Call the Broken Arrow City Council meeting to order. We have invocation by Pastor Richard Edgar.
Thank you, sir. Roll call. Pickle. Here. Green.
Wimpy. Here. Please stand and join Counselor Ford for the Pledge of Allegiance.
I have a note to pull double a off the consent agenda are there any other items.
And double A is approval of an authorization to clear canine officer Thor as surplus property and retiring said canine to his handler effective August 21st, 2026. So retiring. Officer Thor, yes.
I'm sure many of us that went through Citizens Police Academy probably got bit by him.
All right. Item seven is public hearings, appeals, presentations, recognitions and awards. 7A is presentation of a citation of recognition signed by the mayor and presented to court clerk Michaela Payson, recognizing her being awarded Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association's Sarah Bizzle Court Clerk of the Year Award.
Do you want me to say it again? Are you being serious? What was it? court clicker of the year or whatever. That's what I would say. Sarah Bizzle. For Rizzle. Michaela, can you come up, please?
Oh, that's so pretty. This is very fancy. That's very nice.
Thank you for representing our city so well. I'm going to read this proclamation for you now. Or citation, rather. Citation of recognition presented to Michaela.
Yes, you did. Payson. Okay, Payson. Whereas the Oklahoma Municipal Court Clerks Association provides municipal court clerks opportunities to enhance knowledge, skills, and professional development through education, training, and valuable resources. And whereas each year the OMCCA recognizes one municipal court clerk whose exemplary service, dedication, and meaningful contributions reflect the highest standards of the municipal court clerk profession. And whereas Sarah Bizzle Court Clerk of the Year Award honors municipal court clerks who have served for fewer than five years and who demonstra
Always good to have our outstanding employees get recognized.
All right, item B is update on Northeastern State University activities. Oh, we're going to table that until September 1st meeting. Scratch that. Item C, presentation of design option selection for Tucson Street improvements from Olive Avenue to Aspen Avenue project. Charlie Bright.
But if somebody, and this is not an opposition, I understand and I agree with you. But when you have that four lanes, then you get caught up like we do over on Kenosha. anytime when you have the four lanes, somebody's going to turn left, then it's going to hold up all the traffic back behind.
All right. Item D, update on the data center study committee and the data center regulatory study and development of permanent zoning standards. Mr. Spurgeon.
If there ever is one, we want to make sure that we have all the information that we need for our community. That is correct. I just wanted to put that in on the record.
Any questions or discussion? All right. Thank you, Sarah. Item eight is citizens' opportunity to address the council on general topics related to city business or services. Just a reminder, no action may be taken on matters under this item. So first... Craig Stewart, I have you here to speak in opposition, but I don't know the item number. Is there Craig Stewart in the audience? Do you know what? Can you just let me know what item number you're? 26-1310. OK, so pause then. All right. OK, Alan Jackson. Come on down, sir.
Trevor. I know we do not have flock cameras in our city, so we don't have to worry about that. But we can, I guess, find out the answer to his question.
All right. Any other questions? No? OK. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you. I will note that we received these notices this evening, so there's not been a chance for us to reply to them.
Oh, I was wondering what she was talking about.
I don't know about this float, but I can tell you the float many years ago, it was looked at also because it felt like there was a need for it.
Many years ago, it was floated that we might need an airport, and so the city did look at it 30 to 40 years ago.
I just like I read at the very beginning.
Thank you for sharing. All right. And that is it for Citizens Opportunity to Address. On item 9 is General Counsel Business. 9A is Consideration, Discussion, and Possible Approval and Direction to Publish a Legal Notice of Annexation for the Voluntary Annexation of approximately 75.48 acres located one third mile north of Washington Street, west of Oneida Road. Rocky.
property owner that wants to annex this property into our city.
And I don't have a question, but a comment that I'm pleased with that is to see a large piece of property like that coming into the city. So much development today out there is not within the city of Broken Arrow.
Well, we have two citizens signed up to speak. So if they have any questions, we might have to bring you back in.
we do have city ordinances that protect that and they don't allow our development doesn't allow for additional runoff that's more than what's already there so we already have something in place that protects that because that's a large flood zone right through there um so okay i mean so the city has a plan and they and that's i guess that's all i need to know
And that's one of the benefits of annexing it to the city of broken areas, because we really stick with that. Uh, as far as any flooding engineering report and, uh, making sure you don't add any more water runoff than what's there before it's developed. So historically we've had that if we have problems with subdivisions, it's a subdivision that was developed outside the city. not by the city, and then we go ahead and annex it. Then we have to go in and kind of repair it, repair the streets. So all the structure, all the planning will be under the umbrella of the city of Broken Arrow because i
All right. Chris Cochran? Co-Chan. Co-Chan, so sorry.
And having a PUD is a good thing. Because they are held to a standard and they have to follow what the plan unit development is.
But I did ask when they were going to be developing, because I knew that I didn't own the land behind me. So at some point, it would get developed, unfortunately. All right. Any further questions or discussion? Seeing none, I entertain a motion.
Thank you, sir. Item 9B, consideration, discussion, and possible approval of construction variance for Myers-Cherry construction for concrete pours for fire station number eight. Charlie.
probably they don't have a choice. I mean, it's just too hot during the daytime to. Yeah.
We were wondering how large this fire station just grew.
Thank you. All right. There are no preview ordinances. No ordinances. Remarks by governing body members. It's hot. It's hot.
I was just saying this deal with the public service. I've got these that I haven't opened also because I just got them this evening. Could we get some kind of feedback from the city staff? sometime this week, what they're talking about. Yes, sir.
Okay. Well, if we could just get a little bit of information about what's going on.
That's exciting. Thank you, sir. You're welcome.
Thank you. We do have an executive session.
Wimpy. Yes. I want to say here. Call the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority meeting to order. Roll call. Pickle. Here.
Parks. Here. Wimpy. Here. Are there any items to be removed from the consent agenda?
All right. Item five is public hearings, appeals, presentations, recognitions, and awards. Five A, presentation to the Broken Arrow Municipal Authority of Solid Waste and Recycling Gold Lid Recycle Program.
I know, look at him. Fancy. It said Jerry, but you are no Jerry.
All right. Well, thank you for that presentation. Thank you very much. You look very nice today. Yes, you do look very nice. All right, we have no general authority business. Remarks by governing body members?
All right. City manager. I have none ma'am. Okay. Okay. Uh, let's see. We do not have an executive session. We do. I'm looking right at it too. Sorry. Yep. Got it. Okay. Entertain a motion to take a brief recess to jump into, um, beta.
Pickle? Yes. Green? Yes. Ford? Yes. Parks? Yes. Wimpey? Yes. All right. Call the broken error economic development authority meeting to order. Roll call. Pickle? Here. Green? Here. Ford? Here. Parks? Here. Wimpey? Here. Are there any items to be removed from the consent agenda?
Make a motion we approve the consent agenda.
Roll call. All right. We have no public hearings, appeals, presentations, recognitions or awards. No general authority business. Any remarks by governing body members?
Yes, it's a great point. It's exciting. Very much so. So, manager, I have no man then. All right. There is no executive session on that one, so we can adjourn that measure to adjourn.
