Yes. Consent agenda passes with five yeses, zero noes. I'll take number six, and then I'll get to you next, and then I'll do the other one. I want to direct this to the deputy city manager. I see where we're authorizing over $1.3 million to a contract to ran. I know we've had some discussions, at least at the last council meeting, on procurement policies and those things. My question to you is, Does Rand and the subcontractors that are going to be doing this work meet those qualifications?

11:10•Mayor Kevin King

Yes. Item number six passes with five yeses and zero noes. Council Member Atkinson?

11:17 – 12:23•Councilmember Cody Atkinson

Yes. So this is a follow-up on the study session for us to pursue a Bird City designation. This is not any sort of ordinance or regulatory change at this moment, this is just simply instructing staff to examine the next steps, I am prone to very long emails So if you would like to see my ideas on the various things we can change to be more bird friendly. I am more than happy to share those with you. I got a lot of really great feedback from various organizations and individuals about pursuing this designation. I even spoke with Doug Cowan of Community Services League, and he sees it as a poten

16:46•Mayor Kevin King

All right, this brings us to council member comments. I will start with council member Dorman.

16:57 – 19:57•Councilmember Jackie Dorman

Okay, so I feel like maybe we've shared these, but if so, correct me, but have we been here since the police night out? Oh, okay, okay. So one thing that I want to mention is we had the police night out, which actually involved the fire department and the military and a fabulous night at the Independence Center. It seems like we've had a meeting to discuss this. So if I'm repeating myself, it was a great night. We have the library there, a lot of nonprofits, those that are helping with suicide prevention, drug addiction, like just a great community night. When it comes up next year, I would en

20:03 – 20:33•Councilmember Cody Atkinson

Yeah, I want to thank Congressman Cleaver and his staff for attending last week. Really looking forward to tackling such a prominent issue in our community with homelessness and housing affordability and just getting to work with somebody who worked so hard on passing a bipartisan bill like that. It's a great privilege to have them here in our community. That's all I have, actually. Thanks. Thank you.

20:35 – 22:37•Councilmember Heather Wiley

Thank you, Mayor. So it's been a really busy couple of weeks since the last meeting. And I was able to sit down today with Dr. Vicki Murillo, who's our new superintendent. Had a really great meeting with her. Really excited about her. She's got some fantastic plans for ISD. She's got a really great vision. I could have talked to her forever. And I'm really excited about her. So... Thank you for taking the time to meet with me, Dr. Murillo, excited to see what you do. Last week we had our quarterly audit and finance meeting We were able to do an audit on the rental ready program, which is a rea

22:41 – 22:59•Councilmember Brice Stewart

Thank you, Mr. Mayor. The only thing I was going to mention was the budget town hall for the second district is actually going to be on. Looks like October the 28th, it'll be from 6 to 8 at the Metropolitan Community College, Blue River, off of 78 Highway. That's all I have. Thank you. All right. Thank you.

23:02 – 28:19•Mayor Kevin King

I've been a little busy myself lately. A couple things that I just wanted to go over. I was honored to speak at the grand opening and the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Independent Surgical Center, which is just a couple buildings down. This is for people that have issues getting into a dentist in time and with Medicare issues, and they have developed this to try to help in that area. Really excited for them to be here. I think this is a new avenue for us in trying to make sure that everybody has the opportunity to get dental care, because I think that's important for our kids and our resident

28:21 – 28:54•Councilmember Heather Wiley

Can I just add one more announcement? This Sunday, the 25th from 1 to 4, both the Vail and Bingham are going to be open. For folks to tour I'm sorry I didn't mention this during my council member comments but the public can come it's not a formal tour but you can see the places where both both historic buildings need to be repaired and talk to volunteers about the repairs that both buildings need. Thanks.

28:55 – 29:44•Mayor Kevin King

Yeah. And I'll kind of piggyback a little bit on that. This past Saturday, I was at the volunteer appreciation for Old Fire Station 1 and got to – look around and see some of the old fire trucks and also talk to them about the issues with their building as well so I'm sure that they would be more than willing to take people around so if you had any if you wanted to see what their issues are there as well and you know we encourage everybody to get out and vote on our geo bond on November 3rd this is important for us to protect our historical sites And at that, I'm going to turn it over to our D

29:56 – 30:10•Mayor Kevin King
