Okay, we're ready, council members. So I don't have to. Okay, I will call this regular meeting of the Milpita City Council of June 2nd, 2026 to order. The City Council meeting is available. TO CONFIRM THE 2026 WE DEBATEMENT ASSESSMENT REPORT. AND THE STAFF CONTACT ON THIS IS DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF, FIRE MARSHAL.

NEW SPEAKER GOOD EVENING, MAYOR, COUNCIL MEMBERS. I'M GOING TO TRY TO MAKE THIS QUICK SO PEOPLE CAN MOVE ON WITH THEIR EVENING. NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE. As you understand, this is the third iteration you see this on your agenda for the year on a weed abatement. On March 3rd, this council adopted a resolution declaring weeds growing on properties to be a nuisance to be abated. Next slide, please. Since that time, staff looked to see those properties where the nuisance was not removed and contracted with the county to remove those weeds. In accordance with the municipal code, the county filed a report with the city assessment list on weeds abated within the city as nuisances. Pursuant to the California Health and Safety Code, a copy of this report and assessment list as confirmed will be turned over to the county auditor on or before August 10th. A notice of this public hearing was sent by the city clerk's office to the local newspaper for publication, as well as mailed out from my office to individual property owners. Next slide please. No piece municipal code requires City Council here this report, together with any objections from property owners who may show up following adoption by the City Council, the resolution will be recorded and charges become a lien on the land involved and collected the same manner as property taxes. A copy of this assessment list is included in your packet along with the resolution. Next slide, please. Recommendations open public hearing is subsequently close following any public comment adopt the resolution confirming the 2026 we debatement assessment report and assessment list to be entered into the tax assessment roles. I am here to answer any questions, I believe, as well online is the manager for the program with the county Gary so so lesky.

I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Kano for being with us for the last three and a half years. I think this is her his last council meeting. I'm going to miss him a lot, and I know he's going to be successful wherever he goes, but you're always welcome back.

Every time Matt, when I call him, he answers right away, and he Takes care of it, too, you know, so for the most part, yeah, so hard worker. You're really dedicated, and Fremont is so lucky to have you, and we're going to miss you. And remember, you can always come back.
