Motion to approve the budget. Just kidding.

1:06 – 1:18•Mimi May

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

1:55 – 2:06•Mimi May

This is going to have to get her own microphone. She doesn't want to talk to me about that. We're going to get close to it. I can get close. Okay. Okay. Is that better? Yeah.

4:35 – 5:02•Christopher McVoy

Yeah, before we finally approve, could someone from staff tell me approximately what the budget for law and local law enforcement is and the cost of pensions from the previous, so the total, roughly? I don't need, you know, certainly don't need pennies and don't even need the nearest thousand.

5:53•Christopher McVoy

$15.5, $15.5 million. And then for the pension?

6:10 – 6:26•Christopher McVoy

So we're pushing 16 million for the total. And just ballpark off the top of your head, or however, about what percentage is that of the general fund? General, I think is...

6:53 – 7:39•Christopher McVoy

Roughly 30%, a third of our budget for that. Okay. As those of us here on the dais are aware, I was quite concerned about the police budget and that had a number of proposals for changes that we did not make. I also have a big concern with adding a half million dollars to that budget for park rangers that there is certainly not uniform enthusiasm in the city to do a half million additional expense. So having voted against the police budget, that's a third of our budget, I can't vote for the budget. And that would be why.

10:02 – 10:29•Mimi May

Wait, what? Just real quick. Now that you're all in the room, let's just give them a round of applause. I mean, you guys did a great job this year. Excellent. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. You really did it. I mean, every year, not that I've been here many years, but every year it's gotten so much better, so much clearer. And we couldn't really, you've done a great job. I can't even imagine. And thank you guys for staying late. And as somebody said, it's, what'd you say, Vaughn? You got two months before you have to start in the next one? Three months.
