celebrations. There's bound to be some extra waste around the house. Let's keep our city beautiful by sorting it right. Here's a quick refresher to make it easy. The green card is for organics like food scraps and yard waste, but not palm frrons. So, any leftovers or even your unflocked Christmas tree can go here. Just be sure to remove the decorations and tree stand first. The blue cart is for recyclables. Toss in those holiday cardboard boxes, paper gift bags, wrapping paper without plastic or glitter flakes, clean cans, glass bottles, plastics numbered 1 through 7, and paper. And finally, the black cart is for general trash. That's where items like chip bags, pizza boxes, tissue paper, flocked Christmas trees, cellophane wrapping, and things that can't be recycled or composted go. Let's all do our part this season. By using the right cart, you're giving Newport Beach the gift of clean, green neighborhoods. Visit newport beachca.gov/recycling for more tips on waste sorting and recycling. Newport Beach is home to some of Southern California's most beautiful beaches. Keep our coastline clean and safe by following these important beach regulations. The city of Newport Beach welcomes millions of visitors a year, and the vast majority are well- behaved. But for those who choose to violate the law, there are definitely consequences. Don't take your chances on an arrest or expensive citation that will ruin your weekend. As our guest, please respect our beaches and our neighborhoods. Thank you. Whether you're a firsttime visitor or a local, here's what you need to know before you go. Our beaches are open 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and the peers stay open until midnight. For parking, skip the stress. Just use one of the many parking apps accepted at city lots. Here's what not to bring. No alcohol,

glass containers, grills, tents, big parties, or amplified music. Let's keep the beach safe and familyfriendly. Thinking about s'mores at a beach bonfire? Don't forget designated fire rings are first come, first serve. Most importantly, keep it under control. Bringing your pup. Dogs are welcome before 10:00 a.m. and after 4:30 p.m. on a leash, of course. And please remember to scoop their poop. Always follow lifeguard instructions and posted signs. They're here for your safety. Remember, when in doubt, don't go out. During holidays and busy weekends, some beaches are part of safety enhancement zones. This means fines can be tripled for rule violations. Thanks for helping us keep Newport Beach beautiful. Have fun, stay safe, and we'll see you by the water. Welcome to San Miguel Park, home to Newport Beach's first
