So we've heard from you. What I do is as the board goes through the budget, I will stay in touch with you for any updates on how we're balancing.
Right now we have a pay increase flat that's between three and 4%. The board will be working on the wage scale at a separate meeting where that's all we look at. And we must set the preliminary budget by October 26th. So when the board schedules the public hearing for the budget, that becomes the preliminary budget and that public hearing will be held on November 5th. We will officially schedule the public hearing once the preliminary budget is set. So that's our timeframe. So anytime between now and then is I'll probably be coming back to you, especially if we have more questions or want some
Okay. Next up, we've got eight. We have like five departments. So I entered in your, what you sent to me today. No, your spreadsheet. Oh, yes. Is what I used in here. Okay. And just for the board's awareness in our backup folder. There is a folder called 2027 budget and it has the presentation I gave on Monday. It also has the full budget. It has some, I'm putting any backup in there that I think you guys might want to see. Most of it is currently appendices to the budget, but having it as a separate document, I think is helpful. And I had sent departments, in addition to asking them for budge
So if we go to page, let's all go to the appendices version, which is start with page 32. That way we see the detail. So basically, the numbers that Kate gets to meet are the interest and penalties. That seems appropriate. based on the trend we've seen. A slight increase from what we budgeted last year, but in the middle, because we don't, you never, you do not want to over project that. Tax collector fees, which ones are those?
Um, and then. you process the dog control fees.
Park and rec fees. went up significantly because of the structure change and i think were we more booked this year yes yes i think the bathroom makes it a lot more um they want a kitchen next but you know well that's a little ways off well we do have two grills now though um And there's a water spigot. That's all he really needs. Okay. So then... HAB-Masyn Moyer- Was there anything else on the revenue side that you wanted to speak to.
So that's on page 39. And the only, so the department requests are in yellow. The only change I made in the tentative budget, just from any department requests to the tentative budget would be wages where I was making sure it was divisible by like the salaries are divisible by 52 and that I actually put in the wage increases in the scale at 3%. So if once the board will be having a conversation about the wage, how we want to do wage increases, And the wage spreadsheet that I have that's in an appendices shows a range of three to 4%. And I have a spreadsheet that shows the difference between th
I am hoping that we will receive the local records management grant. So that is in December, the application for that, I think, or it just starts January. So if we have the quotes and everything, that is a pretty simple to pull together application that we can get in. And do you think you can wait to hear back about that? Yeah. Yeah. Um, yeah, everything else is basically holding steady other than those things.
Right. So I think it's going to, I have some quotes. So we might, that one, we might just need to bump up a little bit. Okay. Okay. Yep. Any, does the board have any questions for Kate? I do, thank you.
Thanks for being here today and always. Is there anything that you have earmarked for this last quarter for office supplies or equipment? that you haven't gotten yet, but like new desk for another clerk or anything like that, or a new office chair for anyone in the office, computer, et cetera.
all those lines yeah i know that was my point i was like you're only like actually the clerk's office it's been totally like yeah all right i'll stop in tomorrow to see it in the new days um cool as i was you know if i see something that's like less than 50 spent at this point i'm like what can we buy from this now to save the budget next year um but great yeah i have um Your office is like the heart of town. You guys are, like you said, one of the only offices that interacts with almost everyone or has to know something about every department at their department in town, not just the extensio
I agree with everything Farrell said. Thank you so much for everything you do and that your office does. And seeing the amount of traffic that comes through there and what you guys handle, it's... I agree. We need to make sure that we're adequately funding that. Just, I want to make sure this looks like a title, but all three deputy clerks are going to be full-time with that, right? So the wage, the, you know, they're all at 40.
Oh, my note. I see. Yes. I didn't, I tried to catch all of those, but yes, that's full-time.
Not in your office. So that one. Only two. Only two are full-time. So that one's split, but we're, it's just that one. How many hours again was 14? Stop working here on the balance.
Wait, three is the one that we share as a highway.
So then Aaron, just for my brain, is this amount here her entire as a clerk?
She's a deputy town clerk who is assigned additional duties. So her wages are captured in the clerk.
In the bank reconciliation, that's going to stay, you know, that's going to stay in Sam's.
Thank you. Thank you. You guys want to change this a little bit? We're just going to take a second.
Oh, I guess we could just do that. Yeah. And Charlotte. Okay.
So now we're at the business recording portion of our meeting. I've submitted the monthly financials to the board digitally. The overview of our larger funds is that general fund took in $1,000. $208,271.31 in the month of September. And our expenditures totaled $159,156.03. In the highway fund, we saw a total income of $140,743.22. And our expenditures were $113,509.13. Every financial report is available to the board. It is also available to the public. So at the top of every single agenda, there is a link to a Google Drive folder that has meeting backup in it for each meeting. So the report
I don't have anything to report from the highway. Councilman Nguyen is absent, so he doesn't have a justice court report. So we'll move on to board and committee reports. Pete, do you have anything to report for us?
Yes. So the housing advisory committee mostly got prepared for, they worked on obviously the recommendation letter we got about the short-term rental cap and our short-term rental law in general to the board and spent the bulk of their summer on the tail and working on that after they tried to work and do some legwork on the RFP for us for the grant funding for the pro-housing grant. Once we got in, they kind of did a, rough draft of what we would need for that for consultants. And then they were at Heritage Day. They did a survey. I do not know the results of them yet. I'm hoping I get those
I have one note that March Gallagher called me to let me know that there was a misunderstanding from the report data and there are not short-term rentals that are registered with the county that are operating here. She said it was a little confusing. She understands why the data was interpreted that way, but she did send a correction to the paper and that they try their very best to deny, to check and deny anyone that hasn't registered with the local municipality. And obviously the software program they're getting will make it way easier. But she did want me to make sure that it was clear that
All right, planning board. So September 14th meeting was busy. They had five applications, two projects received final approvals and two are moving towards a decision. They had one large project that is requiring further review. So there's a retail location proposed on 209 that they did some, they declared an unlisted action under Seeker and they're moving forward do the secret process for that. The first student EV bus facility was approved with some conditions. They actually were approved for 20 electric buses, and there was also some discussions about expanding that to include 25 buses, but
Thank you. All right. So it is time for the public comment portion of our meeting. This is the time that we welcome the public to address the board directly. We allow three minutes per person. Time may not be yielded. If this amount of time does not feel like an adequate amount of time, we encourage you to write additional comments and send them to the town clerk so the board may view them. We do read every single comment that comes in. We also ask that you not engage in a debate back and forth with anyone in the audience. When someone has their three minutes of time, it is their three minutes
Yes, I did give an announcement. We're having an issue with the camera, but the audio is functional and is streaming online. Thank you.
If you do see it pop up with a little zoom and a pinwheel, then it means the internet went out.
Yeah, so we're keeping an eye on it. Okay. So is there anyone here who would like to address the board? Okay. Barbara, you're up first. And if you would like your name to be a part of the record, please state your name in the beginning of your comment. Okay.
Is there anyone else who'd like to give your hand up?
Is there anyone else who would like to address the board?
