Is there any value in us approving that? and not the other tonight? Or do you want to just leave them all together? I'm sorry, Mayor, what? Is there any value in approving that and not the others? Or do you want to just keep them all together?
We'll come back next month. We're going to come back next month. I apologize, Brandon. It sounds like we didn't. No apologies needed. We probably needed more vetting last time. Sorry.
We're going to continue item five at will, compensation and benefits plan to next month, regular meeting. so we can have a more thorough discussion about this and have the correct person representing this issue at that meeting.
No, this is a very interesting and important subject, and the more I dig into it, the more it gets more confusing, the more you understand about it. Okay. Okay. We're into public hearing. Number six, housing element implementation ordinance.
Okay. Thank you. All right, we're going out for public comment. Anyone have a comment? Anybody online?
Marnie, do you want to answer that? Sounds like you have some knowledge of it too, Hans. I'm going to defer to our director.
Okay, you're answered. Is the question answered? Yes. Okay, thank you for that question. This will be the last speaker. We're past our curfew. Hi.
All right, thank you, Donna. Thank you. All right, any discussion?
Good job, Marnie. First step is over. All right. So we're on to future agenda items. Anybody have one? Go ahead, Jeff.
I talked to Rob about it. It's still hard. They're pushing hard. That's why we're having the meeting this week.
Okay, thank you for bringing it up. Anybody else? You're always welcome to provide input outside of this venue, so if you have anything, please let us know before Tuesday.
Looks like there's no other business tonight, so... This regular meeting of the Carmel-by-the-Sea City Council is adjourned at... We need to dedicate it to... Oh, that's right. I'm going to let you end this. Go ahead.
Let's take a little moment of silence for them. Okay, the regular meeting of the Carmel by the Sea City Council is adjourned at 9.47 p.m. Thank you, everybody, for your attendance.
Good afternoon. It's Tuesday, September 1st, 2026. We're at Carmel-by-the-Sea City Hall on an absolutely beautiful day here. If you don't live here, you should come and see what it looks like sometime. And I'd like to call this regular meeting of the Carmel-by-the-Sea City Council to order at 4.30 p.m. City Clerk, could you please call the roll?
Just so everybody knows, we had a meeting just prior to this at 3.30. It was a special meeting to discuss an issue regarding the city administrator process, which we have on item three on this agenda. So we've been busy a little bit. Some of the people in the room were here for that meeting. But this is a new meeting with a new agenda. And before we begin, a reminder that this is a hybrid meeting. Members of the public may attend in person, participate via Zoom, or if you wish to make a comment on Zoom only. Watch the live stream on the city's YouTube page now or any time in the future. We'll…
Thank you. If necessary, council will take a 30-minute break around 6.30 p.m. I think we're probably going to need it tonight. We're now going to do our extraordinary business. We have three items. Is somebody from Carmel High School here? I didn't get noticed on that. So we have two items. Hopefully they'll be back soon. They have very entertaining report outs and we enjoy it. So the first item we're going to have tonight is the nonprofit spotlight. Very excited to have Monterey Peninsula College Foundation here. We've been trying to get them on the agenda for a few months now. We keep…
You did great. That was a really good presentation.
I might add. Because there were only three people at the listening session at the gathering room. But it was a very good session. I had no idea how much space you have there, even though I took a class, because you don't see the whole thing.
And they have two brand new buildings that are stunning. One of them, the music dance, that whole dance.
And then the other one, it was like an admissions office or something.
Things are happening. It's amazing, amazing. Go out there and walk around a little bit and And when you take a class, I had so much fun because I hadn't been to college in a long time. And I got on there, I felt like I was young again, right?
And it's low cost. It's fantastic. All right, thank you so much. Thank you. Okay, the next spotlight is the Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Proclamation, and Councilperson Dramoff has offered to read the proclamation, and I think you've done this before, right?
This is something special for you, so go ahead.
Thank you. And thank you for reaching out. And you look like you're having a lot of fun with this.
How do we help you? How do we support you?
