Judge, I move to approve the claims as presented for August the 6th, 2026. EFTs $227,362.48. Regular claims of $1,094,480.58 for a total of $1,321,843.06. Second.
I think we've got one for the animal control folks.
Judge, I move that the court consider and take action on a proposed 2026 tax rate of .305015 per $100 valuation at the regular meeting on Thursday, August 20th. and to set a public hearing of the adopted proposed tax rate at the regular Commissioner's Court meeting on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at 8.30 a.m. Second.
I just want to point, can you go back one slide? For the public, you know, I read this last sentence, and it says that it will increase property taxes more than last year's budget by 1.7%. It says $1.8 million, and it says of that amount, $3.9 million is raised from new property out of the tax rolls. And you're not reading that wrong. It doesn't make any sense. Basically what that's saying is we've had adjustments in value that are eating up almost $2 million of that $4 million increase. So the fact that we have to call this a tax increase and all the stuff we're going to go through here, I th
Judge, I move to approve the publication of notice pursuant to Local Government Code Section 152.013 , providing the public with a maximum potential salary, expense, and allowance increases for each applicable elected county and precinct officer, and to take action after a public hearing on the proposed salaries, expenses, and allowances at the regular meeting of the Commissioner's Court on Thursday, August 20, at 8.30 a.m. And in the amounts proposed in the county judge's recommended budget for fiscal year 2027. Second.
I don't know if anyone's here to speak on any of these items.
I want to be specific. That motion is for action agenda item number three, number one. Because I will make a motion shortly for number two.
Judge, on action agenda item number three, number two, a further move to set public hearings of the proposed 2027 budget at the regular meetings of the commissioner's court on Thursday, August the 20th and Thursday, September the 17th.
Move to approve action agenda item number four with the correction to the agenda item to clarify that the lots affected are 498 and 499R, establishing lot 498R. Second.
Mr. Schell, let me ask you a question real quick. Can you go back to that slide? So, for example, on project here, number 31, it's Watson Lane, and then the far right, you've got $68 million. So I assume that would be the total cost for everything that gets done there. So if we turn that into the MPO and three separate projects, maybe we could break it up, and those become $20 million projects that maybe we could get funding from the MPO to cover 80% of or something like that. Yes. So this is sort of maximum risk right here on that particular program?
So I want to move to accept the work authorization number two from the Comow County Road Improvement Program from HNTB. Second.
Thank you. Robert, there was one more thing, just a real minor issue. They had 1863 listed on one side, and then they changed the number to 1183. We just want to make sure we go through theirs before any of that goes forward so we will have it documented correctly instead of those two numbers. Just make sure they're all right. Absolutely. Yes, sir.
Yeah, so I've made no secret. I think that we need to move forward on some of these projects. We have to figure out a way forward. I think that in conjunction with all the facility work that we've done in consideration of the improvements on our different facilities across the county, that we should move forward with some sort of a public engagement process and potentially look forward to a bond in the future. Go ask the people, hey, we've done all this prep work. We have all these feasibility studies. We have all this groundwork done. Now let's bring some folks together and get some ideas fro
Unquestionably, local participation moves your tech stop projects forward faster. We've seen it in other counties, Hays County specifically. You know, well, Commissioner Schell was a long-time commissioner there. And, I mean, we've used their example here to kind of move forward. I mean, there's no doubt that local participation moves state projects forward much more rapidly. And we need that here.
Move to approve action to item number six.
Thank you for the work you do. Thank you.
Move to approve action agenda item number seven.
Move to approve action agenda item number 8. Second.
Move to approve action agenda item number nine with the adjustments outlined by Mr. Davila. Second. Second.

Yeah, Robert, we don't use these cameras very often, thank goodness. But when we do use them, they are very valuable. And I appreciate y'all's work that y'all have done to keep expanding the program that we're working on. Yes, sir.
