye on my front yard. We'll see how it comes out. All right, good. And I appreciate the flexibility that you've had in changing some of these, not just this time, but the last time. And I've heard very positive comments from contractors who've really helped get more projects going. Thank you so much.
The other thing I wanted to ask about is I had mentioned large construction projects and the fee schedule on that because it hasn't been looked at in a long time. Is that something in the future that you might take a look at I think what we had talked about last time my reaction is we're going to bring that forward next year when we do the budget okay that's a much bigger discussion changing our rubric for assessing building valuation versus towers okay very good so I think we're ready we have to do a reading do you want to take us into that public public comment do we have any comments on…
Yeah, fee scheduled. Good, Nancy, I'm sorry about that. That's why I keep all these people up here, to keep me on schedule here.
Thank you. Our new public works director is here and he's listening. Any other comments? I'd like to make a comment back to you, Nancy, on that. This isn't just sidewalks. There are lots of courtyards like Anton and Michelle's courtyard. I know they hire pressure washers to go and clean their private areas that are in the commercial buildings. So it is very useful to them to keep their private property clean as well. But thank you for the comment. Anybody else? All right, bring it back here. Anybody have a comment about any of this? Ready to make a motion? Second reading?
It's a resolution, okay. Yeah, I'll make. Go ahead.
One time with Carmel Cares, I got funding from the businesses, and we managed doing most of downtown.
Great idea. Anything else? Anybody want to make a motion? Jeff, you were going to.
Very good. So number two, urgency ordinance establishing interim home hardening regulation citywide. Go ahead, Brandon.
Thank you. Any questions? This is the second time we've seen this, so probably not. Public comment?
Thank you. Yes. Thank you for your comment. Okay. After everybody talks, you've got notes of that. Next. Anybody else? It's an important topic. Nobody online? Oh, yes. Come on up.
All right. Thank you. Nobody online? We'll bring it back for council discussion.
I have a question related to Tasha's comment. She mentioned DG. Oh, thank you. Does DG qualify along with gravel within the close proximity of the house?
And that takes effect immediately, correct? It is effective right now. Yes. Thank you. I love those. All right. Orders of business. We've got A big one. Number three, city administrator recruitment update and salary range.
