Alright, everybody. We're going to start. We're going to call to order. Let's go ahead and start off with roll call. My name is Theresa Caracciolo. Am the chair.
Amy Stephens.
Board member. Joan Morgan.
We have Lisa Rowe who will be here in about fifteen minutes. I hear Keith's on the hallway that could be here. Don't know. And then joining us for observation, we have? Keith Lieberman. Thank you. Anybody else want to roll call in? For staff, it's Jan Carrillo. Carol Estrada. And that's it.
Okay. So let's start with the pledge of allegiance. I pledge allegiance to the flag of The United States Of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Please be seated. Thank you, everybody. Do we have any public comments? No. So there's no public comments. Item number five on the list, approval of the minutes. I went ahead and signed the statement for the minutes from last meeting.
I make the motion that we approve the minutes from our last meeting.
Second. And third for approval. And I have the copy here waiting for you guys at the end of the meeting. Under article a, approve the 1715. We just did that. Advisory Board minutes from September 15. Thank you, everybody. Item number six, new business. Review of fiscal year twenty twenty three-twenty twenty four Northport and Nonprofits United n p two agency, twelve month impact reports. So on the board, she's got the twelve month impact statement.
The very first one is from Awaken. And I read through each of these, and I thought they were fabulous. Yeah. I'm glad that you brought them up on the board. I don't know if you can zoom in on just, like, key highlights. Because I remember board members, we were approving funding for specific items. And here's where they're reporting on those items. The systematic approach ripple effect by stabilizing individuals and families in times of need. This helped to reduce the strain on health care, education, and social service. What was do you remember what their item was?
Our primary mission? If you scan through it. Yes. It was a the generator and a fan. And that's how it impacted their business at that time, the generator and the fan. The funding went to it, they used it accordingly. Okay. So that was Awaken?
Yeah. And Awaken, they gave last year over 3,000,000 pounds of food away. Oh. You know? And the showers just for the homeless. Oh my gosh. I mean, what a phenomenal group. They had 27,855 of volunteer hours. It's unreal. God bless you.
Yes. Fantastic. Thank you for that input, Jen. I really appreciate it. Next item, backpack angels twelve month report.
I don't know if you're able
to zoom in a little tiny bit. And on the right hand side, we see because of the general support of the city, m p two, we were able to continue to deliver tote bags of hygiene products to homeless and needy children of Northport through 10 public schools and seven preschools. In 2024, we packed and delivered over 1,000 bags a month. The children we serve qualify for free and reduced lunches, and it's based on family income in Sarasota County. Fabulous.
Absolutely. And again, these were all funding requests that have gone through a six month impact statement and now we're at the twelve month impact statement. I'm I'm filling in our newer member to be, hoping to attract him to the board because it's
so You're gonna be overwhelmed by what we do. It's so worthless.
No, you're
not. But what's really cool is now this full circle moment where what we approve for funding is shown in their impact. So loving it. Next item, Big Brothers and Big Sisters twelve month report.
Seven students with technology and access to it. So they're carrying through what they wanted.
All seven of the at risk Mhmm. Achieve timely grade level promotion or high school graduation. Thanks for the benefit of the technology access that your grant provided. Combined with our professionally supported one to one mentoring services, each of these students is achieving academically despite the many personal and familial challenges that they face. Amen. Thank you so much for that. Next item, Kiwanis twelve month report. We measure the impact by giving children what they need. We had parents come to us because they couldn't afford school uniforms or supplies. Some needed bikes so their children could ride to school.
Others needed a new car to take their children to day care for the first time. When the need is there, we know. These are families who fall under the asset limited income constrained employee level. They don't have extra income, but they work two jobs. We also know the impact because the schools are reaching out. We know this means the teachers and other staff don't have to buy the personal hygiene goods. They don't have to buy the sneakers, underwear, socks for these students. Bikes and car seats.
What's that? Bikes and car seats too. Were Wow.
Without on spot assistance, teachers would need to take money out of their pocket, which we do, or beg it from another source and then wait. The outcome is that students thrive. They have their own supplies and uniforms. So it's really neat as a teacher to see this side that I don't ever hear in the classroom, but I suddenly see students thriving. So it's really for me, it's a full circle moment to see that.
And I'm grateful They're coming up with a $100,000 grant to get a new trailer on Sam Shapos Drive, finally been approved to do some of their work because they got blown out. Mean, the hurricane just took the old trailer and everything away, you know?
Yeah. It's amazing. Thank you so much. And, I love hearing about the other side of it, the organizations that take over and help the students that we see suddenly thriving that maybe might have dropped out of high school. Absolutely.
Next, literacy volunteers. 549 students have registered for our service. 372 students reside in Northport and are served by the Northport Library. And, 15% of the Northport based students meet our weekly training time requirement. Development is still underway for eligible students who are extending their learning to enable job placement and employee referrals to area employers.
Our annual turnover for new volunteer instructor tutors is 35% to 40%. This is based upon graduation from our two days of training. What were they requesting? And what did we approve? They had received a laptop. That was the laptop one. That was for their first And if you scroll down a little further Yeah. Yeah. This is being done to establish a baseline upon which the base later comparisons. So they're implementing new computerized systems to measure the language competency of each new student.
So that's they're it's they're clearly evident that they're using it and they'll have that in the future. We have to back it up. Northport Corral. Ticket sales are the single most important measure of success. We're happy to report we sold 370 tickets. What was their item of request? Lavaliers. I'm sorry? Lavaliers. Oh, lavaliers?
Which gives the ability to diversify our performances with solos, duets and small groups. Okay, wonderful. They're reporting back to us how they were used. Team court twelve month report. Since submitting the previous reporting of clothing items, MP2 program, our population, which is on below the poverty level or had the inability to obtain dress clothing on their own, has benefited 24 clients who reside in Northport.
As a result, these clients receive the opportunity to serve their consequences, therefore preventing them from having a criminal conviction. I remember Joan discussing the how the what they wear in court matters.
Yeah. I mean, what they do and and the sound equipment that we got in the next round, very, very important. And I will say, and I'm sure that you're aware of this, that they're gonna be part of there's gonna be a Northport University teens. And it's gonna be have a lot of the kids, hopefully, from the D5 program and Teen Court. There's gonna be a lot of people wanting that, and that's gonna be fantastic. If we show kids, if we take an interest in them, I mean, team court, no matter what you say about it, there's something magic about it and let kids that are in team court don't get in trouble afterwards. The percentage is less. So I don't care what magic, it works, But it works it. And if the kids get the message without having a criminal record Right. Hallelujah.
Right. And so they serve the funding went to that and they served that. Lastly, Women's Resource Center. We have received all the items that have been using them. In the case of the paper, it has been utilized. So paper, was that a did we approve paper? Isn't that a
consumable item? What was it, Carol?
I don't I think it was a printer, computer, desktop.
Okay. Okay. Yeah. I
It was an accessory.
It was office supplies and office furniture.
Yeah. Mhmm.
Got it. I I love the the stats, which are two twelve clients indicated they've improved their mental health, two thirty nine clients increased their financial security, 118 clients obtained employment, 85 clients secured stable housing. That's huge. That's great. That is huge. And that concludes our twelve month impact reports. For '23, '24. There were three that didn't make it. Is that correct? Three.
Well, we've got some others, but that's 24.5.
Were there three businesses that didn't There was two. There were two?
So it was Northport High School Orchestra Okay. Boys and Girls Club, and then Northport Forward, but they're no longer in business. So they returned the items to us.
Oh, that's right. Wow. And then what do we do with orchestra and boy boys and girls club? Do we follow-up?
I have tried multiple times to reach out. I have not gotten
an answer back. Do you want me to go and knock on the door over there?
At this point.
Could it be because you're in construction and all this stuff too? North the boys and girls club and all?
Maybe. I'm
sure because you're really I don't know what's over there right now.
But orchestra, that's as simple even. Northport Orchestra returned. Yeah. Yes. Or return the I don't wanna sound mean, but or return the item. Yeah. We need your twelve month impact statement or return.
That would be
based on the committee of what you guys would want to Yeah.
Follow-up email. I suggest for the orchestra, we send an email to who's this new orchestra teacher? Doctor Hill. Doctor Hill. Doctor Hill. Okay. Okay. Her email is is it Laura Hill? Laura dot Hill
Okay.
@SarasotaCountySchools.net.
Okay.
And just reach out to her. Hey. You forgot to submit your twelve month impact statement in order for you to keep the items that we funded. You must this is a non negotiable.
Okay. Because they didn't submit their six or 12.
That's so mandatory, bold letters.
Okay.
She'll return she'll reply the email with apology, I'm sure. And I'll go over and knock on this. And say, hey.
I think the boys and girls club the same thing even though they're in construction. No, there's gotta be a central office because they're still working with kids and that there's gotta be something going on over there. And they're gonna want future grants, so they better make sure they get this one right.
Yeah. If they're being qualified months, but they
didn't submit their 12,
the boys and girls club.
Okay. Yeah. So the workshop behind the eight ball on that one, they didn't even do the six months? Is it that they don't know about it?
It doesn't
seem I reached out. Sent emails. They had referred me. I guess the person who signed up, Michael Alegria, is no longer there.
Oh. Maybe that's why. So Then
I sent it out to someone else, and then that email came back undeliverable.
And I
had spoken to her. Laura Hill? No. It was someone else. Started with a
c, I think. Let me see. It's gonna take me a minute to find Okay. Yes. Take a minute. Okay. Yeah. Look that up because we can maybe get to the bottom of that. Okay. So it sounds more like it's going to the wrong person, which is just communication, which is much better than avoidance. Yeah.
Because they need it. There's a lot going on over there and they they yeah. They need it. They need it. And they're gonna want you to share once.
Keep a we wanna stay on the positive Mhmm. In terms of following through in character and yeah.
Yeah. They'll have to submit their twelve month in order to be eligible moving forward for any other funding cycle. If not, they're not gonna be eligible. Mhmm.
Mhmm. Exactly. And then she's looking that up. We can continue. It says review of fiscal year 2425, agency twelve month impact reports. Courtney Apollini? She's the assistant principal over science now.
Oh, okay.
That's what happened. So who is now She's still over the arts. Over arts as well? Or is that Jamie Lowitz? Oh, I think it's Courtney would so she took on a lot in the beginning of the school year. She was not the person in charge of that as recently as last year. So at the six month so is Alegria still is he still part of Northport High School? So that high turnover, I guess, is what's happening. That's how that
A lot of moving
up positions. Maybe the email should start off with, last year, mister Alegreno was funded for the I list the item. Are you still using it? We need reports that you are, or we have to come and get it at the school. And she may find it in a closet and use it, or she may return it to you, or she may keep it and say thank you and here's how we're using it. Okay. And maybe a b c. Those are her three choices. Okay. Please search for the item and and either use it and tell us how you're using it or return it to us.
Okay. Heather Nelson is over VPA, so I'll The head of the head of VPA. That's great. Copy on the email, Heather nels Heather dot nelson Okay. And copy on the email, Courtney c Courtney Apollone, the assistant principal that oversees the department and the department chair. Okay. So between those three people, the new teacher of orchestra, the department chair, and the assistant principal that oversees it, I wouldn't do a step further Janet Fusco, I wouldn't do a step further because that's overkill. And she'll just bounce it back to one of those three people. So if you have those three people, you're covered. Somebody should Definitely somebody will respond.
Funding was given. All we are requesting is please follow through at your earliest convenience so that you may keep the item on location. Okay. Thank you so much.
You're welcome. It's the same with the Boys and Girls Club. Think you just got a miscommunication. God knows who's in charge of what. But, you know, I don't want them to
Lose out.
Lose out, and and I don't want them to get on the bad side of things. You know?
So Okay. Yes. Yes.
You gotta help them to help themselves.
Okay. Oh, so we checked off with item b? Wait at the bottom of the page.
No. We gotta go and turn the
page over. Turn the yes. But is item b checked off? Twelve months impact report, 2425. Right? Well, this was 2324. Yeah. That's now we're doing b. Is 2425. Ah. Yeah. That's what she said.
Turn it over.
Alright. So now now the new year. 2425, we're looking at the twelve month impact reports. So why was there why are we looking at two years of twelve month impact reports? Twenty three-twenty four would have been There was a reason.
There yes. It's because they overlapped. So we started we didn't have our inaugural year wasn't on the normal timeline. So you were you were going to have two years overlapping. The third funding cycle will be back to its normal. Yeah. Perfect. So just this just this beginning, you're gonna be doing double
It's no problem. We appreciate you. Well, I was thinking hurricane pending, we're not gonna have a hurricane this year. No. But if we had right? But had we is there some act of God or something? That is what happens, right? It doubles up and you have to
approve both or Well, no. The the first, inaugural year, we were just behind with the approval of funding and and where we where we started. That's all. It it wasn't due to hurricane. It was just the inaugural year started earlier than its normal timeline. Okay, perfect. Thank you
for explaining that. So folks, we're on the new fiscal year and we're looking at 100 Community Church twelve month report.
And that's
a commercial refrigerator. That was the refrigerator and 3,852 meals. And Sunday morning breakfast in the last quarter with the use of the commercial refrigerator received through the program, increasing our serving to eight meals a week. They're phenomenal. Yeah. Alright. Next one, Family Promise.
They're no longer in in business.
And so what do we do with that one?
What do you mean they're no longer in business?
They've disbanded.
Family Promise? Yeah. Of South Sarasota County?
I the local one in that has, I think here
With Jennifer Faganbaum as the executive director?
Okay. Maybe that's a different branch of it. But anyway
I don't think so.
Okay. All right. Oh, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Northport forward that's disbanded. Yes. Sorry. I'm very,
very sorry.
Okay. You scared me.
Me too.
I scared myself. But anyway, they didn't have a report because
the building's
not ready. Looking at Janet's eyes coming out of her head.
That's right. They didn't have a report because the building got done.
Yes. Yeah. So they're right. As as of now, they're in non compliance. And what was the direction last meeting?
That they will have to submit once they get their building up.
This is the
one we provided extension for. Correct? Correct. Because they were stuck on permitting. Yes.
Yeah.
And so
But we can't give them a deadline yet when they don't know the deadline either. Correct. So once they do put their, you know, business or the shelter up, then we can go ahead and send them six months from now.
Projected for February? Yes. And so what's the timeline? So February, we're gonna ask again if they were able to? Yes. Like, probably January. See how it's going. See how it's going? And then February check-in. Mhmm. And then construction will take over and they'll report to us when it's completed and then
Well, they should be able to utilize the items immediately once they get their CEO and they move in. Okay. It doesn't seem like they would not it would take a while for them to start using the items. The only thing that's keeping them from utilizing the items is receiving the CO and moving in because the renovation is taking longer. I'm going to assume that once the renovation is complete, they're moving in pretty quick. Awesome.
Thank you for that update. Friends of Shannon Staub. Shannon Staub library this is the large print, right? Yes. Okay, I love this.
So it says, Shanslav Library has increased the accessibility of large print books by setting up a display near the circulation desk of the 65 new books received from MP2. This allows patrons to see the books more easily. SSL has increased by 65, the number of large print books by current best selling authors. The 65 new large print books have been circulated four zero two times since their introduction in March. Each book has been borrowed an average of 6.18 times in six months. And the books have been in the library four and a half to six months out of the library four and a half of the six months. So people are using them.
Oh, they're very popular. The ones that are working over there volunteering say this is very popular. Oh,
yeah, yeah.
They love it. They love it.
Good to hear.
Yeah, I love hearing that. My friend who got her doctorate has pretty much quit reading because she has read so much that her eyes hurt. And I thought of her this is Tiffany.
A large print.
I thought of her with a large print. I'm like, maybe she'll start reading again. Her eyes won't have to strain. Very cool. She's not of an age where she should need large print, eyesight based is not age based, right? Or does that serve an older community? Or is it both? It's both. Very interesting. Next, Laurel Civic.
Thanks to the support of Northport nonprofits, we successfully launched our financial literacy program to empower individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to achieve long term stability. Eight individuals completed financial literacy programming over the past twelve months. Participants developed skills in budgeting, credit management, debt reduction and savings planning. Many reported increased confidence in their managing their household finances. So what was purchased? The program itself or the
Yes. The program itself.
Like the books and the
It was a software.
Very good.
Financial literacy programs. Yeah.
So okay. By equipping individuals with the practical financial skills, it strengthens families, build resilience, and directly supports our mission. Thank you so much. Meals on Wheels are next.
Oh, they're great. I love it when they tell you how many cans they've opened. Was the How many meals they served?
How many meals? Yes. Yeah. And opener. I I don't even know what that looks like. Is it like desktop or of them. Total meals served, 21,818. Number of cans opened, 1,486. Hands are this big too. Yeah. Oh, wow. I'm glad you said no. I was thinking little. I thought I had a liquor truck. They're
doing a great job.
That was Meals on Wheels. One mission. During long term recovery efforts, our team collected data on the type of relief provided. So this is disaster relief. Their focus is to the effects of a disaster, whether natural or man made. They go and help and deliver water and deliver supplies if needed. Is this one the that got a trailer? Uh-huh.
Yeah. They also do debris cleaning,
moving The debris clean up, right. And then there's like there were attachments of all the Yeah. Thank
you. Are you able to rotate
that top go above yeah, she's right clicked it.
Nice.
Nice. Can you zoom in a little bit? So debris cleanup, moving assistance, debris a lot of a lot of debris. Muck and gut. $2,000 over muck and gut.
A lot of debris cleanup. I don't know if you guys have driven on Midway Beach in Englewood, Middle Beach, where the road is completely destroyed and the asphalt is thrown up against the telephone poles and the guardrails are wrapped around the telephone poles. I don't know if you've driven on Casey Key North, like one town over.
I actually haven't been out there since the last two hurricanes.
Homes demolished. Road they made a makeshift road on people's To front
be able to access? To give
access to building the new road. Unreal. That is ground zero for Milton, Hurricane Milton, I was told. And I was shocked to see that over the last two weekends, those two areas. And it hit home how close we were to all of this. And so I was happy to read that One Mission is out there doing debris cleanup because it's still out there. One town over, it's still needed. S P A R C C, Spark. Spark. Same place.
Same Okay. Service provision metrics, total number of services provided to survivors, number of individual survivors served, types of services delivered, advocacy, peer counseling, a company name it, and client intakes. Outreach and education data, It was, like, near the bottom where I saw operational efficiency. Conducted nine community education outreach activities. Okay.
Here. Provided 753 services to a 149 individuals in Northport. Services included critical support such as advocacy, 465 peer counseling, 136 accompaniment in hospital setting, two intakes, 150. So, conducted nine community education outreach activities, enhanced presentation quality and effectiveness through improved technology, operational improvements, streamlined documentation process has improved, case management efficiency, enhanced technology has supported more effective coordination with community partners. All wonderful impact statements.
Thank you so much for putting that on the big screen for us. It makes discussion facilitated, and we appreciate it. Item c or article c, discussion and election of new committee member that represents the 55 and wiser community. So I've reached out to two individuals that I thought of three people who could fit the fit this mold in terms of time frame, in terms of commitment level, in terms of dedication, in terms of personality based on thinking behind thought processes of organizations. And two of the people that I thought of are unable to do it.
They're out of town. They cannot serve. The third person that I thought of, and I gave it heavy thought, is sitting in this room. And I requested that he come and just check things out. Check things out and see if you fit the mold and if the mold fits you and if it's a good fit all around.
I know that he I'm vouching for him. It's the chair's responsibility to bring forward somebody. To the best of my ability, I brought somebody that I know has integrity, is a dedicated person to the community, helps others. It kind of fits the theme of all of these organizations on here are helping others. He's a person that genuinely helps others. And I thought that he would be great to serve on the board. His name is Keith Lieberman. He's in the room. He's not allowed to comment because he's not on the board yet. He's shaking his head no.
I think that you would be a great fit, Keith, if you would accept the position. You don't have to give us an answer yet. Am I correct? But the board is here. I'm glad that the board has a chance to meet you.
In order to serve on the board, he has to fill out an application. Is that correct? Correct. So moving forward, if you're interested in serving the position, which is much needed, we need you to, do the position. And we would serve together until my term is over September 2026. So the first year would serve with me as chair. And then when I leave my term, then Lisa takes over as chair. And, you would be serving as in the same role, but a couple of these positions would shift to fit the criteria that our board needs. One is 55 and wiser. Joan offered that. Joan is just community member, what is your title? I don't know what, whatever. She's like, whatever we need on that. Whatever. It's fabulous.
Joan is citizen at large.
Citizen at large. Whatever you want is
fine with me. I don't care.
It's a
title for Joan.
I don't care.
And then, so you would be filling the role of 55 and wiser. They like to stay it that way. And I like that phrase.
Because representative for the older adult community. We say older and wiser.
That has
a good sense of the Northport community. That defines you, Keith. So think about it. Thank you for coming today. There is an application. It's quarterly. So, like, we meet October and then again March. March, and then again July, and then September? Yes or no? Yes.
May. We meet in May, and then in July, and then
September. July is a special meeting though because we have
to vote in people. And I know that you travel and see grandkids, but sometimes they visit you. So I don't know if you would be able to arrange your schedule to meet just those meeting dates. And if there's ever a scheduled conflict, he can miss the board meeting. Is that correct?
Well, as long as we have quorum with, three of you here. Okay. But is
there is this like other boards where three misses and you're out?
This? Okay. Yes. Okay.
So you've got every the first time I get as part
of the board. So something to think of and we appreciate your dedication to. And they give the schedule in advance. You can try to plan Yes. The dates so you know.
Does it fluctuate the schedule at all?
And I think I was at MIT We're
on a tight deadline because internal purchasing or procurement process has to be done, I mean, down to the T. And so there's no fluctuating that.
Do you have the schedule in advance?
Yes, we do.
I'll need to look at that if that's possible because I'm already committed to something in March.
Okay.
Twenty second, twenty third area.
Do you know the dates in March? We don't have it. It was spring break. And you and
both We
don't have a March one?
Nope. We don't have a March.
Is it May?
Yes. May 18. Right.
May 18? May 18. Nice. Look at him put check-in the calendar. So he's giving it serious thought. Oh, good. Appreciate it.
This is one of the best boards. We give out money for me. This is cool.
Basically, yeah.
We help people.
That's neat. People request for funding up to 2,000. Right? Right. Has to
be something it can't be like, you can't give them diapers or dog food. It has to be something that's used by multiple people. Right.
The comes from taxes from everybody?
Where does the money come from?
The money just come from the general fund.
No donations, just taxes for the county or city?
Yes. Any donation that we receive to the division goes into the general fund. So if any donations are given, it goes into the big pot of money.
I know I'm talking. Am I allowed to ask these things?
No. Thank you, ma'am.
I'm not asking anything else.
I'm sorry.
You can talk under public comments. If you have more questions, and then you can email Julia if you have any questions. Also, she'll be your liaison, part of your board board specialist. Any questions you can ask after because you're not part of the board, so you can ask us anything after the meeting.
So he can stay a minute or two afterwards and discuss with one of you. Is that That'd be great. Also, it helps to know, like, what's he signing up for? When we go over applications, we review the items that they're requesting. Do they meet the criteria for what we're giving money for? And basically, did they fill out the application correctly? A lot of times, we couldn't give funding because they missed one part of the app like, it kills us. Where it may become more difficult is if the number of organizations requesting funding grows. Then we have to pick and choose who gets the money. We haven't been put in that position yet because we just started out last year.
Word has been spreading. More organizations have been. There a do you notice a difference between the first year and the second year? One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight for '23, 20 '4. And then for '24, 20 '5, was there a difference in the number of people requesting? 3456, seven. Because there were eight, but one something felt they were no longer. The reasons that we couldn't do. The reasons we couldn't Yeah. Yeah.
So The amount of agencies I have applied have been pretty comparable. I think that the things have been just different or just the items.
But it's going to grow. Believe me. Others are going to learn. Wait a minute. I got an idea. It's going to grow.
And has any business requested twice? They've already learned, Okay, this is a yearly thing. Can do it every other.
Team Core, Quanus have both gotten two, they're great groups, so.
Wonderful. And so it's really fun to, number one, supply people. It's it almost gives them hope when they get that funding. And then to see the six month report on how they're using it and the twelve month on how it made an impact. It's been a very fulfilling position for me to serve. And I know that I know you knowing your personality, I know that you would enjoy seeing that process in a community where you live. So give it heavy thought. You don't have to answer me today. Not twisting your arm today. Item number seven.
I'm sorry. There's an attachment JM committee application. Oh, cool. Did you wanna bring that attachment up? Yeah. That's Jones application for the older population.
I'll do as I say, whatever. Don't
know. Okay. That's not a blank.
Oh, that's Jones? Is that your suggestion? That's what is that's
They sent me the thing on it because in case you got somebody younger, then be the older one.
Got it. Got it. Got it. You know, I She's willing to fill whatever role. Whatever. You're such a team player, Joan. I love it. Hey, whatever. Cool. So item seven I'm sorry. Before I move on to item seven, did we wrap up anything regarding the application process? Did anybody else have a member that they wanted to suggest for the committee or for the board?
I had one that would be good, Christine Wagner Bellini, but I can't I don't have her email and I don't have her phone number, so I'm trying to get ahold of her. And so you know, because she'd be good. She certainly knows, nonprofits, Mhmm. But I can't get ahold of her.
And Julie King is out of Julie King is not
is still trying to raise the school in Kansas, you know, to come back She's saving the world. She's saving the world. Yes. I believe that. She would love to hear you guys say that. I'm gonna have to tell her that. We're closing the door on that discussion.
Yeah. Before we move on that, I have two suggestions and then we need direction from you. On the impact statement, there's two things that I'd like to add there. And that's just because as we're as we've been doing these and as we're reviewing them and we're looking at them, we're you gonna tweak them and we're gonna make them applicable to what we need. But I do believe that on the impact statements, you know how we changed they didn't have the agency name. Now we have that. We have the fiscal year. I suggest that we put in the item that they requested and the amount. Yes.
Yes.
Because that we're way not going back and forth. Yes. It's right there. That would help. Yes. So if you guys can give us direction on that and
go back. 1000%, yes. So what direction do you need? Approval? You have my full approval. You are totally right because I was
going by reading all these. And I'm trying to remember exactly what they were for Yeah. And trying to fit in because So how that's like in a Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And then I'm thinking, well, okay. Why can't I remember this?
Yeah. It would
be But usually, when you read them down, you could you could remember.
You figured
out. But
but that's a good idea.
To have it a phone top where it says Yeah.
Let's just make it simple.
I wanna you list it early in the in the report because Like agency name
Yes. And under that,
the item.
That's where I'm thinking. And the amount. The very first page that you see. Beautiful. Yes.
Here it is. What here's
what you're from them to
do those changes on the application?
On the
Which item was that under? A or
B? No. B. I mean, A and B.
A and B. The impact reports. We want to add two items to the official impact reports or two lines, two things. Is it called an application or just an impact So future
agenda? So that'll be under item what? Seven. Under seven? Yeah. Oh, perfect. Yes. Do they need to verbally give us direction on what changes need to be made?
What are you so what
are you guys trying to do?
I'm making a suggestion to them for them to give us direction on, updating the impact statement document to include the item that the agency is receiving and the amount because it's not on there. So we're we're having to go back and look for the information to give it to them. Or when they're reviewing those eight statements, it's easier for them to know, oh, that we gave them a laptop and this was the amount that it cost.
Give me one second. You guys can start speaking under future items and let me get clarification. You guys can go back and make it.
Yeah. It's just updating. Kinda like how they gave us direction last time to update the application. Give us direction to update the statement.
Me one second. Let me go Okay. Clarification.
Maybe it should be phrased item received because now we're going back after twelve months. What item did you receive from us?
How much was it? It is they are doing a report on the item received.
Correct.
So yeah. So maybe you should say item received and amount of item. Amount of the item. Perfect. But those two things need
to be
on this front page.
It makes it easier. That definitely would help. Yes.
Okay. Or do you
wanna phrase it as cost? Cost awarded? Cost of item. Cost of item
or cost of I would
say funding Funding awarded. Funding awarded. Funding allocated
on do you want the date on there? Funding awarded on such and such date or is that getting too specific? I might not remember the
date. Yeah. Your fiscal year is at the bottom. So your fiscal year is it will tell you when it was purchased we know when it was purchased.
Okay. Funding awarded for that item. I leave it up to you how you want to phrase it. I love the idea of adding that. I think it would add such clarity. Thank you so much. And she's coming back to us with that?
Yes.
So item number eight, public comments. Did you guys have anything else for your future agenda items or no?
So for
our We're
still on seven.
What are for our future, are we just reviewing what we're doing on the future or the next agenda? No. We don't have any.
At least hold on. She's checking. Hold on. Which we discussing? Okay. Sorry.
Here, our next meeting is November 16. That's based on this? Is that
this year or next year? It's next year. Sorry.
It's on the other page. May 18 is the next one.
Yeah. Yeah. 2026
on this. Yes. Okay. So right now, we're doing the October 20. I'm so sorry. I was in I was a year in advance. Okay. Look at me. 10/20/2025 is today, and then our items are being purchased in November. That's not your part. And so it looks like the next meeting is May 18. Correct.
In May 18, we'll review the items that were applied.
We'll renew the six month impact reports for the third funding cycle. And then you'll need to vote on a new chair and vice chair. This will be your last meeting, Theresa. In
May? Yeah. Looks that's what it's You're letting me off early? What was the date? I'm sorry.
May 18. May 18.
What was the
guys are good to go back to that item and make the motion.
Okay.
When you look at your minutes next meeting, it's gonna look a little weird. The item's gonna be on there twice. So because we're in future agenda items, the motion is gonna it's gonna have the item in just the motion, but it's gonna be under future agenda items
Okay.
Since we're going back to it, but we're already here. Okay. I know it's gonna look a little weird.
It's gonna, like, reference it from before reference because you
guys are going back to make a motion, it's not gonna be directly under it. It's gonna be under the item, but just not everything else. It's just gonna be separate.
Okay. Okay.
Sounds good.
Just in case you guys review these minutes next meeting, you're like That's
what happened.
So weird. So
the do they have to give us formal direction or the discussion that we've already
suffice?
Are you guys on talking under future agenda?
Yes. Mhmm.
Yeah. So then you're just gonna call back out the item that you guys need to make a motion under, make your motion. Sure.
But I'm not as chair, I'm not allowed to make a motion.
No. So
have to one of the board make a motion to approve the add to lines to the I'll make a motion to add those two things on the impact reports from now on. It's going to add the item that they received and the funding that they received. I'll second that. Third. Okay. Thank you. Great job, Janet. And meeting is adjourned. Great job, everybody. I did public comment while you were gone.
No. We didn't.
This week Yeah. She did say it. She did. She did. Certainly did.
Okay. But there was no public comment. Right?
There was no public comment.
I thought there was public comment and then forgot. Okay. So now adjourned.
Meeting is adjourned. Thank you.
