All right, seeing that it is now 6:30, we will call to order the meeting of the town of New Palestine Planning Commission and we will start with the pledge of allegiance. Pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you everyone for joining us this evening for this meeting. Fortunately, you didn't have to shelter your sidewalk to get here today. Maybe that was two days ago. So, uh, can we start with the roll call, please? Bill Neyer here. Nancy Owens here. Eric Prop

10:47 – 11:250

here. Chris Wernern absent. Ryan Hartley here. Brian Smith here. And Chad Mender absent. Okay, we have a quorum. Thank you very much. Uh the first thing that we need to consider on our agenda is approval of the minutes from our meeting on February 18th. So hopefully everybody's had the opportunity to review the minutes. Is there a motion regarding the minutes? I'll make a motion to approve the minutes from February 18th. Second.

11:23 – 11:480

Okay, it has been moved and second. That means that it's now open for discussion. Do any of the members have any comments, questions, concerns, proposed changes to the minutes? Seeing none. All those in favor of the minutes as presented, please indicate by saying I. I. I.

11:44 – 12:270

Opposed? Nay. Motion carry. The minutes are approved. We do not have any old business this evening. So, we'll move right on to new business. And tonight we have we're going to start with a public hearing. And the public hearing this evening is on resolution 031826. And I'll just real briefly describe what that resolution does. Y Mr. President, we let's go ahead and just uh describe as you're saying and then hold the public hearing after. I think it's a little bit out of order, but okay. All good. Then we can open it to a public hearing.

12:260

All right. We'll just describe the resolution first, then we'll open up a public hearing on it.

12:31 – 13:510

But I'd like to tell you what we're opening a public hearing on. So, resolution 031826 is a resolution that does two things. It specifically says that permanent freestanding and temporary sport back stops are permitted provided that they are maintained and are in good condition. The second thing that the ordinance provides is that no such back stops will be placed whether they're permanent or temporary in any street or within an easement adjacent to a street. So that's what that resolution does. Now, how about if we open up a public hearing regarding that resolution and anybody that has any comments, concerns, input, now would be the time to let us know your thoughts. Going once, twice. Okay. Uh, do I have a motion to close the public hearing?

13:50 – 14:330

Make a motion to close the public hearing. Second. It's been moved and seconded. All those in favor of closing the public hearing, please indicate by saying I. I. I. Oppose. Say nay. Motion carries. Not the most eventful public hearing in the history of the town, but again, we have to go through the procedural steps. So now for consideration by the plan commission is ordinance 031826. So would anybody like to make a motion regarding that ordinance or resolution? Excuse me.

14:31 – 15:110

Before any motions, just so I can uh procedurally just point out this is the first step. Um later on tonight, we'll be having uh the the uh town council consider this. So starts with you all. you recommend it to the town council. The town council gets uh second shot at it's kind of a checks and balances sort of sort of deal. So um that will be happening later tonight. Okay. Thank you, Zach. So we're we are voting on a recommendation correct to the council. That's correct. I'll make a motion to make a recommendation to the council to adopt resolution 031826.

15:10 – 15:550

I'll second. Okay, it's been moved and second and that means that it's now open for discussion. Are there any comments, concerns regarding the resolution as presented? Seeing none, all those in favor of the resolution as presented, please indicate by saying I. I. I. Opposed, indicate by saying nay. Motion carries and the recommendation will be made by the plan commission to the town council to approve the ordinance. And there's only one item left on our agenda. I'll make a motion to adjurnn. I'll second.

15:530

All those in favor of adjourning, please indicate by saying I. I. I. We are ajourned. And thank you very much.
