Discussion and possible action to provide direction to Washoe County Staff regarding the process and timeline for hiring a new Library Director, including the possible direction regarding the process to potentially appoint an Interim Director. [For Possible Action] (10 minutes)
Following the discussion at the September 16, 2026, Library Board of Trustees meeting staff is requesting direction from the board on the timeline for hiring a new director and direction on the process to appoint an interim director. Discussion will include providing direction to staff on the following: verification of the timeframe for recruitment based on direction from the Board; determine the pool of employees to explore for appointment of an interim director which could be limited to library staff, or a broader pool of Washoe County employees.
