Case 26-23: Zoning Map Amendment Proposal:

Applicant Nick Blackhurst on behalf of property owners Juan Bazan and Ernestina Daniel, requests a change in the zoning classification of approximately +/- 10 acres from RD-2 (Rural Development District) to GD (General Development District). The subject property is located on the east side of Highway 601 S, approximately 0.40 miles north of the Kershaw County-Richland County border. The property is currently zoned RD-2 (Rural Resource District), and identified as TMS# 387-00-00-037. This is a general use rezoning request, with no specific development plans being submitted. The property owner states they intend to develop a general store with storage units in the rear, with possible boat and RV storage. Any and all uses within the proposed GD zoning district will be allowed if this rezoning case is approved by the Kershaw County Council.
