Yes, ma'am. Thank you. City manager. Um, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Uh, you know, I know for many years city of St cloud has tried to expand veterans park, uh, in all different directions. And I believe that this, uh, alternative site, I believe this is, is the right site to, uh, focus our efforts towards. And, um, I would agree to, uh, 14 Oh one because, you know, the cost to, to renovate, I believe was just, uh, was growing. I believe that's the right move at this time. And council comments.
Deputy Mayor. Since day one when I got here, we talked about Veterans Park and I mentioned that to take those fences and move them in so we have parking for that area because I think Veterans Park, although it's a great Facility I don't think the adequate parking is there and I'm not saying that 1310 through 1322 is going to be the answer to that because Although it's a great property and if I was a businessman I'd buy it if the city decided not to and I can't do that and Dano Yelp me but but We talked about moving those fences in three or four years ago for Veterans Park and if that's somethi
All right, we have a motion to approve. City Manager.
All right, before that, I'm going to ask anyone in the audience to speak on this item. All right, entertain a motion to cancel the agreement at 1401 New York Avenue. We have a motion to cancel 1401 New York Avenue from Council Member Urban. Second. Second from Council Member Fletcher. Will the clerk please call the roll?
Deputy Mayor. I think the realtor is speaking. If she may come up and give the address and information. I apologize just so it's on record.
Yeah, I know the city's gonna work fast on this.
Yeah, thank you. Thank you to Mike, obviously. That is a remarkable piece to add to our park there at Veterans Park. The future of our city. Yeah, Mike, you wanna come up and say a few words? Come on up here, Mike.
Known him since I was 18 months old. Of course I know Bill.
I love how patriotic you've always been on your property there. You inspired us to paint the banning shell red, white, and blue. And if y'all seen the lights at night, red, white, and blue light.
All right. And can I get a motion to approve New York 1310 down to 1322 for $899,000? I'll go ahead and make the motion to approve the purchase for that. Second. Those parcels. Motion from the mayor, second from Deputy Mayor Gilbert. Subject to an appraisal, yes, of course. Will the clerk please call the roll?
All right, thank you very much. And with that, anyone else? City Attorney, you have anything? No, sir, thank you. City Manager?
Have anything to add? I'm good, thank you, Mayor. I'm sorry.
And Council Member Urban's got something to say.
I do have one thing, yes. I received a last-minute notification from our Fire Chief asking if we can do a... proclamation at our next meeting for the fire prevention week 2026 and I believe you all have a copy of that at your desk as well so I don't know if we need to make a motion do we need consensus is that just kind of what you need to yes to throw it on for November or for next week for October 8th yes I saw two I saw three I saw four thank you that was consensus yes
Anything else, Council Member? That's all I have. Thank you. All right. Thank you. I just want to let you all know we had an amazing weekend. Soldier City Market was packed with vendors and folks out. Beautiful weather. So anybody at home, come on out. The weather's only getting better and more people are getting out there. So with that, this meeting is adjourned.
