you Thank you. Thank you.
on re-noticing all of the items on tonight's agenda and they will be moved to a future agenda either April 15th or May 6th.
Do you know, is there a date that you will know or are you splitting them between the two?
We'll reach out to all of the applicants tomorrow to let them know what date their items will be deferred to. Right now, I don't know because I have to wait on the Miami Herald to confirm my notice.
Okay. Does everybody get that? So we need seven board members to hold a meeting, and we only have six in attendance, and we're sure that all the rest of the board members are absolutely not coming tonight. so we can't move forward with the meeting. And so everything that's on the agenda for tonight is gonna be split between two future dates. And based on confirmation from the Miami Herald to staff to say when the notices are actually going to be published, we'll determine which items go on which dates and the applicants will be notified so that they know when to show up for their item. And I guess when will the website show the, is it the next couple days, the agendas will be updated on the, or not even, no?
No. No, so. People are welcome to email me and to find out the additional, what date each item is going to. If they would like, we'll also try to put out some communication via the commissioner's offices on what dates items in their districts are going so that we can get that information out to the public.
I think you have the right to convert this meeting into a public forum so that the public can give their commentary and be addressed and taken down for your future meeting. You have the right to do that without court, so you know.
Mm-hmm.
There's a good point made there about discussion. The downside is that we have to take action and so instead of having six people sitting here and everyone speaking their mind now and then having to do that again later to a potentially completely different board or a much expanded board, I think You'd miss out on the opportunity to address the board that's actually voting on your items. So I think doing it once correctly and being voted on is going to best serve the community. Although we acknowledge the board members that are here appreciate the inconvenience and it's for all of us, we all intend to have a meeting every time we show up and we apologize for that. Yes, Mr. Torres. I think we should probably not start doing that because then I think it turns into something. Right. My point is that if we do that, we're going to do it twice and possibly to a different board that's, you know, in other words, the public wants to be heard. That's fine. But it's somewhat pointless if they're going to say the same thing again and to additional comments and to a larger board that's actually going to take action. Because some of these folks may not be here. So just putting it on the record. There's a value to that, but putting it on the record in front of the board that's going to take action and make recommendations to...
I'm sorry, if anyone in the public is going to speak, they need to speak onto the microphone because... Right, got it. Thank you.
Okay. I just wanted a clarity. That's it. Thank you, sir.
Chairman Gersten.
Sir, yes sir.
Would it have been possible for the city to have let us know in advance that there were six different requests for absences?
No, it seems like some came in very late in the day.
Because we're feeling like this has been an April Fool's joke, and the joke's on us.
Well, I'll tell you the real—appreciate that. I'd like to just let you guys know that we absolutely thought that it might be an issue holding a meeting on a holiday. It was discussed. Back when we set the calendar, we did everything we could to find alternate dates. There were no dates available in this room on a Tuesday or Thursday, even if we wanted to have a meeting two days in a row. So we actually tried. And my comments at the time were, well, we're just going to have to roll with it and assume that because of the holiday, there'd be an unlikelihood of quorum. So I don't think anybody did this on purpose and doesn't think it's okay. I don't think anybody thinks it's okay. It is extremely unfortunate. There are some serious items on the agenda, but this is what we're dealing with.
Thanks for coming, everybody. And we're trying, and we are discussing some... No, okay.
Yeah, would you want to just, yeah, say...
So we'll do a roll call to confirm there's no quorum. Clearly there's no quorum. We were working very diligently into the last minutes to try to see if we could obtain a quorum. Sometimes people request an absent waiver because they think they're not gonna be able to make it through, to be able to get here on time, or something gets canceled. And so when we are on the edge, We do not cancel the meeting in advance.
If you all could just stay quiet for a second so we can get through these comments here, please.
And so we were not able to convince anybody else. Nobody was able to come there either at work. It is also Holy Week. It's Holy Wednesday. It's also the beginning of Passover. So we know a lot of people, and it's spring break. So we know that there are a lot of people that have a lot going on this week. Items one through six, which are the CEU revocations, those will most likely be deferred to the first meeting in May. The Miami Loop legislation will most likely be, it will most likely end up at the first meeting in May, but I would expect, or there is a potential for it to be further deferred at that time. The remaining three applications that are, I'm sorry, there's an exception for a must, a variance application, a vacation application. We are trying very diligently to get those into our April 15th and waiting for verification from the Miami Herald on that. So I cannot make a promise because I do have noticing deadlines that I have to meet. And then we do anticipate having the TDD legislation on the April 15th. Again, if the Miami Herald is able to publish our advertisement for that. So that's what we're working on right now in terms of when all of the cases will be deferred to. I am going to stick around and I'm happy to answer any questions that anybody has about any of tonight's items or about the TDD affordable housing legislation.
Thank you. So at this time, we do not have quorum. We cannot move forward with meeting.
I'm sorry, chair.
Oh, sorry.
Okay. Thank you.
Okay. Sorry. I'll get to that. But, um, as you heard the, um, Loop item is at least pushed off to May, at least, and TDD will be as soon as possible, likely April 15th. So with that, we will take roll.

But Savannah Steiner is available to take questions.
We already have here Gisela and Alío from the operations department. They are going to do the stump grinding and soon you will see how the wax is already clean and ready to make the concrete. Normally we make two daily directions, that is, two daily 311 calls. We have reached the end of our work, we have achieved a very safe wax, it was what we wanted.
and I will. I can and I will. I can and I will. Mantras are really helpful for me in managing my mental health. I can and I will. The mind is so powerful. Love your mind.
The consequences of illegal dumping are significant. For individuals caught in the act, they may face a fine up to $15,000 and even criminal charges depending on the severity of the offense. It is important to emphasize that this behavior will not be tolerated in Miami, and we will act against those who violate our waste management regulations. The negative image created by illegal dumping also affects our city's reputation and can impact tourism and economic growth. By working together, we can create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable Miami for our residents.
Did you know that as of now, all commercial landscapers and residential gardeners working within the City of Miami must have a landscaping certification? To obtain the certification, you can attend a mandatory free landscaping certification course held at the City of Miami Department of Solid Waste. The course takes place on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, as well as the first and third Wednesday of every month, from 10 a.m. to noon. This permit is required for all commercial landscapers and residential gardeners operating within the City of Miami limits. Be sure to obtain your certification to continue operating within the City of Miami.
As technology advances, scammers have figured out multiple ways to use it against us. Scammers target consumers searching for company contact information online by purchasing fraudulent ads that look legitimate. When individuals click these ads or call the displayed numbers, they are unknowingly connected with scammers and share personal information. Victims often only realize they have been scammed weeks later. To protect yourself from online search scams, follow these tips. 1. Always use the phone number on your FPL bill instead of searching for contact information online. 2. Check the URL for misspellings or extra characters. 3. Look for the padlock icon, which indicates a secure connection.
It happens more than you would think because scams are getting more elaborate. It can be difficult to tell what is a scam. These scammers know how to confuse you and take your information.
Scammers are aggressively targeting utility company customers across Florida, using sophisticated tactics to pocket quick cash. And it can happen to anyone.
At Florida Power & Light Company, we don't ever want one of our customers to become a victim of a scam. That's why it's so important that you follow these tips to best protect yourself.
If you receive a suspicious call and they say it is FPL asking you to pay something, hang up. Even if the caller ID displays FPL's phone number and name.
FPL will never call you and demand something immediately. An FPL employee will never call you and make you feel pressured to provide personal information.
FPL will never demand immediate payment through an app like Zelle or Venmo, a prepaid card or wire transfer to avoid service disconnection. FPL will never ask for personal information, such as account numbers or your social security number. FPL will never ask for personal information unless you call them, in which case we will ask questions to confirm you are the account holder.
We have heard of scammers that threaten to turn off power to your home or business within an hour if payment isn't made immediately. And they may even claim a truck is on the way. It's important to remember FPL would never do that.
FPL does have energy experts who complete home energy surveys, but FPL will never solicit a customer by phone to offer home energy surveys. Our FPL energy experts will visit your home only if you request the survey and make an appointment.
