Planning and Zoning - Regular Meeting

e e e i' like to call to order a special meeting of the uh Nish Planning and Zoning commission um the audio of our meetings are available at www.city of nadish la.gov uh we have one resoning application tonight that will be introduced at January 27th at this location at 5:00 it won't be voted on until February the 10th 2025 everyone's any interested parties are encouraged to attend uh normally what we tell folks is that on the first introduction it's not supposed to be discussed but if somebody shows up that says they can't be here February the 10th the council sometimes will let them speak so I encourage any the applicant or his designate to show up at the 27th meeting but not speak unless they

um they allow somebody that to talk that can't be on February 10th we have no uh applications that are subject to appeal tonight is that correct that's correct all right I'd ask everybody to sign in that if they didn't speakers will identify themselves up front speak directly in the microphone our next Planning and Zoning meeting is Tuesday February the 4th 2025 since it appears that only the applicant of our single application is here I'll dispense with the order of how we'll do business um any other comments Madam director not at the moment uh numeral two roll call Miss Oaks here here here here here Ricky Alex here wter Johnson here here all right by my count that's a COR you concur Miss Oaks Miss Rock sir yes sir okay uh we're going to dispense with the approval of the meeting uh minutes there's no urgent uh matter with that uh nobody's needing certified copies of minutes for anything is that right Miss Rock that's correct we'll defer that until the February meeting and we'll do October December and January at that time old business technically the city council took up applications last night but that that meeting didn't finish till 6:30 or 7:00 and we're just going to defer old business till next time because unfortunately it's going to be about eight or nine things that need to be listed and time just didn't allow for that any of our old business uh Madam director not at this moment five new business subsection 5.1 Mr Malcolm biles 842nd Street to reone the following location a lot on the west side of Second Street North by fixer South by Cathy from R2 to R1 special exception the reason is to open and operate a short-term rental Business Council person District Number Four

exhibit number one in commissioner's packet the applicant or his Desy would come forward while we get a summary from the director again this is another one of our short-term Ral applications the property is currently zoned R1 um but it was my recommendation that we do a rezone into r i mean excuse me currently zoned R2 and I recommended that he request for R1 with a special exception because we do not have anything in our ordinance to actually address the R2 to operate for a shortterm Ral that's correct any any response to the 300t letters that we sent out not one no one response all right any other comments by the director regarding this application no sir it's in I mean it's in line with what we're requesting for short-term run and it's located in the historic district as well in in the National Historic District correct that's correct all right would Mr Bowser's Desy come forward please state your name and address for the record Malcolm BS uh 805 smithbrook Road Ville Louisiana Mr B you heard the summary of the uh of the director of your application uh is there anything you need to add or correct or modify about her summary uh no sir all right um questions from Mr B from uh commission members hearing none since there's no one else here I won't call for opposition discussion by commission members does it meet all the question car it does make a motion to approve motion by Clay to approve second by dboy all in favor say I I I'll oppose like side passes Mr biles you heard my um comments about the 27th I don't think anybody's going to show up but you know if
