All right and welcome. And I would like to call the March 10th, 2026 council meeting to order. And I'll ask the clerk to please call the role. Dr. Lee here. Miss Simmons here. Miss Shen Holster here. Miss Pendergas here. Miss Map here. Dr. Wills here. We do have a quorum present and can continue with the meeting. If you will please stand with me for the prayer and the pledge. And I'm going to ask uh Dr. the wills of here the prayer prayer for tonight. Sure.
As we pray, Lord, thank you for this day, this time, this opportunity to be here to help the citizens to do the business of this city and to make sure that we progress forward. We ask that you help us clear our minds, our hearts, so that we know and we'll do the right thing. Thank you for all the blessings of life. And we ask for a special blessings, a special blessing upon those who are in harm's way today and those that are imperiled around the world. It is in your almighty name that we pray. Amen. Amen.
I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. So, we don't have anyone who has signed up for public comments tonight. And let me reiterate, if you're going to come and make public comments, you have to be here by 5:15 in order to sign in. Uh, at that time, if you're not here by 5:15, by 5:20, we've already pulled the sign in sheet. You all have received a copy of the February 24th, 2026 council meeting minutes. Are there any corrections or amendments that need to be made? Hearing none, is there a motion to adopt the February 24th, 2026 count council meeting minutes?
So moved. Second. Second. We have a motion in a second. I'll ask the clerk to please call the role. Dr. Lee I Miss Simmons I Miss Shhoster I Miss Pendergast I Miss Map I Dr. Wills I The motion carries and the minutes are approved.
Uh on the mayor's comments tonight I really don't have uh any new I think some of you as you came up tonight you saw us standing out there in front of a but as uh they would say on the Andy Griffin show. We have our new fire truck that's coming online and it is gorgeous. uh really really gorgeous and we're proud to have that out there. Um one thing I do want to say is that we are one millie. We're one community and we're going to get this job done in these four years. Uh your mayor received some really awful death threats this week, some really awful emails and I want to just say to everybody, we're here for the long haul. We're here for these four years and we're going to work together. So, let's let's kind of put some of this foolishness to rest and go ahead and be about the business of the city as Dr. Wells said, and let's get the job done together cuz together we can do all things. That's the only comment I have tonight. I think uh council, you all have your uh upcoming annual convention for June 26 through the 30th uh 2026 in Savannah. I do believe Dr. If I'm right about this, does that open up tomorrow for them to start registering?
25th on the 26th. 26th. So, make sure you go ahead and get that back in to Miss Celeste so she could try to get the classes that you want. Um, if you wait and then u they have a hard time getting your classes in. You might not get the class that you want and you have to take or either be on a waiting list to get whatever comes next. And also the hotels.
And your hotel. you have a list of hotels that you can choose from. So, please make sure you do that ASAP. At this time, we uh will move to the city manager's report and I will recognize Miss Hilson Buts. Good afternoon, everyone. Um I don't really have anything for you all tonight. Um thank you for mentioning that about the convention mayor. I was going to mention that. Um I do like to recognize that there are two things that I know of. I'm sure there are a lot of events happening this month, but we do have procurement professionals professionals month and our own Miss Jackie Haley over there. She is the president of her GPAD group and she is a procurement professional here at the city of Milligville. And um she was honored last week, I believe, by going up to the capital and receiving a proclamation for procurement professionals from the governor himself. All right.
And I also would like to just remind everyone that this is also Women's History Month. And I know somebody in this audience knows a wonderful woman in your life somewhere. So just take that time to appreciate them and just remember the things that women have gone through and strive for in their time on this earth in order to make things better for us women today. So just keep that in your memories. I don't have anything else, mayor.

Is that the one that was? Okay. Just want to say um this particular uh read.
I'm sorry. I got it. I'm sorry. Um this particular ordinance has been requested by Mr. Kelly to be withdrawn. uh his request without pre prejudice to annex property located at 76 West Highway 22. So this is no longer on our March agenda schedule. Mayor, it has to be voted on as to whether you allow
the applicant to withdraw without prejudice. Otherwise, it's withdrawn with prejudice requiring the applicant um to have a period where they cannot bring the application back. So, they're the appropriate approach would be I got ahead of myself, Mr. Jordan, because there's two on here. One that's being removed and one that's on the agenda. Here's one. So the one on 2512 is the one that's remaining on the agenda. 251219. And then the um
