The patient office. So we had to deviate to Bermuda. where they sent a boat out. We didn't dock in Bermuda. They sent a rescue ship out. We stopped about a mile and a half off the coast of Bermuda. They sent a ship, a boat out to pick up the patient and take him off. But we were so far ahead. Marcos.

All right, so then we'll go to new business. First thing, obviously, is nominee selections. We've been handed four applications. I'll let Jim go first and present his two, and then we'll try to look at the other two and see what we got. So Jim, the bottom floor is yours.

Yeah, but I have my own special, right? I think those are over here. Yeah, over here. Okay, so I'll go with David Shula first. He grew up in Miami Lakes. He ended up going to Dartmouth to play football. Then ended up in pro football and worked for the, well, he did work for the Dolphins while he was in high school, just like a secondary job. Eventually he became a head football coach in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals. And he was there from 92 to 94. And then when he left, he became, well, I know that he was involved in Shula's steak restaurant. He was the president. So basically, his credentials are sports and coaching. And he played a theophilus. He played sports, theophilus. You know, if there's any questions about it. I got to know him from St. Thomas Aquinas because my son and his son played together for four years. He played in Shawnee. He and Wesley. Shula. But, you know, currently he's up at Dartmouth as a wide receiver coach. I'm not sure. I sent him... And notice that, you know, we were nominated in court, but I never got a reply. So I think I have to find another email to correspond with him. I would doubt he would be available because his football season might still be going on. But that's what I'm looking for. He spoke at the first Hall of Fame meeting as he represented his dad in the seats, Don. And You know, he was quite familiar with the award. I expect him to be quite pleased that he was nominated for it. Is there anything I could answer on it? What I could provide is just things that came up on online. I could see a task. Most of this is statistics and things from when he was in college as a wide receiver. I think anybody that knows him knows that he's obviously an outstanding person. Second nominee? Okay, the second nominee is a student athlete from Miami Lakes, Michael Timpson. He was a superstar athlete in both track and field and football at Miami-Lakes. He went on to get a scholarship to Penn State. And from there, he went into the NFL, played for a number of teams, mostly the Patriots as a wide receiver. The only issue I'm having right now is to try to get in touch with him. but I reached out to the last known contact based on Google information and left messages, but nobody has responded. I did not get in touch with him. I called the school, a high school. Supposedly, at least two years ago, he was an athletic director at a school in Orange Park near Orlando. But when I called that school, I could, for some reason, could not get the high school I kept getting in the elementary school. And they didn't know anything about it. So I'm hoping that somebody, I think my relates might have, you know, a way to correspond with some of these high-profile alumni. I mean, it could even be from somebody, Marion, that you had mentioned earlier. the quarterback that played at Miami. I mean, they may be in touch with each other. I don't know. But to make this a complete application, I have to have his information. And I don't. So I mean, this might die just because of the lack of information. But we can't contact him. There's no way I can nominate him. Do you think anybody at HML would still...

But I mean, he's like one of the more high profile candidates. dual athletes that ever come out of HML. Right. I think the one time he held, he either won seven or held seven state track and field records. He's, you know, a phenomenal athlete.

And wasn't there a time that he, he either owned or parted with the Holland Dolls right here? So next to the fields?

I know a principal that was one of the, one of the principals that was, I know for sure he was at North Miami Beach. I can't remember his name. He, the principal owned it with two partners and one was another lady in my new place. But I never knew Timpson did.

Yeah, I feel like he did among us.

Okay. Well, I, I, I get a, Christmas card from that principal's wife each year from Seattle. So, in fact, I remember her name was Patty Stauffer. I can't remember his name. Principal. That was the second marriage we wrote. But, you know, I could ask him. Maybe he is, you know, something. Right. And I don't know, in fact, if he didn't still own the office. I don't know. Oh, yeah, that's a long time. So I guess we can table the address, but consider the person or which way we want to go.

I mean, we table because if we can't get ahold of him, and then why?

Well, then we should write, right? I have to believe that somehow, You know, and, you know, as soon as school starts, somehow we're going to get some type of connection, I would think. Right. But that's, I don't know.

Especially that he lives in Florida. I mean, so close.

Yeah. And being in Orlando. Too bad he didn't know about the opening of H.R. Yeah. Or the former opening. Is there anything negative on either of these two nominations? Because I don't know more than what I read after he left HMU.

Right. No, I just know he was phenomenal when he was at HMU. I mean, to me, he was the most phenomenal. He was one of the first ones that went to the NFL. That he moved to the NFL. Right. Because that's in the early 80s. I remember him being the first one, I think, that I knew. I was a young guy then.

The other application we have is a folder from last year which was nominated by the vice mayor Brian Marrera. And that's for a community builder around here it's one coach. Gareth J. push that piece, and he also coached at each of them. Gareth J. At least he was an assistant piece I remember that I don't think he was i'm not sure if it was in the head coach, at least, but look. Gareth J. With the 1995 I don't know what it is. Gareth J. has to do with the packet but.

So they were just, you know, kind of build up a packet that those things are like team names or names of players that I think the coach started in 94.

So this is stuff.

He coached all this, those teams. Yeah. Yeah. I don't see him on the stats. So the first couple, but yeah, there's HTML kids here. There were kids that played under him, I guess.

But I think that's the, I don't think they have the quotients. Yeah, they do have the quotients at the bottom. Oh, okay.

Well, how good a coach was he? Because I mean, the record is here. He was 230. He was under 500 in 18 years in HMO. He was 234 and 242. What's his, what is his claim to opinion? He said, first of all, Connie Claire's nine seconds, you know, Connie 12, 13 or Connie 10. One district championship in 96. This championship in 98. No state titles.

Well, we could, you know, I think Mary Matt went online and there's several other pro football players from HML. I thought we had had more coming in from the outside. That's the biggest challenge we have is getting nominations from the outside. Well, first of all, I don't think.

Because the cutoff date is August 1st, right? Yeah. I know that's right. That's what I told them when I saw them in our reunion.

Well, I would, I mean, I don't know what I'm saying, but I'm stumbling around for words to not offend anybody, but I would almost I mean, if we don't think somebody is qualified compared to the people that are still out there, is it possible that we can go through a file and pull out somebody else? Or we can't be, or we can.

We can bring whatever we want to the table.

Well, that's what I'm saying. You know, there's a quarterback in HML that played for football, played at LSU.

If we're going to eliminate some people who go to high school and then college, you can always go back to the high school ones once we run out of the other ones that are more

My only drawback, obviously, Jim, to your two nominations is that we can't get ahold of either one.

No, well, we can get, I mean, we can call Dartmouth and talk to David. I just, I mean, I provided the email that I sent to the school with no reply. So it may be that he's changed his email. I did not call the college, but there's, I'm sure we can get in touch with him. I can call his son who's in Jacksonville and get another number. The other one, Timpson, I can't say that. I can't for sure. For sure I can get in touch with David. Obviously, I believe he would accept the nomination. I don't know if he could attend. He'd probably send his son down from Jacksonville to accept it. His brother is another one that we could, Mike. He's a coach at Alabama. He coached both football. He's an offensive coordinator. Well, he's not. He's at University of South Carolina as an offensive assistant. I think he's currently. I don't honestly know that for a fact, but I mean, there's some high-profile people. There's a gentleman from HML that was the general manager of the Baltimore Orioles. I'd have to look up his name, but, you know, that's a pretty high-profile position in Major League Baseball.

Okay, so I'm looking on the Dartmouth's website. There's no longer a list of names. and being on staff.

Yeah, I'm looking at their, their directory for football. He's not there. The wide receivers coach is Tom Gilchrist now.

So I can reach out to my son who can give me his son's information and call him and get in touch with Dave. They had a second home. They still have a second home because Leslie just stays down here, part of the year, his wife.

Yeah, eventually Chris Shula will be knocking on the door of the Hall of Fame. He's the one with the charger, right? That's his son? No, the Rams. That's his son? Mike's son? No, David's son. Yeah, that's David's son. I mean, I'm totally fine with David Shula. The only thing that scares me is trying to get a hold of him. He's definitely worth the nomination. Like Jim brought up, the Rohan Davies of the world thing is getting a hold of him. You know, because even through HTML, I don't know if we'll be able to get them because they're registered as, you know, they updated their account information.

And to be honest, I only met the new AD, this young kid today. He did. He mentioned him. Somehow, okay, I think he graduated in the same time as Rohan. And so they have a certain click because he threw out some names that I was like, okay, yeah, he's definitely not. Yeah. So he actually, when he threw out his name, I was like, oh, wait a second. And somewhere, whether it's like his uncle or him or something, he knew him. And I was actually surprised. I was like, okay. I spoke to him for like an hour about just everything.

Another HMO guy that eventually came knocking on the doors is Armando Allen.

Went to Notre Dame, you know, played in the NFL. I still remember his, you know, him um you know so i mean coach wise and it's nothing against rob i know coaches in baseball that coach that day christian that's more nerdy who won state titles at day christian and if the fish chain right here huh he was there 18 for a year where he was at hml yeah he was i remember he was at belen oh i talked to earning all the time um you know he's somebody that You know, he never did the Miami Dakes, but he coached the Dave Christian. He worked at HML. So, you know, that's the loophole we have for that. You know, Dave Christian is right outside the town border. He coached at, you know, he was an AD at HML. He's won state titles at Florida Christian and Dave Christian, you know.

They only determined when he was AD because if it was after 2000.

No, it was after 2000 because he was at Dave for a while.

And it was only a year, because I think he was in a transition that goes somewhere else.

Mm-hmm. He ended up at Gables also. We weren't very happy with him. He's been at Gables, he's been at Florida Christian, he's been at Bay Christian.

But yeah, he was a passing through.

Well, I reached out to Heather, because we just spoke with all of them. And I thought they were going to do it. That's why I was actually surprised. Cause I didn't do it. Cause I thought, okay, they can put a whole ton, you know, I'm going to back up my memory. So I thought between Heather and Tricia, they were going to, that's why I put a little note. I'm going to message them. Like, you know, why did you do it? You know, people get busy, especially during the summer, you know, and you just tell them, Hey,
